We looked at Holiday Grasslands Estates. The only problem with that was the rooms were smaller, and the meal plan was included in the monthly price. So, we couldn't save money if we provided the groceries. There was no way to get the cost down. What I liked best is they had private balconies off of the room so that you could get outside on your balcony, have a place to sit and get fresh air, and just watch nature. What I liked the least was that the meal plan was included. All of the employees we had contact with were very friendly and answered all the questions. They were just super. They had a dining area, and it seemed like they had an on-site little clinic-type thing where they could get some very minor medical attention if they needed it.

Holiday Grasslands Estates was very nice. It's lovely and well kept. There was a two-bedroom apartment that was right off the parking lot, which was quite convenient, but our dogs are just too big. The staff was very accommodating. We had lunch and it was quite lovely. That's where we talked to some ambassadors; they were people who live there. They told us the ins and outs and ups and downs. They had different floor plans. We got an activities calendar and a menu and everything that was coming up. They were very thorough about making sure we knew everything we needed to know and answering our questions. The staff was very knowledgeable and very kind.

I like Holiday Grasslands Estates very much. I like the facilities that they have and everything. I was very much appreciative of them. But my problem is they're more expensive than what I can pay. The apartments were very adequate; I was very much pleased with what I saw. I saw their amenities, but at this time in my life, I don't need those things. Anyone a little bit younger than I am and does not have the problems that I have with walking and so forth would appreciate that. I was very much impressed with that. The menu was very good. I felt that the meals were well coordinated and so forth. I found the staff who assisted me to be very helpful. I'm not interested in activities. The only thing I was interested in was Bible studies and that kind of thing, and they have those as well.

I went to Holiday Grasslands Estates yesterday. I like their dining. They take care of all your meals for you. As a man, I was married for a long time until my wife passed away. That's an area I'm not too good at. So I appreciate that a lot. They seemed to have medical staff nearby. That's always a plus for anybody, especially senior citizens. The rooms were a little bit smaller than I expected. It's kind of expensive, but they do offer a lot, and it's a big community. I like something that's not quite as big. But overall, it's something I can live with. I got there around lunchtime and everybody was having lunch. So I didn't see a whole lot of other activity other than people interacting at lunch.

I visited Holiday Grasslands Estates. It's clean and it seems to be updated. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's nice. They have three square meals a day, a card room, game room, an exercise room, elevator, laundry, and linen. They pretty much got everything. The staff were good. They had a courtyard area; it's wintertime, so not really much to look at. It seemed like a pretty happy place. It didn't seem like there was anybody there that was miserable there or anything.

I got a full kitchen in the place I have right now, but at Holiday Grasslands Estates, they just had a little kitchenette. It's also three stories, and they only had one elevator. The food was good though, and the staff I met there was wonderful. They had a very good dining area with waiter service. They had a very nice fitness center, a community room, and quite a few other things. They had quite a bit of activities there. There were only a couple of things I didn't care for like the kitchenette, but everybody was nice to me. Everything looked really nice. The other two facilities I'm looking at were maybe like ten or 12 years old, and Holiday Grasslands Estates is probably about 20 years old, so it's a little older. They have to do a lot of upgrading. They should have some kitchens in some places, and maybe have another elevator too, because by the time you get three people with wheelchairs or walkers into the elevator, it has taken up a lot of time.

I would give Holiday Grasslands Estates a five, but it was apartment-style. It was within a building, but all of it was independent living. The grounds were excellent. The apartment was adequate. The staff was excellent. She was very welcoming and very informative. I liked her a lot. They had an exercise area and a hair salon.

I would highly recommend Holiday Grasslands Estates. The people I've met were awesome. I was shown all around the facility, met multiple people, went into different rooms, and all of them were super nice. The place was an excellent facility. They were willing to work with me on the financial aspect if I needed it. They went over and beyond what I would expect from somebody. They were just great, an awesome facility with awesome people working there. They had physical therapy there, and everything one could need. I saw some people eating while I was there, and I think the food looked really good.

