Brookdale Memorial City is a beautiful location and the people have been wonderful. The staff is excellent. My friend's room is good, nice, and clean. They take very good care of the property. I had a lettuce salad when I was there, and everything that I had was very fresh and very tasty. It was just a small amount, but it was very good. They have a lot of amenities. They have a pool, a workout room, a salon, a little grocery store, and other activities. They also have transportation to doctor's appointments and other places. I think they have a doctor that visits and a pharmacy, so they really have everything that you need right there. They take care of their residents. I've met some of them and they've all been lovely people. They have their pets and they're very happy there. I think I met one the other day that's been there for 14 years.

My dad moved into Brookdale Memorial City. It is a nice place for him. It's the second time he's been in here, so he's really familiar with it. He got the apartment right next to the one he lived in last time. We chose it again because they have a really good staff there. They keep me informed of what's going on in the daily activities they have. Also, if the time comes when my dad needs a little more help, he can still get it here. He's got a one-bedroom apartment, which is really nice. It has a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, and a bedroom. They have different floor plans. You could get a studio or a two-bedroom apartment. I know they have four different areas in between the park. One had a gazebo-type thing with tables and chairs around it, and another had a putting green. They also have a hair salon and a barber shop. They have various activities, like outings. They have a courtesy van that goes to the local stores like three or four times a week. They email me a copy of the menu for the week, and the meals are very nice.

I have moved into Brookdale Memorial City. What I liked the best is the price, the entrance is free, and the rent is cheap. The staff is okay, they could be better. The cleaning lady was supposed to clean the bathroom, the kitchen, the living room, and the bedroom. My apartment was messy because I had just moved in, and she only mopped the bathroom, she didn't clean the toilet. I have been there three weeks now, and they didn't do a very clean job. I had to clean the toilet myself. They have a lot of programs here, but I'm just too busy moving. I just had time for Tai Chi, but they have a lot of activities. I just don't have time to do them all right now. They provide food three times a day, except on the weekends when they provide food two times a day. The food can be better. The lunch is great, but the dinner is like fast food and it's not very nutritious. I like the lunches and the breakfast.

I was able to visit Brookdale Memorial City, it was more independent living. I liked everything about it. They had a pool, they had a library, they had exercises and activities, and a nice place. Their rooms were a nice size and the closets were great. I met several residents who were very happy, they talked to me, and encouraged me. I met the staff who were all very friendly. When I was there they had just finished an exercise class. They had a small store on the premises, which was nice. They were accommodating and willing to repaint, and I can have my choice of carpet or hardwood. They were just really friendly and helpful, and the location is good. There were grocery stores and drug stores and shopping nearby. My only concern is they did not offer assisted living, so I would hire outside help for that.

My mother-in-law will be moving into Brookdale Memorial City. They offer a kind of ala carte service. If you need extra assistance at some point, that will be available to her. So for her current state of things, this was appropriate because she'll have her social interaction activity program. The meals are included. If she wants to cook something, she can. My mother-in-law liked the layout of it. She had a view of trees, which she liked. The salesperson was very helpful, very nice, answered all the questions, and showed us the facility. We had lunch to make sure that the food was according to what my mother-in-law was expecting. The food was good. They have a menu where you can select some items. The dining rooms looked friendly, clean, nice, and not overly fancy, but not too basic. They were generous in the size of their closets. They keep everything well maintained and clean.

Brookdale Memorial City has more deals than its sister community. They had the same type of apartment models, but they included a little bit better pricing and incentives to go there. They invited us back to try the food, and they had three restaurants there that were called Ambassadors. They had lunch with us and it was very, very good. I was very impressed with the food and the ladies that were there had everything good to say about that location. In terms of the layout, it was made up of six different courtyards and each of the buildings was three stories. So it was not a high rise, but it wasn't a single floor either. The dining room was on the third floor, too, so it's a short walk to their food facility. It's just that there's not a lot of grass and shrubberies on the outside. They were very accommodating when I have questions. They had a one-time fee of $2500 which was a little less than its sister community. I felt that the facility was older, and it looked like they needed to do some renovations on some of the sites that I saw. I like the rooms that I saw. I looked at a 1-bedroom with a bath and a 1-bedroom with a study and a bath.

