The people at Peace Village are very caring. So far, they take great care of my husband and we're impressed with them. He has a studio apartment. We furnished it with all of his necessary needs. There's a bed, a dresser, and a TV. They play bingo and card games. They also take them on outings every once in a while, do exercises, and watch movies.

I visited this facility

I visited Peace Village. I like the location. It was a very good location. The grounds are very pretty. The buildings are very, very nice. They have a few restaurants, and the restaurants are nice. The hallways are well-kept. They have a couple of washing machines on each floor, and that's very convenient. Most of them that I've seen have balconies, which are very nice, and there's plenty of closet space, too. They have a lot of activities there that you can participate in. Every day, they go somewhere else, and they even go to where you can play the slots. I thought it was very outstanding. The price is right in comparison to the other facilities. Another thing is, if you have a car, they have inside parking, which is great. It's an additional cost, but it's minimal. If I will be making a change, I probably would go to the Peace Village. The person who took me around was very informative, very thoughtful, and very polite. She's a nice, personable person. She went above and beyond her duties because she gave us a few interesting points that we didn't think of. About the food, the people that we talked to were all very happy with the meals. They kept saying to us, 'Are you moving in?' We kept saying, 'We're thinking about it,' and they said, 'You'll be very, very happy'. So it seems like the residents are very happy. They have all kinds of facilities. They have different buildings and a person that is unable to walk would have to have a scooter or something, and the halls are wide enough for that. I saw two people on walkers. There are different types of restaurants and they're throughout the different buildings. The conveniences are good if you're able to manage for yourself. It wouldn't be a place that you couldn't manage. You would have to have a caretaker or go to assisted living.

I visited this facility

From what I saw, Peace Village looked good. It was certainly one we would have considered. The staff showed me around the facility, let us poke around, and all that. They showed us where the dining was, and they showed us an exemplary room. I know they had activities, and they talked to me about what you could do, what sort of staff you may have available, the type of care, and all that. The staff was nice.

Provider Response

Peace Village was gorgeous, it was very nice. They've got different kinds of apartments. The only thing I did not like is that it doesn't have a washer and dryer in the apartment. You can have one installed, they'll do it if you want it at $1,000. They have different things going on, they have concerts and all kinds of stuff like that. The staff that assisted me was perky. It's got a $49,000 buy, and you have to come up with that right away. I was looking at the smallest unit, the one-bedroom with living room, kitchen, and bathroom is $1,990 a month. The whole place looks nice. It's one of the cheapest ones out there. After the initial $49,000, the rent is not that high, but it was out of my reach. It seems like the people there were very nice and it's all elevators, so you don't have to worry about climbing stairs.

Provider Response

First and foremost, thank you for your kind words about our community, and our team, we truly appreciate it. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you, dig deeper on the financial piece and see what we can do together to make Peace Village your new home. Please reach out to me directly.

My mom just moved into Peace Village maybe four or five months ago. She's in assisted living and she's 92. She's well taken care of. It's nice. It has a nice layout. She kind of has her own room, but she shares a room with somebody. They have exercise classes, a church, and a beauty shop where you can get your nails done. They have a very good cafeteria. And their staff is very, very nice. You can have your food delivered to the apartment if you need to. You can go to the beauty shop and get your nails and your hair done every week if you want. My mom is having a great time. She plays cards and bingo, and she is doing something every day. She's very involved.

Provider Response

Hi Laura, we are so happy to have your mother as a resident at Peace Village, and thank you so much for sharing feedback about her positive experience at our community. It’s wonderful people like her who make this a special place to live.

The Peace Village was very nice and very clean. The personnel there seemed very nice and it had a nice setup for older people. We looked at their independent living, and everybody was friendly. It was very clean and they seemed very caring. The staff who showed us around was very, very helpful and she described everything very well. I was there once before, during lunch, and the food was very good. I would have liked to see a larger apartment but theirs was also very nice. They had a beautiful courtyard, a pond with a fountain in the middle, and it's a beautifully-landscaped place.

Provider Response

The independent side is okay but the assisted living is awful. Though a few staff members are wonderful many are awful, rude, and confrontational. The administration claims to listen to concerns but never actually resolve issues. If you press the matter they twist things back onto the family, refuse to return calls, and at it's worst make things very adversarial. Not what one would expect for $9000 a month. You get nowhere near the "assistance " they advertise. Do not put your parent's care into the hands of this facility.

Provider Response

We're very disappointed to learn of your family's experience at our community. Exceptional service to all residents and guests is a basic expectation for any of our staff, and we're discouraged you felt your concerns weren't being given appropriate consideration. We thank you and your siblings for taking the time to meet with our team, and sharing your feedback. Our goal is open communication and transparency, please continue to reach out directly to our team, with the contact information provided at the meeting. Your Mom is a long time Peace Village resident and we value our continued relationship.

Peace Village was great, but we didn't like the apartments so much. They did not have a dishwasher in the kitchen, and they did not have a washer and dryer in the apartment. You had to go down the hall for laundry. It's not a Catholic organization, although they have a chapel and a church in the vicinity. It was very well laid out, very large, and they had different levels of living. We liked it, and there were lots of activities. The person who showed us around was very nice. Lunch was very good and we were very happy with it. I liked the underground parking. Everything was very beautiful.

Peace Village was nice, felt friendly, and looked really friendly. The food looked good and they were very accommodating. It's a big place. The staff was very pleasant and answered all my questions. There were seniors playing games and cards. In the memory unit, they playe games that improve their memory to help keep them as sharp as possible for as long possible. There were some individuals playing solitaire. They were active. It was very clean, well-maintained both inside and out, and it had attractive grounds.

