Brookdale Clinton New York Memory Care was particularly clean. The people were very friendly. The facilities were magnificent. I think they had everything that a person going there would like. They had a kitchen that the residents could cook in if they wanted. They had an area for men where they could play pool. The women could play, too, but it was more geared toward men. Every day, they had exercises like chair aerobics and yoga. The rooms were a good size and appeared to be very well set up. If you were in a room with a roommate, you each had your own closet and your own TV. You had to bring your own furniture, which could be a plus or a minus. The facilities inside and outside were lovely. The whole building was designated for those with memory issues. If the resident is on oxygen and has severe issues, they aren't able to take them. If they're aggressive or have behavioral issues, they are unable to take them as well. The staff members were wonderful. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I got a chance to somewhat see how they dealt with some of the residents, and they seemed very kind to them and treated them appropriately.

Brookdale Clinton New York Memory Care has been responsive to my dad's needs. They've provided a level of care that we're happy with. They are also very willing to answer questions and take phone calls. They're excellent and I have no problems with them whatsoever. The staff has been caring and responsive. It's very nice, clean, well-kept, and organized. They have lots of activities there too and we're very happy with that. They keep the residents pretty busy. They have an exercise session every day, they play trivia games, they have people come in to play music for them, and they have animals come for pet therapy. They get all kinds of nice things there. It's expensive but they're doing their jobs and that's how much these places cost everywhere so it is what it is.

Brookdale Clinton is absolutely wonderful. My wife is doing very well here. I have dinner with her almost every night and it is fantastic. The people are great. They do everything for her. They take her on little bus trips and they're having a hayride today where they all dress up like it's Halloween. They do exercises every morning, we play cards when I go over, they have entertainment, and they have a guy that plays the piano and sings oldies. She's with another lady, but the rooms are huge. It's in a beautiful area with all country scenery. They have different exercises and games, they take walks outside, they watch different movies, and they read. They have places where you can go outside with umbrellas and tables and sit and chat with everybody. Once a week, they will take off in a bus and go to different areas and scenery around the lakes. I haven't had any problems with them. The staff helps you with anything you want. If you want something different to eat, they get it for you. They make sure that she's getting her medicine at the right time. They keep the place very clean and they keep them busy. The value is good for what you get there.

My mom is in Clare Bridge. It's great, homey, and clean. The staff is very helpful and very nice. The food is fine. My mom is not enjoying activities because she has Alzheimer's; however, she is tolerating them. She has only been there for four months, so she is still adjusting. In general, she seems very happy.

The management at Brookdale is horrible. The picture they paint before your loved one goes there is not reality. The staff turnover is horrible and most of the staff is untrained. Don't try to visit on the weekend, you have to ring a bell and wait for someone to let you in. They are so short staffed on weekends you can stand a log time.. The bottom line at Brookdale is how much profit can we make,. management cares nothing about the residents.

My mom is a resident of Brookdale Clinton. It's locked, so you have to ring the bell to get in, which I don't like. Anyone that comes in has to sign in, and if you want to take the person out that you've come to see, you'd have to sign them in and out as well. That's how they would be able to know where their residents are. It's a small place and I don't think there's more than 70 residents. It has a small dining room, a TV room, theater room, and a pool table. They have a few different activities going on every day, and about once a month or so, they take those that can go on trips to farms or restaurants and so on. It's very clean and the staff is nice. She's in assisted living now, so they give her a shower, and take care of her room and cat. I wasn't as happy with the memory care unit as much as I was with the independent care section. At first, we felt she wasn't getting enough attention and it's quite expensive for her to be there since its private. So I talked to them about my concerns and now they seem to have been fixed. The food is good and the chef is the same one for the independent care as well.
