My friend will be moving into Windsor Estates. We chose them because they would allow her to have a scooter, which was important for her. We talked to a few residents, and they seemed to like it there. It seemed clean and friendly. They have continental breakfast and either lunch or dinner included. I have not tried the food, but the residents said they like it. They have a few activities. They have a gym, a library, and a chapel. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My husband has moved into Windsor Estates of St. Charles. They just kind of laid out the red carpet for us and helped us get in there. They helped us get accustomed to the place. They have everything there, and they just bend over backwards to make you feel at home and like family. They check on my husband multiple times a day when he's in this room. They ask him if there's anything he needs, or anything he doesn't like. From the administrator to the nurses and the therapy workers, they are the best place I've ever seen in my life. All the residents seem happy. They have Easter egg hunts for them, and they had the Easter Bunny. They have a beauty shop there or a place to get your haircut, they just have everything. They have outside gardens. It is just an amazing place. Whatever you need, the coordinators, the administrators, everybody, will work with you to see that you get it. You're their number one priority, like they don't have nobody else there, just you. It's nice and clean, it just has everything. This one is absolutely awesome. They have bingo, trivia, music night, crafts, coloring, and puzzles. You name it, they do it there. They send out a calendar every month, with daily classes and stuff on it if you want to attend. The family can attend too, and the family can go eat with them. You get served just like they do. To be totally honest with you, they were the cheapest place I found. A lot of cases, it's eight, nine, or ten thousand dollars a month; this place is nowhere near that. It's awesome for what it costs you.

My mom will be in the assisted living of Windsor Estates of St. Charles-Retirement Community. We chose it because of the location and price. It was nice, and the people that work there acted like they cared about their jobs. The rooms are a little dated but clean, and the nursing staff is equipped. Since I was just looking at the memory care portion of the facility as well as skilled nursing care, I didn't see any activities. I was more concerned about having adequate staff to take care of her.

I toured Windsor Estates of St. Charles for my husband. Everything about it seemed OK, except I have a question about their food. I didn't really try the food. The menu did not look encouraging. I think that they are OK, but not what I'm looking for. I would like better options for the food. The one who accompanied me was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The place is very neat and the apartments (or the living space) is newly renovated. It's within two miles, so it is close to our house. It's in a beautiful, wooded area. It's right in the center of town, and it's unusually nice. You're not looking at another building or something like that.

I toured the Assisted living area that has been remodeled. I was pleasantly surprised. The color choice is lovely and bright and the apartments are quite large. I am not looking at placing my mom soon but we have decided when it is time we will be moving her here. Also, the girl that showed me around was nice and answered all of my questions.

The Windsor Estates of St. Charles is a little bit of an older property than the other place I went to. There were fewer types and sizes of rooms, the staff was friendly, and willing to answer any and all questions. It's a good place, and it all depends on what you're looking for.

I visited Windsor Estates of St. Charles. It was spread out, but the assisted living was melded into a new level, so I got to tour the new level. The rooms were great. The studio that I went to see was great. I didn't know for sure when they're going to open the other wing. The staff I met was kind, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I didn't tour the whole place. I just toured the section they opened. The grounds were nice, and it seemed like a quiet neighborhood. If I have to choose right now, I'd go to Windsor Estates of St. Charles.

They are so informative, they offer all levels of care which is wonderful. Hard working staff around the clock. Beautiful campus right next to a park. Affordable pricing and military discounts. Lots of things to do with a group or alone.

Windsor Estates of St. Charles is in a nice, quiet neighborhood, and it's a fairly large place. It's much older than a lot of places around here, but to me it's much more affordable, and offers what I wanted more than the other places did. The main thing was that I could get a car port relatively cheap, $20 a month, which is cheap. And in the lowest level, I would call the basement, everybody who is in the independent living has about a 6x8 storage unit where you could put your stuff, and there's no charge for that. Other places with storage units would charge you $40 a month, and it was much smaller than this. They're not allowing outside people in yet, but I had been inside several times. My mom lived in the same place for 17 years, it's still run about the same as it was then. The surroundings are nice and pleasing, they're doing flowerbed work and all that. It just felt like home. It wasn't fancy, I don't need crystal chandeliers in the lobby, they don't do me any good, and they're which you wind up paying for.

