My family was in the position of needing to relocate my father from Colorado to Prescott to be closer to us. We came across Granite Gate, which was completely unexpected, and simply amazing! From facilities, to staff, to residents, Granite Gate is unlike any Community I have seen. It is described as a 5 Star Community; weighed and measured against my experiences, it truly is! As cliché as it sounds, it needs to be seen to be believed. A beautiful property and community. My sincerest thank you to the Granite Gate “family” for making the transition from the Colorado Assisted living facility seamless and effortless. It has been nothing but smiles, a helping hand and a warm welcome.

My family member was on the floor for 3 hrs waitting for someone to come and help them. They are always so short staffed and not trained correctly. I am looking to move my loved one elsewhere especially with what they charge us.

My father has moved into Granite Gate Senior Living. I like that there's a caring staff. I like that the place is clean and the rooms are very nice. The residents seem friendly. The physical therapy and the dining room are utilized. If there is a need for physical therapy that is available, and the fact that he is able to have meals prepared, so that's pretty much it as far as needing any assistance doing anything. He can't drive, so he can take advantage of the shuttle. I have tried their food, but only once or twice, and what I ate was good. They offer quite a few things in terms of activities, too.

My tour of Granite Gate Senior Living was great. The staff showed us everything. I kind of had mixed feelings at that place. It's probably better for people that don't have ambulatory issues. There were a lot of stairs and they had built ramps, so people could go around the stairs. But that made it a little bit confusing for someone finding their way around. The elevators were small, and there was a constant kind of congestion at all the elevators for people to get around. When you first come in, you see the entrance where a lot of money had been put into making a beautiful reception area modernized; however, when I went to see the rooms, it felt like they were outdated and dark. They had lots on their plan. We saw a lounge where they can bring in live performers for music. They have a happy hour down in the lobby. I noticed that they had an unused pool and an unused tennis court. Those had been left not being used at all, which I thought was kind of odd. There was a man playing a card game, and they had a library where people were reading. The people were very helpful, I just didn't like the actual building. The staff was great. I would remodel the rooms and make them brighter. For an assisted living facility, the bathroom was at the opposite end of where someone sleeps. If you are mobility impaired, I felt that would be an issue. Someone may be getting up at night trying to get to the bathroom, and the design of the rooms wasn't very good.

My mom was a resident of Granite Gate Senior Living. I could say that it is a beautiful community and it's laid out very well, but I am not impressed with the quality of care that my mother is getting there. They've had complications in giving my mother her medicines. They often either forget or don't have the medications needed. My mother is pretty smart, she knows what she should be getting, and she's had to tell them, "That's the wrong medicine," so I think they've given her the wrong medicines or tried to. They've had a change of nurses there and I don't know if it is because of that event or not. She does not get checked on as frequently as she should be. During this COVID situation they had to deliver her meals instead of letting her eat in the dining room, and they're frequently late with bringing her her meals. However, one thing I will give them high marks on is the person that drives them to their medical appointments. They are outstanding. They always get her to her appointments on time. She's got many appointments and they never complain about taking her to her appointments. I would give them a high mark as far as that goes. Her room is beautiful, it's large, and it totally meets her needs. However, it's in one of those older buildings, and the cable and internet has problems. Because of the design of the building, they can't run new cables and such, and so she's had spotty telephone, internet, and cable service there, but other than that her room is outstanding. She's got a beautiful balcony and a beautiful view. Her room is large. She's got kitchen counter space and a refrigerator. The room itself is beautiful and nice, it is just older.

My first cousin and her husband moved to Granite Gate in late 2015. Since we live in NE it's so important that we have complete confidence with their comfort and care. We are so impressed with the total package Granite Gate offers, including the beautiful location in the Granite Dells. When necessary, the staff contacts us on a very timely basis. We are thankful for the great communication between the nursing staff and our relatives' nurse practitioner who visits them right in their apartment. A huge thanks to Sharon, Sales Director, who welcomed us to Granite Gate and facilitated the seamless move-in to their beautiful, roomy apartment. Every staff member always greets us with a smile, from nursing to the van drivers. We are so thankful we found Granite Gate!
