We are choosing Copeland Oaks for my dad. We liked it because it wasn't like a nursing home. It was very clean and they had the spacious rooms that we were looking for. They had a lot to offer out there. It's like a campus with many acres of land. They had a pond and stuff, and you could ride around on your scooter. Overall, it was just a nice place. The 1-bedroom apartment had a dorm-like kitchen that had a dorm-size refrigerator and a microwave. They give you one price, and that covers everything including 2 meals a day. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. She answered all of our questions.

We went to Copeland Oaks. We visited the grounds and I like that there were different levels of assisted living. There was independent living and assisted living, but there was also a step-in between independent and assisted. I thought that was wonderful for people who weren't quite ready to go to assisted living or even skilled care. There were different steps that people could take in between instead of going from completely independent living (which they do have on the grounds) and jumping to assisted and being put into a skilled care facility. They have all of that. You could graduate slowly instead of taking such a drastic step all at one time. We were very impressed with the place. It was nice and clean but unfortunately, it's a two-hour drive away from my husband and me, which was a deterring factor for putting my brother-in-law there, because we like to visit him and we like something a lot closer. We were just very impressed with the whole program that they have there.

Copeland Oaks is a very large place, so you have to be able to get around the facility and the grounds. It is a little pricey, but it offers a whole lot. The facility is very clean and very individualized. They have a lot of activities. They have a pool, an exercise room, art rooms, woodworking rooms, a library, and a chapel. They have so many different things.

Copeland Oaks Oaks is gorgeous, but it's just a little farther than I wanted to go. It's too big. I've been there to visit people, and I've gotten lost every time. It's a nice facility. They showed me their activities and all the things they do, but the room was very small. My sister would have gotten claustrophobic there. When they opened after COVID, we had to sit outside, and there's like a Plexiglas shield. They're good, and I have been there a lot. They've got their own restaurant. You don't even eat in the dining room. You can eat in the restaurant if you want to. I had the food, and it was very good. My friend is very happy there.

My cousin is in Copeland Oaks. She started in independent living, and now she's in assisted living. From everything I've seen, it's a wonderful place. They seem to take excellent care of her. Her parents were there before, and that's one reason she went there when she got older too. They seem to take very good care of the people, and she's very happy there. It seems to be very clean and well taken care of. It's in the country, which is nice. They have a lake, hiking paths, and it just seems like it's a small town. It is a very, very comfortable place. We've both had regular dinner there, and we've eaten in the cafeteria. We were always happy with the food, and my cousin seems to be happy with the selection. You can always find something that she enjoys. I thought her room was a little on the small side (at least for my wife that wouldn't have been enough). We need something bigger than what she has. They have a gift shop, and they have a place where people donate things and sell real cheap. They have an arboretum where you can grow plants. They had an art studio she took us to because she likes to paint. She mentioned they have music programs because she's into music. She thought they had excellent exercise features there. They have quite a few things. They would take the people on trips to different places. There's a Christmas place maybe 20, 30 minutes away that they take a group to every year. They take them to other activities in the area. I was very impressed with the place.

I'm looking forward to moving into my villa very soon. The house is the perfect size and location for me and is currently being remodeled and will be move-in ready. The staff has been very helpful and accommodating! I'm excited about this move. No more worries about maintaining a house and yard, which allows me to continue to work and be active elsewhere.