The tour at Brookdale Memorial City was wonderful. It was very informative and the facilities were excellent. The person that toured me educated me on a lot of different things. She's very knowledgeable so it was wonderful. She took her time and she didn't rush me. She informed me about a lot of things that were available to my father who is a veteran that I didn't know about. It exceeded my expectations. The rooms and the layout, everything was very, very clean. Even the breezeway, the walkways, and the elevators. There were no smells or anything. Even the grocery store was clean. It looked like it was just brand-new and nobody was living there but there were occupants there. We looked at the independent living, the one with the apartments.

The location of Brookdale Memorial City is nice and it has a good reputation. The sales staff is nice to work with. They were very quick and answered all our questions, so that's good. My parents have a one-bedroom apartment and they seem to like it. It looks good and it's clean. My dad had eaten one meal so far, and he said it was good, but we've heard from others there too that says the same thing. They also go out and have different outings from time to time whether to go shopping or other things. Then they have bingo and movie nights, but one of the things that we really liked about it is they have a pharmacy right there and a convenience store on the premises. They have lots of access to elevators and washer-dryer setups that are pretty close to where my dad is. So, I think the price is reasonable for what they get.

We went to Brookdale Memorial City about two months ago. I personally liked it, but my mother didn't like it. I think she's not ready yet. She said there's too many old people there. I liked the apartment itself, and everything seemed very clean. The people I visited seemed very happy. I saw the dining area, and it looked very nice; a little dark though, but it seemed very nice. It's clean, but I wasn't there during lunch time. The laundry room seemed really nice. The pool seemed nice. Everything seemed like it was kept up. Tiffany and the people in the office seemed very personable, very professional, and very helpful, so I like that. They answered all my questions. As far as the outside, the lawns and everything seemed kept up.

I liked Brookdale Memorial City. I spoke with Tiffany. I liked everything from the dining hall to the little candy store that they have there. They might look a little worn out on the outside, but on the inside, they keep it very clean, especially the rooms. The rooms are better than what I was living in when I was renting out an apartment. It was really, really nice. The dining room was spacious, and I saw a big line, which meant the food was good.

It seems clean and well kept. It's close to medical facilities. They have courtyards, I believe they have a gym, and the courtyards are nice.

My father-in-law has moved into Brookdale Memorial City. They're very nice. Everything was done very efficiently. He loves the facility. The staff members are very friendly. He said that his room is very homey and comfortable. I'm unclear what the activities are because they're just now opening things back up, just a tad, but he said the food is really good. He hasn't been out to do anything yet, but from what he's read and told us about, he's really excited about the activities.

We were concerned at Brookdale Memorial City about all the construction that's going to be taking place. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice, and everybody was very nice and informative. She called us later to ask what we have decided. It was a nice place, but in some ways it seems like a jail. You walk right out into a concrete walkway wherever you were. They didn't have a little patio or anything, and that wasn't my favorite thing. There seemed to be 500 apartments there and that's a lot, I would enjoy something more without that number of people. The setup of the apartments were adequate and the community was very clean. Their amenities looked fine to us, the lunchroom also looked very nice, definitely clean and adequate. Their exercise room, and laundry amenities were also fine. Although, I would rather have my washer and dryer in the apartment instead. The staff who helped us was very good and enthusiastic, she hasn't been there very long but she seems to know everything about the place.

Brookdale Memorial City is just senior living and not assisted living. It is a very large complex that has several different garden settings in the middle and all the apartments are around that. There's three levels, and they have one dining room. We ate there and it was OK. I can't really say its super duper. We saw the apartments, they had a 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom, and they were nice. It seemed to be a well-kept community and their staff was great. Joanne, the woman we saw there was very helpful. They can also provide in-home care if you happen to need it, even if you're in independent living.

Our experience at Brookdale Memorial City has been good. The place is nice, and my dad and stepmom have nothing bad to say about the place. They like going to the cafeteria and eating with other people. They have parties, and there's a shuttle to take them to the grocery store, to the mall, or to the movies. They also have clubs. There are lots of places to walk around and talk to people. The staff is very knowledgeable, they attend to the needs of their residents, and they seem to enjoy what they do. They have laundromats on every floor of the building, or you can pay extra to have somebody come pick up your laundry and do it for you.

