The community at The Preserve at Palm-Aire was interesting. It was very vibrant. There was a lot of energy, and the gentleman who took me on the tour was exceptional. I mean, he was very, very knowledgeable. The rooms were nicely maintained. The gentleman was very understanding about what my mother-in-law's needs would be. They had a nice big, spacious dining room, and the menu was very diverse. I saw food on display, which is what they do, and it looked very good.

I was a resident of The Preserve at Palm-Aire. I liked the fact that their buildings were not too high. The highest was four levels. They had three different buildings, which was good. One building was independent living. One building was assisted living. The third building was half and half: assisted living in the bottom and independent at the top. The buildings were connected to the pathways, which was very convenient. The food was pretty bad. The service to get into the dining area was also extremely bad and very time consuming. They were not well organized, so it took forever to get to your meal. The cleanliness of the ground, the walkways, and everything, left a lot to be desired. They just did not maintain it well enough. The place where you gathered the little bags and stuff was not changed out often enough. I just was very disappointed with the up keep of the place on the grounds itself. The good thing is that they have a lot of nature around it. They have a pond that you could walk around. It wasn't easily accessible because they didn't have enough path, so you had to walk on the grass. The activities were pretty good.

My husband and I chose The Preserve at Palm-Aire. They have great grounds and when you walk in, there's no one sleeping. The staff was good. Everybody was accommodating. The rooms were not large. They're perfect for both of us. The dining room was good. We had lunch only and it was good. They have many activities. It's a whole pageful. They have bingo, aerobics, and machines. It's better than all the others we looked at. It was very clean.

We went to The Preserve at Palm-Aire. The guy who waited on us was excellent. Ernesto was the best person you want to show the place. He was so down to earth and friendly. They couldn't even show us a single unit. The only one that was available at the time was a double unit, and they only had the first floor. One of the things my mother was interested in was getting the second floor, and she didn't want the first floor. But they were still in the process of renovation. They took the time because they have classes there. They have line dancing or art classes or things. They invited my mother to any class that she wanted to go to, and the staff would set it up. So they were going out of their way. We saw the menu, but my mother didn't get to try the food or anything. It's in a neighborhood that she's familiar with, so she didn't have to learn the roads or anything because basically right now she is living in Palm-Aire with my brother. She just likes the area. I only dealt with the senior care counselor, so I didn't get involved with anybody else there. But Ernesto was the man to go to. It was like car salespeople waiting on you. It just felt like a comfortable relaxing place to be. I didn't feel tension; I didn't feel pressured. Even Ernesto, he's just a counselor there, but for the residents who are living there now, he knew the names like, "Hi Susan," and "Hi Edward," so he took the time to know their guests. They do senior living and assisted living but because of the way their plan is set up, if my mother needed assisted living, she would have to move in that place.

The Preserve at Palm-Aire looked beautiful, cheerful, fun, and even luxurious. It was very nice. The menu looked good and they had so much to do. They have a calendar with the things every day that people do and they have a beautiful outdoor area. The staff took a lot of time with us. They were very nice. They went over everything, disclosed prices very easily, and gave lots of brochures. They were wonderful.

My husband is at The Preserve at Palm-Aire. In the beginning, it was the best place for him because of the price. They had a pool, a little gym, and things he could use because he wasn't so bad at that time. The price was good when he was in assisted living, but he's now in memory care. It was good at the beginning, then he started to lose his memory very fast. During Covid, it was a little bit hard to visit him. I think the Covid has affected many people because they don't allow family to visit. They said to me in the contract, they're going to clean every week, but they didn't do it. He likes the food, but sometimes he complains. During Covid (around September), my husband asked me for his wedding ring, and I said I don't have it. So, I went and they let me enter the room and looked for his ring, and this ring disappeared from his room. I complained, but they did nothing. I didn't call the police because I didn't want to cause a problem with them. Since that time, I got a little concerned with them because that's not supposed to happen. He has a bad memory, and they may be believed he's gonna miss this thing and he missed it. Right now, I don't like what they do with my husband in memory care. That's why I'm gonna take him out. The building is nice and I liked it, but sometimes, when I go walking around there, the residents walk the dog and there's poop around. When I was walking to his room, I saw poop around the floor and that's what they need to work on. In the beginning, the food was delicious, but everything changed when Covid started. I was there last month and the food was good from what I saw. Value for money was good in the beginning, but now it's a lot of money (I believe it's because it's memory care).
