I am a friend or relative of a resident

The Crossings Blacksburg is brand new, very pretty, and nice. My husband is in the memory care unit. Each person has their own bedroom with an entryway and a bathroom. You can have a private room, but I did not want a situation where there were two men in 1 room. The staff all seemed extremely nice and very interested in what they were doing. All the staff members -- whether they were aides or kitchen staff or front desk -- were all very open, friendly, and good with the residents. My husband seems very happy with the food. They have exercise class in the morning, and they offer occupational therapy and physical therapy. They have a room where they congregate and could be described as a great room or a community room. It has very nice set of couches and chairs, and that room is also where the memory care residents eat. It's very nice and attractive. There is a fenced in outside area where you can go out and walk around or sit outside, and the residents will not be able to exit. They can't go outside. The doors have keypads, so you can't get in or out of the unit without one of the staff using the keypad.
