Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living was nice. Everything is included in one price. The food's very nice. The staff was also very nice. They gave me a proper tour and I enjoyed it. They had one bedroom, two bedrooms, and studios. They had quite a number of activities and of course, they all had gyms. They take some trips if you want to go to close facilities like grocery stores.

We went to tour Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living and it was just a good experience. I thought it was really very pretty. There are old trees and the setting was very pretty. They had nice grounds. The residents had developed gardens in their front yards, which I thought looked nice. It felt very welcoming. We saw lots of interaction among people in the halls, people in the dining room, people doing all sorts of things, and sitting outside talking. It just felt like it promoted community living well. Their concept is you have an apartment there and as you age, you have care in your apartment. You don't have to move to another part of the facility as you need a higher level of care. We saw their library, the dining room, and the movie theater. The residents seemed happy and animated. It was appealing from my point of view. There's nobody to meet you at the front desk. There's no front desk. And so, I had to go look for people to talk to because there was nobody. They don't have a concierge or a central welcoming station.

Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living is close to my dad's sister and friends. It is a first-floor apartment and a newer place. It is close to the cafeteria, and you will be taken care of there. They have bingo. The price is in my dad's range.

A loved one will be moving into Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living. The staff was very courteous, very friendly, and professional. They greeted us on time when we arrived, and the walk-through of the facility was very nice. Everything was clean, and it was a newer place, which we really liked. We liked the size of the place and that it was next to a community and not just a building set far away from the community. They had the opportunity to have kitchens or kitchenettes, and in this particular case, we chose the kitchenette because they included food services there, and we really liked that. It was an easy walk from the bathroom to the bedroom, and she was older and had a harder time walking. In some of the locations we saw, you had to walk into the living room and around the kitchen to get to the bedroom or bathroom, and we did not like that for her particular situation. This one had a balcony, and we were looking for something like that too. We thought that the price was very reasonable and comparable to the pricing of the other units. It also had a very good elevator service that went right to the unit, so the location of the unit was the primary reason for that part of the choice as well. The dining area was very pretty. It had an open, spacious layout -- probably more so now because of COVID -- so there was a lot of room that was still available. You are allowed to have the food delivered to your room, or you could go and be seated in the dining area. The newness of the place is what caught us. We are paying a bit of a premium for that, but it gave us that, and so for us it was paying a little bit extra to make sure all the features and fixtures were really nice, updated, and upgraded. The big part also was some of the other locations had higher, tougher carpeting, which was not good for a senior who has a little bit of mobility trouble, such as is the case with us; she could not lift her feet as much. So, there would be these wooden planks and then this higher carpeting, and this location does not have that. There are big windows with lots of sunlight. Joel was the individual who was helping us; he helps to get people signed on. The contract process was very easy, he was very helpful, and the turnaround on the contract was quick, which we needed as well. So as far as administrative things go, there was a lot of follow up, there were a lot of return calls, and things just moved along very quickly for us, which is what we wanted. We have not tried a meal yet, but they did show us the menu and talked to us about how they change over the menu so that it is not always the same thing. They try to keep it as seasonal as possible. It was very beautiful and nice. They have mostly walk-in showers, which we really liked, and in her case that was something necessary. She is moving in for independent living with the ability to go to their assisted living, which is another thing we liked about this particular location.

We went to Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living and it did seem like a nice place. It seemed like a very nice community with nice common areas. It seemed to be modern, the rooms appeared very nice, they have studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and the people who showed us around were friendly. They seemed to have a common cafeteria, kitchen area, and a separate kitchen area if you want to have guests, and it seemed like a nice area. They have transportation if you need to get to the doctor.

My parents are residents of Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living. It's a very nice place, but it's not an assisted living community. You can shop for assisted living services through their affiliate in-home-care company, which is what I have been using. Our experience with them has been excellent, it's been a really well-managed community, the food is excellent and the people is super. Once a week they have an outing. They take the residents on their own shuttle bus out on different field trips, they take them out to local malls and to and fro doctors' appointments. They have a lot of activities in terms of crafts and they have an activities coordinator that sets up cooking classes, movies, crafts and all kinds of things for the residents. They also have a game room, library, computer room, a gym, and just about everything you could want. I have worked very closely with the staff and they have been very accommodating with everything that we've needed. They have a gourmet cook that does a super job, and there's a lot of variety. The staff has been excellent too, and the activities are a lot and well-planned. It's not really cheap to live there, and in the course of the time my parents have been there, they have raised the prices a good bit. The facilities are excellent, they keep the building clean and it's well-decorated inside. In fact when you walk in, it doesn't even look like a senior community, it looks like a fancy hotel.
