The people at Allegro Hyde Park were fabulous and the community is lovely. The food was fine, for the two meals that I sampled there. They had an apartment ready for me that is very clean and very adequate. It's small, it's 503 square feet, but it has a bedroom, a bathroom, a full kitchen with a dishwasher, a stackable washer and dryer, and a full refrigerator. The kitchen was lovely and it has a living room so it's quite adequate for me. The staff was so accommodating. It was just my pleasure to be there to see it. I hated to walk out but I had to go back to my apartment and start packing up so I could move there already. They have so many activities. They have a calendar that comes out every month and there are so many things to do. There are lectures and classes, they have a lovely pool that's heated, and they have water aerobics. They have book clubs, a room with card tables, and every afternoon they have a happy hour from 3 to 5 in their bar, which usually draws a big crowd. I was there to see it twice and I just could not believe how welcoming the people were. I signed up yesterday and I gave them my first month's rent. What they have is an independent living and assisted care living. They all live together so that's 140 lovely units. They also have a full-time staff. Even the staff in the restaurant came over to welcome me. I went there for two lunches, and I just found the food suitable for senior living. It was fine and they tried to vary the menu every day for dinner. I just have to get used to eating food that seniors eat. The staff was very efficient and perfect. No sooner than I got there and handed them my check for me to move, my name was already on the apartment door. Each apartment has the resident's name on it so if you knock on somebody's door, you know whose door you're knocking on. I'm very anxious to move in there full-time, which I will do before this month is over, but everybody there was so lovely and so welcoming so this is something I'm looking forward to.

Allegro Hyde Park has delicious cuisine. The people were very friendly and very nice. They have a lot of activities. The apartments are not much more than a thousand square feet, and that's not much when you have a big man in a wheelchair. The staff was wonderful. Everything was very nice there. If I were by myself without my husband, I might like to stay in there. It's much more cheerful than the other facility. The swimming pool was out of order the day I was there. The facility is very nice and clean.

Allegro Hyde Park has independent and assisted living facilities. We had a very good lunch there. The room they showed me was small. It's expensive, but it had lots of things to offer. They had gyms, swimming pools, activities, that kind of stuff.

I've already put my mother in Allegro Hyde Park. We chose it because it was the nicest facility in town in terms of the amenities, the quality of the rooms, the size of the rooms, the care that they provide because my mother still needs physical therapy, and the quality of the food. They have their own chef, and the quality of the food is excellent. It's a little more expensive than a few of the other places we looked at, but there was no comparison between the quality of the rooms and all the amenities. It has libraries and a lot of places outdoors where they can sit and enjoy the fresh air. There are about 150 residents in there right now. They have a list of activities every week. They have a theater where they have movies, church services, craft activities every day, transportation to doctors' offices and other places they may want to go. Her room is beautiful, with all granite tabletops and brand new appliances. It has laminated wood floors, which were easy to move a wheelchair or walkers around on, and bathrooms that are set up so you can get in and out very easily from the showers. She's in a 1-bedroom apartment there. It's about an 11-year-old facility and everything's clean, new, and well maintained. The pricing is fair.

Allegro Hyde Park was very nice, but the view outside wasn't good. The parking for the visitors was also not very good. It's a fairly new place, and the staff who assisted me was nice. It's a little expensive, but the rooms are nice, and the facilities are also very nice.

The biggest reasons we selected Allergro Hyde Park are the location, that they have very upscale quality service, and because the community is a newer building with state-of-the art amenities. Everybody was very friendly, the staff members knew a lot about the residents and they even called them by name. They have a very nice dining room and their chef is well-known in the area. The building has high ceilings and nice wood floors, they have a pool, beauty salon, a very nice craft room, and there's a lot of activities. The public spaces are also very nice. They have a snack bar and a coffee bar that's available 24 hours a day. It's a beautiful community.

My dad has lived at Allegro for a year now and I am so happy he's here. The facility is beautiful, the staff are so very special, going out of their way to help all residents feel happy and comfortable. Each time I visit I'm welcomed by name and get to know more of the residents. It's a happy place to visit and I'm relieved to know he's safe, secure and happy.

The tour at Horizon Bay (Horizon Bay Hyde Park) was very nice. I like the place very much. I had intended to move there, but I have decided to stay in my home. I gave them $500 deposit in May, and it is refundable. I have filled out a paper and sent them the check, and they said they will send me the check. Here we are in August, and I haven't gotten anything back. I have decided to stay here, and we have told them that several times. They know that I'm not going to move. Horizon Bay is a very nice place. I like it very much. It's very clean. It has a beautiful dining room. It has like a playroom, and it has a bar up on the 5th floor. Rooms are very clean. I really do like the place. It is near University of Tampa where I used to go to school.

Horizon Bay at Hyde Park looked like a really expensive assisted living facility. Appearance-wise, it was really well-arranged and organized. The people living there seemed to be happy and pleased. The facility looked more high-end, and it was very well-equipped. One resident graciously offered to let me see her room, and it looked spacious. The room had a cooking facility, which I thought was a very good thing. The fixtures seemed to be more modern. The room looked much more spacious than the rooms at other facilities I had visited. Horizon Bay had a cafeteria that you could go to and get snacks. They took residents out shopping, so the facility had its own little vehicle for that purpose. The place was very well-located, and it was close to a hospital, which was good. They had a panel of doctors visiting them frequently. The staff was very knowledgeable.

