I visited this facility

We chose The Park Danforth for my parents. The rooms were very big, updated, and modernized. The new section of the facility was nice. We like the location in Portland. The facilities for the meals and the options for the meals and stuff were really good as well. They've got a gym which looks pretty good. They've got a nice meeting room. There are a lot of community activities. They seek resident feedback very actively in community meetings in order to make changes and improvements.

I'm very interested in The Park Danforth. I liked their location and I liked their price. The staff who assisted me with the tour was accommodating, courteous, and responded to my questions quickly. Their facilities met my desires and my needs. They had a gym, a courtyard, a library, a meeting room, and a theater.

I found The Park Danforth to be a fabulous facility. The director and the assistant were both fantastic. The rooms were very nice. The staff seemed to be very amenable to helping, like making sure that the paint was updated, and I appreciated that. If we wanted a particular cabinet, they were willing to talk about that and they also let us take measurements.

I visited this facility

When we visited The Park Danforth, we toured the apartments. Their staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Their dining facilities and both the studios and the one-bedroom were nicely sized. The amount of care they get there is fantastic. They have a little button to check in every morning, and the facilities were really clean. You could tell that things were just well taken care of there. It was fantastic. Everyone there was just really responsive and very friendly. Everything was just so clean. No matter where we walked, the people said hello even though they didn't know who we were. It was just great, it was nice. We also toured the kitchen, the dining room, the menu, and everything else. We walked through while they were just finishing preparing lunch, and they smelled delicious. I would have sat down and eaten. There was no food tasting, but it looked really good. We do have friends who are there, and they said their parents love it there. It was extremely clean, and very well kept. The elevator was nice and clean, and the doors were washed in it. They have a little workout facility for the residents. They have a little movie theater where they show movies several times a night. They have a little cafe. So, if you didn't want the kitchen food, you could go down to the cafe and order different things. They provide transportation to doctor's appointments and to supermarkets and things like that. There wasn't too much that they didn't provide, which was nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My uncle is in The Park Danforth. Everything is immaculate. When you first go in, there's a community room and a front desk. They have a little post office area. They have a beautiful dining room. They have what they call the Main Street. It has a little cafe where you can order lunch and breakfast. They have a little beauty shop and a little store that's run by the residents.

I visited this facility

I went to The Park Danforth. I wish that it had worked out. I.had a hard time with the smell there. I think maybe they clean their carpets a lot or something, or maybe they just clean their carpeting, but I did not even consider having my friend go there because I'm less sensitive than she is. It bothered me. But the man who took me through was lovely, and the facility was great. They even have, besides the dining room, there's an area where you can go pick up food. Some with meal plans, some flexible, you could do 30 meals a month or you could buy more. The bistro is the place where you could just go and pick up food, that was where you could go get homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches like a Deli & more. They had gluten-free options, and he said they have some assistance available, they can't touch medications, but they can remind people. Most of the apartments had carpeting, and he said nobody there would remind you that it's mealtime, you're completely on your own. They had a nice garden area, and were within walking distance to a park and a cemetery where a lot of people go.

We toured The Park Danforth for my client. We didn't pick the place because the food didn't seem to be as good of a value, and she has to pay for her parking. I didn't think we met an awful lot of the employees there. It was a guided tour, and you only got to see what they wanted you to see. The person conducting the tour was fine and friendly, as you would expect her to be. They were friendly, cordial, and they tried to answer all the questions we had. They were well prepped for what they were doing. They were right in the middle of improvement and adding on, but what we saw was clean, lovely, and newly painted. It wasn't a good location for my client, that's why we didn't choose it. There was no place for her to walk, enjoy flowers, or do the things that she liked to do. It's not far away from the hospital; it is probably a couple of miles.

We went to The Park Danforth. It has a local board that oversees it, and it has a good history. I thought it's an exceptional facility. The rooms were adequate, and they would've met our needs. We were provided a light lunch at their bistro. The staff we met, our escort, was very effective and courteous. I think it's well kept, and a good place to live. I think they said they had visits from barbers.

The Park Danforth was an older building, but very clean and in excellent condition. They're in the process of building a new one right next to it. I met a lot of the staff and they showed us all around. The place is very well known, and I can't wait to get there. However, they got a long waiting list. I have eaten a meal there and the food was excellent. The activities that they had were quite similar to the other ones I visited. It's located right in the middle of Portland. They have their own bus that takes people out to various activities that are in and around Portland and there were activities that come in and they do things there. This place is for people who don't have quite enough money.
