I visited this facility

I liked the people that work at the Manor on the Hill, whether it was the administrator who we met with or the people who worked in the cafeteria. Everyone there was really nice. The food was good. The building itself was very nice and clean. They remodel each time one becomes available. It was inviting and very comfortable there. They had plenty of seating and meeting places where they could do activities and stuff. They had plenty of space. They had nice activities, and everything was scheduled. They even have an outdoor space, which is nice to have access to for my parents. They can have a car. They had a hair salon and a podiatrist. The local Catholic church is involved, so they have the rosary once a week.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has moved into Manor on the Hill. I can't say enough good things about the staff. They are very nurturing, supportive, and helpful. They pay a lot of individual attention to clients. They are socially engaged with everyone from the social worker there, who is excellent, to the kitchen staff. Even the maintenance people are courteous and kind, and I am extremely happy with the staff there. It's very clean, open, bright, airy, and has nice common spaces. My mother's room is great. It has a great appearance and one of the things I like, is they have wide hallways. I used to go there and visit. I bring my mother to visit her cousin there, and they replaced all the carpeting in the hallways with flooring, which gives it a clean look, and it's probably easier to keep clean and trip-free and all that. It's nice. My mother has only been there a couple of weeks, but with the lead up and the help we've gotten and everything, I was happy. There are a lot of activities. The facility to me is only as good as it gets, and they've just done an exceptional job with the people that they have hired and who work there. It's more of like a family feel there. The meal experience has been good. One of my mother's main issues is eating, but the kitchen staff is extremely accommodating as far as tailoring some stuff for her. She needs a lot of soft foods, and she can't eat large amounts at one time. We toured several before we picked this one. It's not the most expensive one or anything like that, but it's nice like the big common area is open.

I visited this facility

I toured Manor on the Hill for my mother-in-law, and the community was nice. The rooms were smaller; we were looking for something larger. The place was very, very clean. The staff was very welcoming. The tour was thorough, and they answered all my questions. So, they did a good job. I was there after lunch and the dining area looked nice. I saw some of the cooks, and they seemed to do a good job, although I didn't actually eat anything or see any food. There was someone at the hair salon, but I didn't see any activities that were happening while I was there.

I visited this facility

I visited Manor on the Hill and it seemed like a nice place, a place that would be suitable for my sister. They looked like they had good caretakers. I did not meet any of them, but the tour guide said they were fine people. It's a re-purposed Holiday Inn and it's not as beautiful as some places, but it's fine. The room would serve my sister's needs. It's a little small, but remember we are not talking about a $10,000 a month suite here. The one person that I met with was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Manor on the Hill was great. It was clean and well managed. Everyone was very helpful. They had studios and joint rooms, but they mostly had just single rooms in the memory ward. Some of the activities were exercising, yoga, crafts, and painting. The dining hall was very nice and they had a separate one for the memory care unit, but they could also open it up on certain days to the other community. They had a game room, a dining area that the family could rent out for a party, an outdoor patio, and walking clubs.

My mother moved into Manor on the Hill. The building is a little older, but the staff is caring. She's in a comfortable, single room. Everyone seemed happy when we walked through and checked out the place. They were holding a baking class when my mother moved in, have daily exercise class, and have a patch outside for gardening. They do trips to restaurants, people come in for hair and nails, and have bingo and dance classes.

I chose Manor on the Hill for my Dad, after he was diagnosed with cancer and couldn't live alone anymore. My brother and I toured at least 6 places and felt that the Manor offered the friendliest feel. He actually wound up reuniting with a couple of old work friends he hadn't seen in at least 35 years. He was a wisecracker and the staff somehow always managed to laugh at his bad jokes. Unfortunately my Dad died after being there only 6 months, but it wasn't totally unexpected. The staff at the Manor were great - warm, understanding and professional - and very respectful of my family's need for privacy.

I recently visited Manor on The Hill and was so happy with my tour. There logo states "The difference is caring" and I felt that on my tour andmeeting the staff and residents everyone looked so happy. They had a great activity going on which the residents seemed to love. We stayed for lunch and it was wonderful. My Mom kept telling she is not ready for assisted living and after the tour she said "when can I move in".

I visited this facility

I recently visited Manor on the Hill because I am looking for a place for my mother. I was overwhelming surprised from the moment I walked in the door at how home like it felt. Michelle the receptionist was so welcoming I felt as though I was an immediate friend. I was provided a tour and the staff seemed very happy everyone was saying hello and had a smile on their face. The rooms are spacious and they had a good amount of activities going on threw out the day. I left knowing that my mother would be in good hands at the Manor.

My visit to Manor on the Hill was wonderful. It has a very homey and nice comfortable feel, good programs, and an adult day care program which my grandmother was attending. It was an incredibly smooth transition for her to move into the memory care unit. The facility is very nice. They have a spa and a barbershop, and a doctor, podiatrist, and nurse practitioner come to visit regularly. The staff all know each other. It was much closer to our house.

I’m not quite as happy with Manor on the Hill. The residents did not seem quite as happy. My sister said the place had a very definite odor to it. They are near a major highway, and it was very noisy outside; you could hear the traffic, and I did not care for that. The rooms we looked at appeared to be fairly clean. We were shown a shared room apartment which I’m not in favour of. I think seniors deserve their own space in their own room. They have a fair amount of activities.

I thought the facility was very nice. I met a few of the staff members while I was visiting and they were all very helpful. My aunt seemed to really enjoy the company and help she was receiving. I would send another relative there if I had to. I think the nursing staff was very educated and knew what they were talking about.
