Broome County, located in south-central New York about 10 miles north of the Pennsylvania border is home to more than 200,000 residents, 16.4% of whom are seniors in the vulnerable 65 and older senior population. • The cost of living in Broome County is 83.4, considerably lower than the U.S. average of 100, which might make facility living more affordable for area seniors due to lower housing and grocery costs. Seniors can also expect to pay less for healthcare and transportation in the county.
