I visited this facility

I was very impressed with my tour at Elite Lodge of Ashworth. They do everything possible to keep people there in terms of meeting their needs. When we toured, somebody asked about a different table to do a puzzle on because they had a glass table and it was reflective. And they said they'll get them that and they meant it. I was very impressed with the person who gave us the tour, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The apartments or flats or suites were very spacious. They had a lot of amenities as far as things there that would help people. There was banking, a library, and different resources. So I was very impressed with them. The meals are included if you wanted them. They have the staff try to help people stay in their homes as long as possible, while in some other places they might have had to relocate because of their health deteriorating. So I think they went above and beyond to try to keep their people and I was impressed with that. Everyone we met there was very friendly and seemed to like the facility. The grounds were very pretty and you could take a walk without going outside because of the size of it. We were favorably impressed. It's an older facility but it's in really good shape, and their rooms were some of the most spacious we've seen.

We like that Elite Lodge of Ashworth is close to everything. They had 12 acres of land that was beautifully laid out, it was a beautiful place. Their staff is very friendly and very accommodating, and we just got an overall good feeling from them. Their activities were adequate, they had the woodworking and had the woodwork things up. It was fairly impressive.

Provider Response

We appreciate the kind review and comments. It is always a great time to start looking and we have fabulous suites available for immediate move-in or others you can customize to your very tastes. Flexible pricing, warm environment, call Dirk to set-up a tour today. All the best!

We visited The Lodge of Ashworth. I liked the fact that it's privately owned. The staff was incredibly friendly. Everything was focused on the residents. They've thought of everything just to meet their needs, and the residents seemed very happy while we were there. They have great facilities. They have everything that you can imagine that you need, but the rooms and the kitchens are a little bit dated. The staff member who showed us around was great, very kind, and very resident-focused. We did our tour on a Saturday, and he was there on a Saturday. We did not eat the food, but he said that the chef has been there for 16 or 17 years, or for an extended period of time. The food is rated really well. One of the reasons why we're hesitant about this facility is that my father has a food allergy, and they don't necessarily accommodate food allergies. They have a pool.

Provider Response

Thank you for taking the time to respond and consider The Lodge. We are sincerely interested in earning your business. We continue to pay special attention to what our valued clients want and do everything we can to meet and surpass their expectations. We are delighted to offer visits in the evenings and on weekends to better fit the work schedules of children and family members. Thank you once again for your positive feedback.

The people at The Lodge of Ashworth were very friendly, they provided lots of information, and they were very patient about me asking questions. It was a nice facility. The only issue was that their pricing is somewhat confusing because it's a buy-in model. The buy-in number is usually not based on anything except what the person who lived there wants. They were wonderful; they did a great job at explaining things. The rooms that I saw were in the process of being renovated. The average length of stay is fourteen years. They probably have the most of anybody that I've seen or read about. They have a dining room with a continental breakfast and a choice of lunch or dinner. They have an indoor pool, a walking path, water aerobics with instructors coming in, an exercise room with instructors coming in, and a library with lots of conversation nooks. They also have heated underground parking, which is nice. We didn't try the food, but I have heard from other people that it's excellent.

Provider Response

Thank you for your visit and feedback. Our pricing model is structured on 24 different floor plans giving a new buyer many options and flexibility given their financial foot print. We too, understand this is one of the biggest and most important decisions to make and are honored to be part your transition. We look forward to many joining The Lodge family when the time is right for you!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I lived in The Lodge of Ashworth. It's a fine community, it depends on how active you want to be, we get fed like a country club every night, we have card games, pool parties, and we go on a lot of outings that cost next to nothing which is enjoyable for a while if people don't drive anymore, but I'm still working. I only participate in 3 activities. The staff bend over backwards to help any and all members out no matter what the job is. The outside structure of the building had to be taken care of, I had some issues with rotting windows, but the inside was taken care of nicely. I had a 2-bedroom apartment, it needed to be updated, and they had been doing that.

I liked that The Lodge of Ashworth was very large and had a lot of activities for the seniors. We really liked the square footage and how everything was laid out in their apartments. They would rebuild the apartment if you wanted it a certain way. The downfall was that you had to sign a year's lease agreement. They required first, last, and deposit upfront. The dining room was very large. It was an older complex, but everything had been updated. There wasn't a smell. All of the carpets were fresh, nice, and new. We looked through three different apartments and everything was brand new. They had an emergency call button in the apartment, which really impressed me. The director and everybody were super nice.

We looked at the apartments in the Lodge. The staff I talked to was very friendly. They have studios and from small bedrooms to 2 bedrooms with two bathrooms. Some of the rooms were newer; most had a buy-in, and some you could lease. In general, they all had a balcony. There was an elevator, a parking garage, a pool, and a Jacuzzi for the residents. The staff in the dining room were all very friendly, and they had a buffet there.

Lodge of Ashworth was very nice and very well-kept. The staff was excellent. Everybody was very cordial and informative. They have small apartments, they have large ones, and a lot other different accommodations. They have exercises, they take people on outings, and other regular routines to keep people active. They also have people come in to perform. It's large and it's accessible to get to. It has a lot of perks. Everything was great.

I am still thinking whether or not to move in Iowa to be closer to my son and daughter in-law since they will be moving to Iowa. Still, we would want things to be ready by the time we make a decision. We inquired at The Lodge and they right away gave us the information that we need. We visited their facility and it was quite nice. They have a gym which I couldn't do everything. They have an indoor swimming pool and this is something that I could use. It's very homey and has flowers and trees around.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

the lodge of ashworth is a great place to spend a retirement. the houseing and staff are knowledgable and they take very good car for you while you are there. in addition to that, the facilities at the lodge of ashworth are second to none and you'll be sure to have hours and hours of fun with you family and friends. the ammentities are numerous and one of my relatives favorite thing was to have her helper come into her room every day and just talk to her and maker her life easier. my family member however did not really like the location of the lodge of ashworth. in sumation, the lodge of ashworth is a great place to spent your retirement. like it shows in the comercials, it is a fun place for all ages. not just retirees. I would recomend the lodge of ashworth to anyone and everyone. it is a great place to live and a great place to sit back and relax and spend your last years.