I was able to visit the Holiday Grasslands Estates, I wasn't crazy about that place. It's an older place, that's what stood out. The apartments were smaller and had fewer amenities than the others I've toured, but it costs a lot less a month as well. The apartments were older style, like the '60s or '70s. The maintenance and upkeep looked nice, and the place was well taken care of. The dining area was also nice, it's like an upscale restaurant, and you can walk in and order what you like. The amenities were kind of limited, they don't have near as many amenities as the other places I saw. They have tour buses and all the usual activities. They have an outdoor space, but it's limited to apartments that have an outdoor patio. The staff who gave the tour was nice.

The best thing about Holiday Grasslands Estates was probably the friendliness of the residents. The staff during the tour was not the regular admissions lady. It was another person but she was very helpful in the information she provided. She also took me on a tour of the facility and showed me a sample apartment. They offer a variety of choices for every meal. You can choose between two different kinds of breakfasts, and two different kinds of lunches, and they have a third option as well. I wouldn't say the food was super good; it was satisfactory, but they offer a variety of choices. The dining area had been updated and it was clean and people sat at tables of four. There was an opportunity to visit with others at meals. The carpet in the hallways was not very clean, but otherwise, it was fine. Some things were not satisfactory. They did not have laundry facilities in the individual apartments. You had to use a group laundry, and they did not have an updated heating and cooling system. The other thing was there was only a single elevator on each floor.

We really liked Holiday Grasslands Estates but they didn't have assisted living, so we couldn't use it. We like the room, the view, the eating facilities and the cleanliness of the place. I was very impressed with the staff, they looked like they were very caring. They had plenty of activities to offer, a library, and arts and crafts room. They gave us some excellent cookies.

Sheila was very helpful and knowledgeable about the facility. We worked with her for several months and she did an amazing job of guiding us along. Although we did not end up at Grasslands (due to a personal circumstances and no fault of Grasslands), we would recommend getting in contact with them! They have an amazing facility and are reasonably priced.

Grasslands Estates was in really good shape, and the layout was really good. Everything was easy to find. They had stairs, and they have elevators, too. Like I'm disabled so I can't go up and down the stairs. They were clean. Everything looked like it was fixed very well and nice. For the amount of money they charge per month, they ought to be able to afford to keep them up nice. It was expensive. I could stay at a nice hotel then I would stay with them. They serve food, too, and they have all kinds of activities and things like that. They have a gym, and they have all this other stuff that's included. They have game night, they have billiards tables there where the guys get around and play billiards in the evenings, and they have movie nights. They have exercise classes, aerobics and yoga and things like that. They have like outings now and then. They'll take you out of town to go and do something somewhere, and they have a bus transportation system for all that. The staff was very good, very professional, and they answered every question I had, which was good, and so it helped a lot. I saw three of the rooms. I liked them all. I saw everything from the small ones to the medium to the big ones, and they were all nice. The apartments were nice. Everything seemed to be in very good shape. The bathrooms were super clean, and all the rooms were really clean. It felt like it was a secure, safe place to live. They had a lending library. They got a TV room where you can watch TV if you want to sit with other folks and watch TV. I'm sure there are some other places I didn't get to see there that day. The staff had a lot of appointments coming in. She had other people that were vendors and whatnot, and she didn't have alot of time to spend with me. She gave me as much time as she could, but her other appointments were coming in and I had to cut it short. But I was OK, I saw what I came to see. I wanted to see the apartments mainly. They had lots of activities. They have an activity director. She tries to do different things every month, make different programs, add new things and try to keep everybody busy doing something different. So that was nice that she would be there to plan as she goes. They're excellent. But it's $2000 a month and I can't afford it. I only make $1000 a month. All of them were very nice. Even the people that were working there that I wouldn't talk to would say hi when I walked by. They were very pleasant. They have a buffet sometimes where you just go get what you want. The day before you order your meals, they'll tell you what's going to be on the menu, and you can tell them which plate you want. They make two different plates because some people can't eat red meat, so they'll make white meat and red meat so you can pick what you need. I was very impressed with it. The apartment would have been just perfect for me for what I do. The only thing I didn't like is they don't allow cooking in the room.