Peace Village was nice, but they only had single apartments. They didn't have too much of an option when it came to saving a little money. The price wound up being a little bit higher because they were only single apartments, but they were nice. It wasn't quite as homey as the place we wound up wat. It was a little bit less on the decor. The staff was very nice. They showed me their big room that they have services in and other meetings. I also saw a room where you can sit and meet with your friends and family.

Provider Response

Thank you for your interest in our community; we appreciate the time you've taken to share your experience about your visit. Peace Village is a not for profit organization, and we are here to service the community; our Mission and Vision along with our not for profit status allows for our residents to stay with us even if their funds run low. We have a robust fundraising program that lets us provide charitable assistance to our residents when needed. We are in the process of doing some remodeling and look forward to the completion; our apartments will remain private as this is what our residents tell us they prefer. Thank you for your kind words about our staff and the community, if we can be of additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

I am a resident of Peace Village and have been intimately acquainted with Peace Village since it opening in 1989 and the assisted living facility since its addition in 1998 and need to take issue with a previous review that stated that Peace Village is a For Profit organization which is incorrect. PV is and always has been a Not for Profit Independent Living and Assisted Living facility. The beautiful setting of Peace Village is unparalleled when compared with other similar Independent Living and Assisted Living facilities including those that are much more expensive.

Peace Village is spread out, and my mom could not go from the assisted living area to the common area where they have all the activities; she would just be stock in assisted living, and the rooms were very small.

Provider Response

Thank you for visiting our community and thank you for your valuable feedback. You’re right, Peace Village is quite a large campus; we sit on 22 acres and have over 200 Independent Living Apartments and 49 Assisted Living Apartments. Our apartments in Assisted Living are studio style; some are smaller while others are as large as 500 square feet. As well, there are many areas within our Assisted Living Community where activities take place. When time allows, please reach out to us or visit again and we will be happy to share more specific information with you.

Peace Village is a very nice place; my mother moved in maybe two weeks ago. It seems well kept, and the people are nice. She is enjoying herself. She has a 1-bedroom apartment that has a small kitchen in it. She is on the second floor with balcony. They go to movies, short trips, and take them to shopping. There’s a beauty salon on site and a bank.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for trusting Peace Village to be your mother’s new home! We love our residents and their families and you can count on us to do our best to continue to earn your trust.

My friend loves the environment, the setting, and the activities of Peace Village. They had a beautiful pond outside. We didn’t have the chance to walk around. The young lady did not have time to take us to the rooms and just gave us floor plans. It had a nice view out of the windows, and they had balconies.

Peace Village is a beautiful facility and remodeled. They have doctors, a bank, and it’s close to grocery stores. They have nice apartments, and they have inside garage parking for their residents. They have a buy-in fee, so it’s kind of pricey. That’s where I would go, if I can afford it

Peace Village was a beautiful place. I really liked the campus. Their rooms were of excellent quality, and they had wonderful amenities. I also liked their business model. I found the staff hospitable and thought they provided good services. They also served excellent cuisine in their dining room. I met some of the residents, and they were all nice people. I liked the environment in general.

Peace Village is a buy-in, and I’m not interested in a buy-in. It was very nice but way too expensive, high-end, and classy for me; I don’t feel that I would fit in. The dining room was very classy, elegant, and nice. The staff was very nice, friendly, and accommodating. They had a very nice lunch area there, and the sandwich they served was excellent.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother has been here for over 4 years and the place is perfect for her. As she needs more help due to failing health Peace Village staff have bent over backwards to help us and work with us. The only down note is that sometimes they move at a slow pace in implementing changes of service. The comments from PVL seem unfounded. Of course we expect to be charged more when the amount of service increases. That's only fair. And getting money back to the estate is clearly spelled out in the contract - when the unit sells, the estate will get its share. Taking a year or more to sell a unit isn't unusual. The care, companionship and activities offered here are excellent. This seems to be a place that cares about its residents, not just trying to make money off them.

I would not recommend this place. My mother stayed here and they told her she could bring her small dog. Then, after a few months they made her get rid of it. After she passed away, the estate was supposed to get a refund from what she paid for her apartment; now one year later this still has not happened. Also, when she needed a 24 hour care giver, they began to charge her more for the monthly fee.

Peace Village is a for profit facility, the people that run the organization seem to all be related or connected in some sort of way. Peace village is not steadfast in dealing with issues and are really not what they seem to be. The facility is clean and all but its just a pretty package. It is very also very expensive and the people in charge have ego problems

Peace Village is a great assisted living facility. It is very clean and the staff is very attentive to the needs of the residents. The residents seem very happy and interact with one another very frequently. They are always provided with activities, such as crafts, cooking, or watching music performances by volunteers. The staff members are all very friendly and have close, personal bonds with the residents. There are also many volunteers who visit the assisted living facility on a weekly basis, and do their best to entertain the residents. There are many activity rooms in the facility, such as a room with board games and books, a TV room, a room with a piano and a radio, and another large lounge with an attached kitchen. Peace Village has beautiful and newly renovated buildings, as well as a gorgeous garden and patio area. There is also a small lake behind it, with a walking path surrounding it.

Overall Peace Village has been a great place. Just visiting I was surprised by the nice and beautiful scenery of the facility. There is nice walkways for walking or jogging and breathtaking trees next to a beautiful pond. The staff are really friendly and truly care about taking care of seniors and making sure that everything is right for them. Since moving in, my grandpa has made many friends with the residents who live there, and they are able to take recreational classes and learn things such as painting. The facility also has access to local transportation, onsite medical care, and pharmacy delivery. The food they serve to residents is also amazing, and is great in variety and nutritious too! My grandpa was really hesitant about moving into Peace Village, but they've really made the whole transition painless and easy on him. He is still able to live independently and privately, but does not have to worry about maintenance and house-keeping. I'm really glad that we chose Peace Village for my grandpa.