We saw Horizon Bay at Hyde Park. It was very nice but more expensive. The visit was good, though we didn’t get to meet many people. The head food service person did not come and greet us, so we just sat by ourselves at a table. It was OK and not a bad feeling. We saw the apartments, which had very nice balconies.

I liked Horizon Bay, it’s very nice. The dining area was very clean, neat, and the whole place was very nice. They staff did medical stuff which include distribution of medicines. The staff was very nice to me.

Horizon Bay at Hyde Park is a relatively new community about four or five years old. It had a couple of amenities that the other community I visited did not have. It has a movie theater, a pool, and its own dining room with its own menu. It also has a lounge on the sixth or seventh floor. It is a big place with its own relatively large balcony. I think it initially started out to be for residents just looking to relocate to a community because they were tired of maintaining a home. They are now catering to clients that require assistance. They have now home-help aides that are attached to the clients. It is clean, and it is impressive when you walk in. The people are kind and receptive too.

Horizon Bay - Hyde Park was most impressive. It was a different feeling there; it was more uptown, more luxurious. The rooms, I believe, had amazing kitchens if you wanted that. I said, "If you don't want a kitchen, can you alleviate that?" And they said that they could take the oven out, but you would still have the pantry. They were most accommodating on that. The views weren't the best, but there was so much to do, and if you had the curtains, they were light; they were not dark and depressing like many motels, hotels, boarding houses, and hospitals are. But it was light and airy, there was room, and you didn’t feel like you were in an ALF or the old perception of an ALF from years gone by. It was very nice, very nice indeed. Sanitation was very good; I did not smell any urine, unlike some of the other ALFs that I have visited. It was exceedingly clean, and yet there was not a presence of maids hovering over you every five feet or anything. It was very tastefully done; it was nice and clean, the outside gardens were beautiful, and the whole thing was wonderful. They also have a floor that has the sports television, and it has a bar and entertainment, pool tables, they have entertainers come in, and they take the people down to the convention center for some of the concerts and things like that, so I think that one was just amazing.

We did visit Horizon Bay, and I like them a lot. The reason why we didn?t go with this facility is that they really don?t have an independent living apartment. They have some that they call independent, but it is still more like assisted. The rooms didn?t have any kitchens, and that is not what we are looking for. The staff who accommodated us were very nice. The facility is in a nice location, too.

The rooms are like apartments with a complete kitchen in Horizon Bay. It was very majestic. The food was excellent. They have various dining rooms. We could have chosen this but it was a bit far from my son.

We moved my mom in Horizon Bay-Hyde Park about the middle of March. Though she will never be comfortable but in her own home, she is doing okay there. It's not that large of a facility. They have a variety of apartments, single-bedrooms, double-bedrooms. They also have a suite available. It includes a refrigerator, a burners and stove. The apartments and suite are very nice. Once a week they do laundry for the residents. Meals are available three times a day and coffee available 24 hours a day. They have exercises every morning at 10am. They also do field trips like grocery shopping or banking.

This facility is exceptional. My mother-in-law has been very happy with her stay. She is well enough to live independently, but still needs some care. The grounds and facility itself is incredibly upscale and beautiful. I wish I lived there, it's better than our one bedroom apartment in Carollwood. We go there to swim with her often, its a nice area where you can relax outside with your guests. My mother-in-law has been involved in lots of the activities they offer. They offer art classes and other classes to keep the residents busy. Since my father-in-law passed away, my MIL has been lonely and depressed. But since putting her in this facility she has perked up considerably and her health is doing much better. This is a really really great facility.

We're very pleased with Horizon Bay Hyde Park. My sister is living there. It's one of the best I've seen for people who want to live independently within a facility and come and go. My sister is 70 and unable to drive. Other than having older people there with walkers and some in wheelchairs and assisted companion care, it's a very good place for her and she's near her daughter.

The first thing I noticed when pulling up to Horizon Bay at Hyde Park was how beautiful the outside of the facility was and the grounds were picturesque. The location was amazing and the view was outstanding. When I walked into the facility I thought I was walking into a 5 star hotel. The lobby was beautifully furnished and quite comfortable to visit with the residents or just sit and read a book or magazine. They have an internet café where you can grab coffee, etc., and use your laptop or visit with other residents or visitors. The dinning room is very roomy and comfortable and the food was outstanding as I was offered lunch while I was there. There is another roomy dinning room for the residents that need a little assistance with their meals, and both dinning rooms have large windows in order for the residents to be able to look outside while enjoying their meals. Horizon Bay at Hyde Park also offers a swimming pool for the residents with a veranda that the residents can sit and visit, have drinks, etc., in between swimming. When the residents are not at the pool, you may find them in the Lounge where they can socialize, play pool or maybe engage in a game of chess, and if you would like to do something at night, then the residents can go up to the rooftop veranda and watch the skyline of Tampa or the view of Tampa Bay. There are many activities that the residents can be involved in such as art classes, bridge tournaments or theatre trips after dark. Horizon Bay at Hyde Park also offers transportation to appointments in a chauffer driven Mercedes
