I am the daughter of a current Resident. My mother decided to move into Independent after doing a temporary respite stay in the assisted living. She had an accident that made her realize she doesn't want to wait till she needed to be put straight into a nursing home. the rehab we were at recommended Mountain View. when we toured the residents were playing volley ball! Gave us a good feeling. the lady we worked with made sure to answer every question and that we were aware of everything we needed to know about the facility. the facility was so nice and clean, showed that the staff took pride in the building. everyone I passed was very nice, everyone always had a smile! the floor plans were also a very great lay out, and what really helped is they had an emergency furniture respite set up for those who need a little stay/or try it before you make it official. that really showed they knew the kind of community and quality of what they offered to their Residents. we had lunch and wow the food was great, we even took mom a to go plate so she could try it at the rehab. Mom was going to discharge in 2 days from the rehab so we were short on time and thought we were going to be under a lot of pressure because she was not able to go back home immediately. The staff... they took care of the whole move, medical paperwork setting up apartment. there were only a few easy things I needed to bring in. they made it so easy for us, and allowed us to just focus on mom. when mom moved in she is a shy and forgetful at first so they assured me she will be taken care of getting around the community, going to the many activities and events they offer, and even had a welcome committee for her! The Resident who helped welcome her ended up becoming best friends with my mom! the care she got was amazing, not only to her but what you could see was given to the other residents, of course there were busy days mom wasn't the only resident but I seen they did there best to get to her and make her feel comfortable when they went to help her with almost anything she needed! people from independent and assisted all still socialized with one another. after my mom 30 day stay, she healed up and ready to go home, surprisingly 3 days before she said she doesn't need another accident like this to happen to put her forever in a nursing home or even something worse.. so she said independent is what she knows she is wanting after her time at mt.view and accident. and if ever come the time she needs to go to assisted she knows this place would be her last move because how well they took care of her during her time of need. I travel a lot so to know even in independent they are still making sure she gets up in the morning and still watch them was a very big relief. my mom is now going on 6 month anniversary and she has been almost the happiest I've seen her since my dad past. she has the socialization when she wants it, quietness where apartments are when she needs it, activities, and the good food. you really wont go wrong placing your family here! I cant thank mt.view enough.