I toured Grasslands Estates Independent Living. The appearance is excellent, and they are very caring people. My husband was with me, and he said, 'You know, I could stay here,' and I said, 'I could too.' It's just the atmosphere is just fantastic. The room is small. The living room area is small, but it has a nice bedroom, and it has a nice little veranda-type thing. You can go out and sit on this little porch thing. It was very nice, very nice. The person who assisted me was excellent. She was friendly and she explained everything. She showed us around and showed us different rooms. It was very nice. They have a library, some were playing cards, and that was about it. It was about 11:30, so probably people were getting ready to go to lunch. They have a chef there, the staff told us, and when we went to leave, they had this little bag with cookies in it. We got home and ate some of those cookies and I've never tasted a cookie quite like that cookie. It was fantastic. So I believe her when she said that they have a chef there. The place was clean, with no order, and it was fantastic. If I had to go, that's where I would like to go, and it's reasonable.

I toured Grasslands Estates. The entranceway and the dining room were nice, and they were going to get new carpet in it. The lady that showed me around was very, very good. We did have to wait on her for about 30 minutes, which did not make me happy. She was on the phone with a prospective resident. One hallway we went down, this is what I really would not like, that someone had three dogs and a cat, and the hallway we went down smelled so bad. It was awful. I don't like cats and dogs, but I understand they are a comfort to a lot of people. I can see one dog, maybe one cat, but three dogs and a cat. I would not want to live in a place that allowed that. The other thing I didn't like is that the apartment didn't have a stove. You can have a microwave, and they didn't have a dishwasher either. I know all the meals are served, but I still would like a stove. They did have a beauty shop, I think they had a library, and they had a game room.

I visited based on prices quoted on their website. Renter beware ! The listed price is based on the only ONE tiny room they have with no kitchenette or anything. As big as a walk in closet I’d say. But when I called before hand they said it was the price of a studio type apt. I do not believe they are honest people based on my experience.

I went to visit Grasslands Estates. I really liked it. If I could afford it, I would have probably gone through with it and rented it. The staff was very nice and encouraging about the place, and well informed about it. She didn't make me feel like I didn't belong there, so I felt OK. I liked the setup of the one-bedroom. The studios were a little small, and I'm used to a one-bedroom. I liked the fact that I didn't have to worry about cooking or anything like that. The menu was very good; I was impressed. The amenities looked OK, and there was plenty of light as far as outside. They had plenty of windows. The staff definitely had the knowledge of the place. The upkeep was very good.

Grasslands Estates is a very nice facility. It would be my first choice of the ones that I have looked at, if I was able to keep mom in independent living. I think they have a lot to offer, they have a lot of activities, and I think it's good that they have in-home care and hospice. The people who need to come in and help are right there in the facility. I saw a couple of one-bedroom apartments. One was empty, and one was furnished. They sent me pictures of a two-bedroom. I didn't go back and look yet, but they were very nice. The staff was very nice, very informative, and gave us a good tour. I liked her. It looked very good. I saw residents in the library, there was a walking group walking around, and the residents seemed to be participating and having a good time.

Grasslands Estates is a very nice facility. They didn't have anything on the ground floor, so Mom didn't wanna move up. They just showed the apartments they had available and they took me on a tour of the facility and showed me the kind of things that they offer. I like it there, but Mom just doesn't wanna move. I saw the TV room, the game room, pretty much that was it. They were a little smaller than I thought, and they weren't bad, but they were more like a tiny apartment. They weren't very big. Overall, the staff was very friendly. They seem to take care of everything.

