I visited this facility

I went to tour Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living and met Chloe. They have very nice apartments; very nice and clean. I like the open concept of the one she showed me. The dining area looks really elegant. I will say that that's definitely an upscale looking community. The menu is kind of like when you go to a restaurant. They show you what's offered for that day, and when you sit down in the dining area you order your meal as if you were at a restaurant. It's very nice. Their indoor pool is a plus for me. It's a nice temperature so it was always a comfortable setting of the water. This one is all inclusive and everything is included, so that's that's why the price is higher than the other communities I saw. Their price is above what I can pay, but I think it's a nice facility for those who are able to do that. They offer garages, and not every community offers that. They have a lady that greets you when you walk in, and as soon as she greets you she offers you something to drink, and they put you in a comfortable seat while you wait, and they greet everyone you know with a welcoming smile. When I was over there, some residents just came back from an outing, and they look like they went to a luau. They were dressed really pretty and had the little flowers around their neck. They looked like they had a good time. They got off the shuttle, but I don't know where this event was held. So, it looks like they have some nice little outings for them.

The tour at Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living was very well conducted. Chloe escorted us around the place. The one-bedroom was pretty small, and the two-bedroom ones were adequate for what I needed. They had libraries, a dining room, and activity rooms. I met some caretakers and cleaning staff. They were very friendly.

I visited this facility

Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living was nice, but it was expensive. It was more than what I could actually afford. The apartments were beautiful and spacious. I only met one staff member, and that staff member was very, very friendly. They had a long list of activities for the month, so they stay very active. They had a library, card games, movies, other types of games, and a sitting room to just sit and socialize. They could leave and do activities off grounds. They have a van for transportation. I liked the balcony and the apartment. I liked the spacious area and the setup. As you walk around inside, the residents just seemed to be really, really relaxed. They seemed at home and totally happy. The facility was very clean and very well maintained, as well as the grounds inside and out. I saw really pretty flower beds outside. This place was actually my favorite.

I visited this facility

My wife and I visited Landon Ridge Sugar Land. The people and the place were very good. They showed us all the amenities and the things that they have. The finances seemed to be reasonable. The only thing I didn't like about was the landscaping didn't seem to be too good, but it was during this time of the year when everything was brown and nothing was green yet. So, that may explain it, but generally, I was favorably impressed. They have all kinds of activities. They have a good exercise room. The people were very friendly. The dining room and menu looked very good and the situation concerning the meals seemed to be very good. That was something that I liked.

Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living was a very nice place. The residents that I met all seemed to love it there. They had a lot of very nice amenities, like a swimming pool, a workout room, and a theater. The staff was very nice, very knowledgeable, and helpful. They had a variety of apartments to choose from.

The young lady that toured me around Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living was very, very friendly, very professional and she knew her job. I had to knock on the door to get in. They had the front door locked, and some lady came and opened the door. She came out and introduced herself and gave me a brochure. We rode the elevator to the second floor. Before we got to the elevator, we went into the dining area. It's set up like going into a restaurant and it was nice. The place was kind of dark. It wasn't real bright. There were not a lot of windows on the front of the place where the sun was shining and it had a smell. It's a little bit too old for me. People were walking around. They spoke, and they were very nice. Everyone was friendly. It's just how you get a feeling about something like if you're shopping for a new house or a car when you see the one that gives you that oomph feeling. This didn't give me that oomph feeling. It's independent, but it's old. I wasn't impressed with it and it was way too expensive. The meals were either breakfast and lunch, breakfast and dinner, or lunch and dinner. You could only get two meals a day. There's no ala carte package. It's one amount, so whatever you don't need, you still have to pay for it. They don't have in-unit washers and dryers but they could put them in there, but if they break down, they're not going to replace them for you. It's too much money for nothing. The rooms were alright. They were kind of on the smaller side really, and I'm a person that has some good-sized furniture. They have a bus to take people if they want to go to the mall or something like that, but I have my own car, so I don't need that. The biggest thing that people do there was gather together to have a meal. I saw two elderly women sitting on a bench outside the little cafeteria kind of chitchatting.