My dad liked Brookdale Memorial he best, but they required a buy-in. It was a nice place in a nice neighborhood. They had a little workout room, did outside and inside activities, and had personal services, like if wanted to hire someone to wash your clothes. It was convenient to the mall and the hospital.

Mom is staying in Brookdale Memorial City. It is fine. They maintain it pretty well. The dining area is nice. The staff seems to be adequate. She is in a one-bedroom apartment. It is in good shape. They have an exercise room, but she never uses it. She has some physical therapy there ,and it is really good. The food seems all right.

Brookdale Memorial City's grounds are very pretty and well kept. The foliage was very pretty and the rooms were very nice and clean. The way it's laid out feels like a neighborhood within the apartment community. One of the biggest selling points for us was the fact that they had flexible times for dining. They don’t have set times for meals, which is something my parents needed. The sales manager who assisted us, Stephanie, was wonderful, and she was a big reason why my parents felt comfortable in making the decision to move there. Everyone we met was very warm and welcoming. We observed Bingo and were very pleased with the varied activities that were available there.

Primarily, the walkways were outside; there were no interior hallways. We really didn’t care for that, I guess, because we’re accustomed to having occasional bad weather. Brookdale Memorial City's rooms were quite acceptable. The meal arrangement was not good because there was a limited menu. They seemed to have good activity schedules. I felt like I'd probably do most of my physical exercise and activities outside at a different facility, though. The meal we had was okay. The menu overall was not particularly exciting.

Brookdale was very sterile. It was like being in a hospital. The staff was very nice. I went there for an introductory luncheon, and the food was good; but it was bland. It didn’t have very much flavor because of the dietary restrictions of some of the people. The key course did not have very much seasoning to it. The rooms were clean, but very small. They had lots of things. They have different-sized apartments depending on how much money you wanted to spend. It’s just wasn’t for me.

We looked at Brookdale Memorial City for my mother-in-law. It was very nice. It looked like they had recently refurbished the café area, and you got like $300 a month on a card where you can just go and eat what food you want for that amount. Since it was independent living and it was too big for her, we would have to move my mother-in-law somewhere else eventually. That's why we went ahead with the one that we chose. The staff was very nice. They showed us around. The apartments were very nice. Everything was nice, but it would have been too big a place for my mother-in-law because there were so many apartments, and she would just get lost there. The dining area was very nice. It was updated. It was like a café-bistro style. If you're looking for independent, and you like shopping, Brookdale Memorial City would be great because it is right across the street from Memorial City Mall, which is a nice mall.

Brookdale Memorial City (Formerly The Terrace at Memorial City) would be my first choice. It opened outdoors, it had a beautiful garden and a beautiful swimming pool, and they had a person who had a small convenience store where if you needed something like crackers, you can go there, and it was on the property. We did eat there, and it was good. It wasn't fabulous but I wasn't expecting it to be spectacular. I just thought it tasted fine. About the rooms, I thought that the value for what you pay and what you get is exceptional. The rooms were nice, the floor plan was well laid out, and the kitchen was big enough to meet her needs. The bedroom and the closet was big enough as well. My mom liked the idea that they play bingo and cards. She also liked the idea that occasionally they will take road trips to casinos.

I am very, very pleased with the Brookdale Plaza Memorial City. The staff is very accommodating. My brother was given a remodeled apartment and it is gorgeous. I stayed in one of their guest rooms for a few days and his room was so much nicer because it has been upgraded. The only drawback is that they give you a $300 a month to use for breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday. He would rather have control over whether or not to use this credit because he is still able to cook. They have a café and the café food is wonderful. I wasn't truly impressed with the breakfast, but the food is good. I wish they had more dietary control over it. That is my only criticism of that place. My diet is gluten-free and I noticed that there were people who were diabetic who were eating things they shouldn't, so that is a drawback. That is the only drawback. The place is gorgeous; the people are wonderful; and the food is good, but in terms of diet, I wish there was a little more control. It is very well-managed; it is very clean; and they are more than accommodating -- everything else is wonderful. It is just that one thing, so if you have a real dietary problem, something else has to be done.