My tour at Windsor Estates of St. Charles was just okay. The staff showed me the apartment, showed me the memory care part, and explained everything that I asked for. She was not overly giving me information unless I asked for it. I have to pry around. If I asked a question, she would tell me but there was not a lot of her volunteering information. I have read that they have activities for the residents and they showed me the calendar. I was also shown their activity area and common areas. But the place itself reminded me more of a hospital area, especially because the nursing home was more institutional. It was not homey nor cozy. Their assisted living was really good, their rooms were bigger than any of the other other places which I really admired about them. Their assisted living rooms and apartments were very good, roomy, clean, and had the most square footage than other places.

We toured Windsor Estates of St. Charles. When you went in it had an unclean, urine smell. The people weren't really friendl. We were really shocked. I wouldn't recommend that place. The rooms smelled of dirty carpet, and there was a leak. It seemed like a very depressing place, like an old hospital that you would want to get out of as soon as you get in. It was really sad because from the outside it was a pretty big campus. It looks like they had apartments too. There were seniors living in it, and if someone took over they could really make it a very nice place.

I saw Windsor Estates of St. Charles. Overall, the grounds where it's located, and I liked that the best. It was not in the major city, more out in the suburbs. The rooms were clean, the security level was good, and I was satisfied with that. The assisted living and independent living halls were connected, and I like that as well. The rooms were big enough for individuals, the dining facility was basically set up like a restaurant, and the outside courtyard was really nice. They could be driven to different locations, and they have entertainment coming in.

I feel that I am very familiar with the Windsor Estates of St Charles’ family/community. I have visited an many occasions. The facility definitely compares well to other retirement communities in the area, especially in price. I have met many of the staff; who are welcoming and involved. The food there doesn’t seem institutional, but well planned and aimed at its target. The dining area is very nice with lots of room and a nice piano staged out front. I have joined the community during its monthly “block party”, which was its Halloween party this Month. They had a haunted house, petting zoo, horse back riding, trick or treating, and lots of food. I’ve heard in the past they’ve even brought in helicopters during their “block parties”. Their activities program seems to be top marks. They even have happy hour. They take trip to the zoo, wineries, and casino occasionally. The apartment Ive been in was a two bed room and considerably spacious for two retired folks. It would have been nice if they would have had two bathrooms, but some apartments might I guess. The head guy there is very focused on presenting a positive experience and quality of life, as he says. He’s involved, well spoken, and well dressed. They have had previous heads that weren’t as professional. He didn’t hesitate to come meet me when I asked about him.

Windsor Estates of St. Charles looked more like a hospital. It didn't feel like a community. I didn't like it. The director who showed me around seemed a little socially awkward, a little slow, and kind of weird. The rooms looked like hospital rooms. That gave me a feeling that it was a little bit more cold and clinical rather than a friendly, warm community. The activities were great, and the residents seemed fine. It's a decent place if you're very religious because a lot of the activities seem to focus around religion, but my mom's not religious. It was one of the lowest prices I've seen, but there's only a curtain in between where you're sharing a space with someone. It was low end.

When looking for an assisted living for our Mother, my siblings and I were stressed to the max. When we came to Windsor, they made the transition smooth as possible for my Mother and were a huge help to us. She feels safe, has made wonderful friends, enjoys bingo, going on outings, and many of the other activities offered at Windsor. She is also comforted that if she ever needs therapy, she can receive care at the facility she calls home and return to her apartment when she's done. We are grateful for all that Windsor offers and how they have cared for our Mother.

We went with Windsor Estates of St. Charles, and it was good. The outside looked a little shabby, but the interior was nice, and it was next to a nice park. The dining area was fine. It's very reasonably priced.
