One night a staff member attempted to enter my apartment without calling or knocking. I was terrified. Luckily I had a door security bar. I later found out they were looking for "the man that lives there" but no man lived in my apartment. They did not even bother to check their records to see who lived in which apartments.
I complained to the manager, who took a week to respond to my concerns and then made light of the incident. Needless to say I moved out! The lack of respect and concern for residents is appalling.

I went there everyday for a couple of weeks and I sat with her when she ate and ate meals with her; the food was excellent. She was there from the middle of November to the middle of January. It was a very nice place and probably the best in the area. The only problem with Eagle Crest was they did not take Medicare, which I consider very important. This is why I do not give them a five. If my mother-in-law would have continued to live there and she ran out of assets, then she would need her own Medicare, and they did not take Medicare. Otherwise, the place was excellent, and because they do have independent, assisted, and memory care, they have all three of the things my mother-in-law would have needed, but we couldn't afford to keep her there.

My parents moved into Eagle Crest. I would say it is a very homey environment. They have a 500-square-foot apartment, but just the non-institution atmosphere, it is really homey. My parents seem happy with just getting out and enjoying meals with other people, and that was one of the big things. What precipitated their move there was just not having meals at their previous apartment. So far, we have been happy with the staff. They have activities. They have a chapel service. They have a child facility right next door, so they do some combined activities with the preschool-age children. Two to three times a week, they will have an afternoon ice cream social get-together. There is exercise class; my parents haven't done that yet, but that is offered as well. They have a lot of options. The dining area kind of resembles a restaurant. It is very nice. You can sit at table anywhere from 2 to 6. My parents can sit with different people. Overall, they have been really happy with the quality of the food. They get two meals a day. They have decided to do breakfast and dinner, but they can switch it up if they want to, so it has worked out really well. The neighborhood is very nice. The hospital would probably be 5 to 10 miles, but there is a grocery store just down the street and a shopping mall maybe a mile away. There is also a restaurant almost right next door, actually.

My dad moved into Eagle Crest. He's only been there a short time, but we're happy with what we've seen so far. I live three hours away, but I was there quite a bit when he first moved in. I stayed in the city, and I was there for three to four days, and since then, I probably have been up once a week.
They're really friendly, and they have the kind of care that my dad needs, and he likes his room. The food is good. The only thing we can't get him to do is go out with the van, and now that the weather is better, we can maybe work on that one. He's staying close to home, but that's him, that's not them. It's very clean. It doesn't smell bad. It's a real nice place. They had some good options as far as how much care he wanted and how much care he needed. They are really good at helping us as a family make those decisions, about what was available and what he needed, and then making those two work for care. It wasn't like one size fits all. They were very good about communicating with us.
