I visited this facility

Grand Manor was very nice. It was economical and it had independent living. The thing I'm looking for is the ability for my sister-in-law to be able to step out of her home and smoke on a patio or a balcony, and this place has such a thing. It was reasonably priced, too. It felt very family-oriented. I interviewed some people there, and they liked the food. They liked the community. I am considering this one. They have a guest dining room, a library-sitting room, and a theater with a large-screen TV where people sit and watch television programs. It's very comfortable. They have a big grand piano in the dining room where they bring entertainment a couple of times a week. They go to Walmart once a week, which is my sister-in-law's favorite store, which is great. They will take you to doctor's appointments. Medications can be delivered by the local pharmacy and can be distributed to their apartments. What I liked was that she doesn't have to go to the dining room and that they will bring her meals, three meals a day, seven days a week. However, it's an older facility and it needs some upgrading. With regards to the staff, they were incredibly friendly. I met some of the servers, they're young, very helpful, and smiling. The manager was very focused on making sure that it was a place that would work for my sister-in-law. She asked me her story, and so she thought it would be a good fit. The place is clean but aging. I think that the apartment could use a new carpet at some point. I think they could re-grout the shower, at least in the one that I visited. I like that there was zero-level entry into the walk-in shower, so no tripping hazards. So a fresh coat of paint and new carpeting here and there are needed in this particular apartment. Out in the dining room, the chairs are a little worn, too.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I've been with Grand Manor for almost four years now. The best part here was the price. It is not really for profit. 22 years ago, a nice gentleman built this place and we have a really good lady working here and taking good care of us. It's a good facility. Everything's good here and I recommend this place. They do free meal services. If you don't want to come out or you just don't want to be social or in any way and you don't want to go downstairs to have a meal, they are free to deliver three meals to you. Other places probably do not have this kind of service. Inside, each floor has two laundry rooms. It's a three-floor building. It's beautiful inside and outside. There's a garden outside and a sidewalk along the building for independent people. They got one bedroom, two bedrooms, and a studio. They have a pretty decent price because you are talking about three meals a day, free utility, and free water and we have a cleaning lady once a week. I checked all the places and no other place is like this. Everybody worked hard. They got COVID on, and nobody quit. Everybody took good care of us. The food is excellent. I am from Taiwan, so I don't care about American food, but if you love desserts, this is heaven. Every day, every meal, they got a different dessert. They also have something for diabetic people so food is again excellent. The activities are pretty good. Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have free doctor visits. Once a month, they do a casino trip. Also, some go to the pub for music concerts. It's pretty good. They give you a nice choice.

I visited this facility

I toured Grand Manor. If I could afford it, I would jump ship and go back there because it was nice. It's high-end but it's the least amount of money. It was very, very economical. It's beautiful. The people were super nice. The accommodation was huge. It got a little closet and a dining area. It didn't have an oven, but you could buy a burner. It got a huge pantry, and then it had a balcony to die for. It had heat and air, and it got a big bathroom that's wheelchair accessible. It was just lovely. They have church services, happy hour, bingo, arts and crafts, and outings. They pick out a lunch place to go to out once a month, and they go out on a bus to eat. The community was very homey and appealing. They had family names and pictures all up on the walls. They had a table area for the puzzle people. On each floor, there's a little nook where you could read books. It has a grand piano in the middle of the floor. It's a nice place. I had a meal there. You can have your choices of meals, and if you didn't particularly like something, you can always have grilled cheese, soup or salad, or whatever.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother lived in Grand Manor. It was decent, she liked it there, but she got stuck in the bathtub a couple of times, so they felt like she needed to have more assistance. They had a lot of activities and she liked the food there; she had no complaints about the food. She had a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, which had a microwave but no stove. They also had efficiency apartments also. She liked the staff there. They can walk around the building, but there's no courtyard. It's a very nice community, but it's too big, so there's a lot of walking.

Grand Manor was wonderful. The lunch we had was delicious, and we had a lot of fun playing Scrabble. The people were very engaging, and the staff was very friendly. They have exercise and art classes, writing a book class, fun things, and lots of entertainment. The people are very happy. They have an exercise room, libraries, lots of places to read books, chess, and puzzles in the hallway. They have something to do all the time. The place is decorated in the cutest way. My friend is in a studio. They also have a deluxe that has one bedroom and a balcony.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I visited a couple of friends at Grand Manor over the years. It's fairly new. It's built within the last ten years. It has more of a formal setting. When you go in, the dining room tables all have centerpieces and tablecloths. You have to walk so far to get to the rooms, so that would be a problem. The rooms were very clean. You have to be pretty much independent to live there. They have no nursing care or anything. The people that I know who live there like it. The have entertainment and card games. They have something going if you want to go in and participate. She had a refrigerator, a microwave, a small sink, and a small kitchenette. They tell me the food is good. I went in the front door. To the right was the office, and there was a large baby grand piano. To the left, there were the tables set with tablecloths and flowers on the tables. I proceeded down the hall to my friend's room. The staff was very nice. The people like it very much and are very impressed with it. I just visited the one room that my friend moved in to, and she had a large bedroom, a very nice bath, and a large living room sitting area with sliding doors leading out to her back patio. She's 99 now, and she had to move upstairs to a studio. It was a very pretty white stone brick building and large columns out in front with a large overhang for picking people up and dropping them off. It's very attractive.

My sister-in-law lives in Grand Manor. It is very nice, well-kept, and very pleasant. It has a nice, large dining area. She has a nice apartment with one bedroom, kitchenette, a bath, and living room. It is very nice. It has a nice, open dining area. I will recommend them.

Grand Manor is beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous, but it's very big, and there are a lot of hallways, so I think Mother would be confused by walking around. The staff is very nice, and they followed up on the tour, too. They have an activity room and a chapel. They have movies, trips, and shopping. They drive people to church.
