I visited this facility

I toured Pine Village Retirement Communities. Their apartments were nice. It's very clean and in great shape. They have a gym and different game rooms. They have all kinds of things for senior people. They have a lot of outings. It would be perfect for my mother-in-law. I toured the independent living, but they could add assisted living at any point in time. You don't have to move; you're in one place. The staff members were very welcoming, very nice, and very knowledgeable. They have one-bedrooms; it was all one-bedroom. The facilities are very nice. I wish my mother-in-law would go there, I think it would be great.

I visited this facility

I really didn't like Pines Village Retirement Communities at all. It was very old and very dated. Part of it was just not well-maintained. For example, one of the apartments we saw had an outside entrance, like a patio door, and the patio door on the outside looked like it was rotten. It just didn't look fresh and clean, and the person that was speaking to us just didn't seem very professional. She couldn't answer a lot of our questions. For example, the amount of care and how many nurses, etc. She was kind of vague about how often the nurses were there. She actually had to call somebody else in to answer the questions, and I understand she is not the person that would normally do the tour, but it was kind of awkward to have to go get somebody else to answer all of her questions. We just did not get a good impression right at the beginning. Also, it is not a licensed facility. The location was fine. It was right in the area that we were looking for. People could live there. It just didn't seem to suit our needs.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

If you're looking for a retirement community that provides solid management, kind staff, plenty of activities, healthy meals, a sense of community for the residents, and peace of mind for the family, look no further than Pines Village. My grandmother lived here for 5 years and it was such a blessing to her and to my family. We knew she was in the best hands until the very end. She was a social butterfly, so the dining hall, organized activities, game rooms, and beautiful outdoor walking path were just a few of the amazing amenities that contributed to her health and happiness. Pines Village allowed my Grandma to keep her independence but provided us family members with the comfort of knowing help was just around the corner if she needed it. My family couldn't recommend Pines Village more!

My mom has been living here for 6 years now. She moved in when she was very independent. She has needed more help as the years have passed. They have given me the options i need to assist her a small amount and allow me to provide most of her care. She loves it there! Making new friends and having people she can visit has been the best thing for her. For me i have a much better peace of mind knowing she is safe. I don't have to worry about power outages or meals for her. I also know if she falls that she has an emergency call system to get help. They staff have always been so nice and helpful. Lastly they did a wonderful job during covid!

Pines Village was overwhelming because it was very large and a little hard to navigate especially for an elderly person. I think they could get lost a little easy in there. The staff who toured us was great, very helpful, friendly, and always responsive to our emails. The dining areas look very cafeteria-style and wasn't warm and inviting. They had a main dining area and they had a smaller dining area in a different area of the facility. From where the apartments are placed, it takes quite a while to get to the main dining area. The place is very clean and neat, but the layout is way too big and confusing for elderly people.

I visited this facility

My experience with Pines Village was absolutely wonderful. I was very impressed with the rooms. They're one of the lowest priced in the area for independent living and apartments, but assisted living is what I'm looking at. They had two buses that take people anywhere they need or want to go. They have it all. If you want to go out for dinner, they'll put a sign-up sheet and pick where they're going. They take you to your doctor's appointment, visit your friends, or anywhere you want to go. The dining areas were huge and beautiful, and there's one in each building. They had different facilities for each style of living. In the assisted living, they had a little cafeteria where you can go and have a sandwich or ice cream. I spoke with quite a few of the residents, and they're so friendly. I'm disabled and walk with a walker, so I think they thought I was moving in or something. Everybody comes up and says "hello" and "how are you?" I'm impressed. I used to eat there years ago when my dad was there, and it was great. When you're ready to move in, they invite you to come out and have a meal and see what it's all about. You can have one, two, or three meals a day. It's up to you what you decide you want to do. They had gardens outside. Some of them were enclosed for people with Alzheimer's, but they're completely lined with shrubs and flowers and bushes. People can just go and sit and enjoy and be outside with their relatives or friends.

My sister lives in Pines Village, and its a very nice place. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They have card games, bridge, exercise room, puzzles. and they go take a bus and go out to eat and do different things. They also have a beauty parlor and a gym. I think it’s fine and good. It’s clean. I guess it’s fairly large. I thought it had a homey atmosphere.

Pines Village was flexible and had a lot of different offerings so we could pick and choose. It was independent, but it had an assisted living aspect to it. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were all a little bit different, and they had a variety of different options. They had an exercise room -- which was another appealing thing. They had a couple of different cafeterias. They had a little store in there and a bank. They had some extras where you could buy massages and things like that too. It looked very clean.

We were in the process of taking my mother in Pines Village to have her check out the location, and she backed out. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I thought the rooms are ideal, and it was affordable. Out of all of the three facilities we visited, we thought the Pines Village was the best choice; the residents were friendly and seemed happy.

I visited this facility

I have visited the Pines and I have friends living there. The staff that I met was very cordial. They have a studio apartment in which your bed is in the same room as your living space. And then they have a one bedroom apartment which is very nice. They also have a two-bedroom apartment. All of them have a kitchen. The dining services are very well planned and nutritious. They have an exercise room, a game room, a very fine art museum, and a little library. They also have a reading group for people who want to discuss books. They also have a regular worship service and then they have a bus service that takes you wherever you want to go in town.

Pines Village had a more of a home feeling. They have gardens and pines, bus service and a small cafe. They have aging in place and whatever apartment they live in they can be independent residents and if they need assisted living they can stay in the same apartment. My aunt and uncle have a one-bedroom apartment with a patio, small kitchenette and a large handicap bathroom. They have PHBs that the residents wear and if they need help they can push the PHBs. They have aides, nurses and case managers 24 hrs a day. They have chef prepared food, outings to different places, theaters, casinos and they have church every Sunday. I can't say anything bad about Pines Village.

The Pine village atmosphere was very nice. You can choose apartments whether with a balcony or a patio. The apartments come with a furnished kitchenette and you can cook your own dinner there. The rooms were clean, bright, well-designed and well-furnished. They have a service that would take you to town everyday. The staff was friendly and sociable. The facilities were worthwhile that you can do what you want to do without supervision. They have activities and entertainment set up that you would not end up sitting at home or anything like that. Safety measures are also in place for your protection. I plan to move there after I sort out things because of my operation.