It was felt the place is going downhill, staff don't wear mask properly nor do they disinfectant the building. My chair had jello on it for days before it got cleaned. Housekeeping barely clean your room, and they complain about their job duties. Activities their is no social distancing, all she cares about is throwing us all together at once. I feel unsafe when I'm near a residents who aren't wearing mask, this wasn't a problem couple months ago. Don't understand why these rules aren't not inforced anymore.

All She is concerned with is getting as much money from the elderly as quickly as possible. They will tell you anything you want to hear when you tour. Then as soon as you have signed and paid them including the non refundable community fee she doesn't comunícate with them.

The food at Grasslands Estates is good, and I would rate it a 5. I would rate the staff a 5, except for the manager and assistant manager, which I would rate a 3 because they're problematic and should never have been hired together. Aside from dealing with those two management employees, the living atmosphere in this community is beautiful. There's no basement, so if there's a tornado the best you can do is get on the stairwell and pray. The rooms are very up-to-date and nice, but slightly small and the refrigerators are small. They have a better, broader range of activities, like every week they have a fellow bring us to the movies.

I looked at Grasslands Estates. It was very nice, but I have absolutely no interest because the kitchen didn't have a stove and they didn't have options if I need more care. The grounds and facility were set up great. I was impressed that the residents had a balcony-style area. It was pretty good in the way it was laid out. I thought it seemed like the kitchen and dining area was a little far away, but everything else was fine. I think the main thing for improvement was the distance between the living quarters down to the main gathering area.

I visited this facility

I visited Grasslands Estates. I did not think they had a two-bedroom and two-bathroom facility. They take residents shopping and to doctor’s appointments. It was a very nice facility. It was brand new, and it was very clean. It seemed secure.

I visited this facility

Grasslands looked adequate but it has been a little while, things were showing their wear and tear and that looked depressing. The lady that showed me around was very helpful and kind. The people there were friendly. It looked like they had some nice programs to keep people interested. You got your total package of meals and they take care of your repairs. They’ve got recreation rooms, a place for movies and Sunday services. They’ve got people who were close to my age and the residents seemed to be enjoying their stay.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My parents moved in at Grasslands Estates. It’s in a nice area. Their room is about 1100 square feet. They enjoy dancing and visiting with other people. The food is good.

This facility mis represents many things. Many quality items have decressed the last 3 years. Rent is automatically requested to increase about 6% per year. The Cheif prepared meals is possibly a Baker. The many free quality activities are mostly resident accomplished and bingo is provided 2 times a week at a charge. There is wee bowling which is 3 or 4 people and no staff, exercises that a lot of the time is led by a resident, card and board games which consist of guess just getting to gether them selves to play and occasional a performer will come in for an hour. The fine meals are questionable with usually the larger at lunch and sandwiches or such for dinner. Rent is charged at ful price each month but if for some reason, yours or the facilities you are off property for extended time or deprived of services as advertised there is no reinversement. Think twice about this facility and do not expect to see the nice lady or Gent that shows you the facility at open house. She dissapears after signing the contract.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother lived at Grasslands for six years after moving from her own house. Mom truly felt at home at Grasslands. It was nearly new when she moved in ten years ago, and the property was always maintained well. The spacious dining hall serves three meals daily, with attention to nutrition and flavor. The residents make a social occasion of every meal. There is a variety of apartments sizes, from studios to two-bedroom units, all with kitchettes. Grasslands has live-in managers who mix with the residents routinely, even serving the buffet breakfast on Sunday. Managers tend to rotate to other facilities in the Holday group on approximately a yearly basis, but we found almost all of them to be genuinely cheerful and helpful. Mom had a number of friends at Grasslands, with card games a favorite. The facility had a bus and provided transportation for shopping, doctor's appointments, and frequent fun outings. My mother only left Grasslands because her health failed.