The Terrace at Memorial City is right next to a big mall. There’s a hospital not far away and a lot of professional buildings. I had a lot of complex medical issue; I was looking for a place with access to those things. And there was the Memorial City Hospital. Their rent includes three meals and all your paid utilities. They had laundry rooms all over the place. They also had pools and spas. It was nice. There were very nice apartments all in a quadrangle -- it was beautifully landscaped. All of the apartments were updated, which makes it nice. This particular one had a much higher mean age; it was late 80s and early 90s. They also have scheduled trips around the area, but actually they had quite a few activities for their residents. It was a little higher cost. I thought they were good. Again, I was looking access at the Medical Center and this place didn’t provide this either.

The apartments were very nice, they completely renovated one for my mom and it’s on the second floor. The elevators are good and the security is good. The food is average to above average but the service is very good. The staff’s work ethics are very good especially around the dining facilities. My mother found one that she would like to move to. It's called The Terrace. It's behind Memorial City Mall. The reasons she chose this one is because of the location and the setup of the property. She also chose this because of the fact that they have individual apartments, an elevator and a separate dining area. Her would-be apartment was of very quality property, same like a hotel except cozier. It was clean and you could add your own personal touches as far as furniture and stuff. She would be able to keep her refrigerator and stove. She likes everything about it. It was very nice. The staff there was very kind, very courteous and very helpful. The facility itself was clean and homey. The cafeteria area was very clean. The residents that we encountered and met were all very happy. They had good things to say about it. I would definitely recommend them.

I stayed at The Terrace at Memorial City for about eight years and I did not want to live anywhere else. There were a lot of caregivers here. It was close to city malls, hospital and they provided a shuttle within five miles wherever we wanted to go. They cleaned my apartment once a week and I had my own furniture. Free lunch and breakfast for five days a week were included in the rent. The food was great and we had choices of fish, meat, chicken, fruits. And you could choose what you wanted to eat everyday. They put a monthly schedule for the activities like exercises, movies, bingo, casino, grocery, music programs, bands, etc. And on Sundays, they took the residents to different churches between 9 am to 10 am. They had activities everyday, all day. It was a fantastic place and I never complained about anything.

The Terrace at Memorial city was great. It was a closed community of apartments. There was a 'security guard' on site 24/7 who walked around the facility. The pendants around the residents necks were pushed whenever they had an emergency so the guard could respond immediately. There were also emergency pull cables in all the bathrooms. The staff was extremely friendly and there was an event coordinater to keep the residents occupied. I visited another Terrace area but it was in a bad part of town and the staff and guard weren't as involved. The cafeteria food at both was acceptable but not that good. They also had shuttles which took residents to the mall/supermarket/drug store etc.

The facility is well set up and the staff seems caring. They have amenities that fit whatever lifestyle the resident is currently able to live and due to this the residents seem to be in high spirits. A nurse currently comes to check on my grandmother every day and they have formed a bond where she is more than just a caretaker, she is a friend. I appreciate that.

My mother has been at The Terrace for seven years and really liked it and didn't wanna move but she needed more care. Mom has friends there and she's 89 so moving at that age is quite a traumatic experience. She has developed a sentimental value to the place and the people there. Well they had another organization in there that was doing similar type work and we tried them and it didn't work out, but in the meantime, since they were bought by Brookdale, with the new people it's working out much better. I very, very much prefer the Brookdale management. It's very clean facility. It's meticulously maintained. They do an excellent job there! I like the staff; they're very good. Mom has one of the smaller bedrooms but it's perfect for what she needs. She's very much comfortable. I've done quite a bit of homework in terms of looking into other options. Of course everybody would say that they want it to be less but that's not really realistic when you consider the cost to provide things. I would recommend it and my mother has actually recommended the place to people and now some people have moved there. About seven years ago when she moved in there, she wasn't very happy or eager about it at that point. But over the years, she's really benefited from a lot of activities and choices of things she can participate in in there. And even if she was just living with me, I couldn't provide her with all of that.
