I am a friend or relative of a resident
The staff was generally cordial and nice when I would visit, but the quality of amenities and accommodation felt quite lacking and run down throughout the facility. There permeated a constant aroma of bleach, urine, and a few other scents throughout the entire building which was exhausting to endure even for visitors, and while my grandparents and the other residents I might briefly speak to were not the types to complain, I can only imagine the scent would become engulfing after a few days, let alone months and even years. They did offer a nice transition service for both my grandparents that had to move from retirement apartments to assisted living and eventually to hospice care before they died, and for the most part, this transition was fairly easy just requiring a bit of family effort to move belongings and furniture to a new room as necessary.Food was reportedly quite bland and banal, though I never ate any of it personally, and activities available to the residents were moderate and sparse (though this is likely due to funding and small-town-itis more than anything with the facility itself).