My mom moved into Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living. We liked the fact they have the option to go over to assisted living, when (and if) that day comes; it'll be an easier transition. The staff is just amazing there. I love the staff. I love that you can add on services there if you need to. It's just a nice facility. The food always looks amazing. It's amazing to me. My father-in-law is there, and he loves it. They have tons of activities. They just did a trip to Galveston and had dinner on a boat.

I had a good experience with Landon Ridge Sugar Land. I liked the apartments. The place was clean and well maintained. They had an exercise room. It's been a while since I've been there, but they showed the dining room, the usual stuff like the bistro, and all the common areas.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother moved into Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living in May of 2019 after my father suddenly passed last April of 2019. On a recommendation from our family friend, we visited Landon Ridge knowing that Mom would have to downsize and move into a place where people were readily available to take care of her. The fact that my brother and I lived outside if Texas made it difficult for us to imagine Mom staying in her large home without Dad. After a tour of Landon Ridge, we decided right away to have Mom move in, as she liked a particular apartment, which was previously, a model apartment. Mom is on her 9th month at Landon Ridge, and we are so pleased and grateful for the staff's caring and individualized attention toward Mom -- they have been so accommodating to our family and have been there for Mom when she needed them most. The other residents made Mom feel completely welcome after she first moved in and was rather anxious about being there after such a trauma from Dad's sudden heart attack and passing. Mom has made many friends and continues to meet new people and enjoy the social time that they value. The facilities are also top-notch -- the swimming pool is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is ready to fix any problems the apartments may have (if a lightbulb goes out, or if she can't re-set the thermostat, etc.). The meals are well planned and healthy and the food is plentiful and soft for Mom's delicate teeth. They also offer storage rental so that Mom's things can be close by to her (hers are just the floor below, for example). They also allow rental of a life alert badge which Mom wears around her neck in case of emergencies. I do wish they used recycle-able take-away containers for people's leftovers at the meals, rather than styrofoam containers, but hopefully, they will be able to switch over soon. They also have daily activities (games, fitness classes, swimming sessions, dance, movies, etc.) that Mom has fun choosing from - it's way more than enough to keep her busy. I have joined Mom for meals and some activities while she was just moving in, and everyone is so supportive and encouraging; Mom felt very comfortable right away. We highly recommend Landon Ridge to anyone who cares for their loved ones but lives and works far away as my brother and I do. We know Mom is in good hands, and she is so comfortable there, that we are simply grateful that after our family's loss, Mom can enjoy her golden years in the company of such kind and caring people.

In Landon Ridge Sugar Land, they were supposed to give us lunch but they did not offer. It's a beautiful community but it's expensive, and it just didn't have the warmth that the others have. It just felt very cold. The 2-bedrooms that we saw were absolutely beautiful and had a lot more room than the place we chose. We felt a lot more comfortable on the other one. They had a waiting list. They had enclosed covered parking. As for the staff, we talked to that one young lady and she was business-like.

My mother stayed at Landon Ridge Sugar Land Independent Living, but she needed more assistance. There were two buildings, one for independent and one for assisted, and I liked them. They were excellent, but I was afraid that she would keep going back to her old place. They're not pet friendly. They kept restricting where my mom could take her dog. When we were there the first year, she could take her dog anywhere in the building except for the dinner area. With the new owners, she could only take her dog out of her door to the closest outside the door. She was not allowed to take her in the hallways. The food was excellent, but they would run out of special desserts or special meats. They had a lot of activities and it's a gorgeous building. They had a hair salon, a beautiful library, a pool, a gym, and about everything just for independent living that a senior would want. The staff was excellent.

I visited this facility

I visited both independent and assisted living at Landon Ridge - Sugar Land. It was nice. The facilities and the rooms were nice. They have tall ceilings and crown molding, and they have in-unit washers and dryers, and nice kitchens with granite countertops. I didn't like the dark wood, because I found it claustrophobic. The food was OK, but it was just a little bland.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I chose here because of the culture, the friendliness, and the great attitude of the people, which is the main attraction. It's also convenient because it's near hospitals and shopping centers. They also have a good activity program.

I visited and really liked it. It's very nice. I liked the floor plan and the openness of the place. I also liked their physical fitness area and their pools because they are inside and have a Jacuzzi. They have activities, like arts and crafts and sometimes have painters who do water coloring visit, and I like that aspect. I also like that they have Bible studies and church activities.
