I liked the staff at The Villages at Marion. I liked the design of the apartments. The thing I liked least was the bathrooms. The staff we met were friendly and outgoing. They seemed to care about the residents, pay attention to the residents, and make them feel at home.

My parents have moved into The Villages at Marion. The overall experience is very good. The units are very nice. The common areas are nice, too. They're open and very clean. They have lots of activities. There's always something going on every day. There's lots of variety. The people are friendly and helpful. The other residents there are very nice and seem very happy to be there.

My father is at The Villages at Marion. We just liked the location and we liked the people that we talked to there. It was a good fit for him. He says he doesn't particularly care for the meals they serve, but he's a little picky. Other than that, everything's good. The staff is very friendly and outgoing. They have games, puzzles, outings, and stuff like that. They've got plenty to do. It's clean and the atmosphere is nice. They have a senior bus, so they take them out to the grocery store and they can take them to doctor appointments. It's right along the main drag and it borders a city park, so there are activities next door that they can watch.

The Villages at Marion's location and facility have been updated, and are new and very clean. The staff is way above average, from housekeeping to the kitchen. Everybody here is really super, and you can't believe how good the housekeeping is. They have a lot of activities and it's really convenient that they make trips every day to different grocery stores, Walmart, dollar stores, or doctors appointments. They do a really good job with that. The food is very good.

My mom is already in the Villages at Marion. First of all, our situation is very different because mom was the one who decided that she was ready for independent living, so that was a real gift for the family. Mom got to keep her old cat, which was required, and she is still close enough to her church to go, which was huge for her. She also gets to keep her car although she doesn’t know if she will continue using it or so, but they allowed her to park it there. And she is delighted with the food. I don’t know the staff, but she likes them. It is an older facility, it is not really fancy, but it is clean and nice. Mom is fine with all that, and she likes it. Her apartment is only about 220 sq.ft. less than what she had in her condo, so she was able to get something spacious enough to not feel claustrophobic as well. They are just really very realistic, down-to-earth people. They don’t try to sell you something they don’t really have. They have storage for $10 a month there, and they have activities, transportation, and all those bells and whistles. And we get to use the big activity room for family Christmas or Thanksgiving, which is pretty cool because we can still have Thanksgiving at mom’s, but in a big nice room that accommodates 30 to 35 people. People don’t immediately have to get rid of all of their things that they can’t fit in; they have the option of storage right there on-site.
