My mother is a resident of this nursing home and is being treated very badly. I have been trying to get her out of there for over 4 months and the whole place has been dragging their feet. She is always running out of her medicines for days at a time, doctor doesn't address her medical issues, nursing staff is incompetent and understaffed, and the management doesn't care. Please don't put your loved ones in this facility if you care about them

I'm a resident of Mount Royal Towers. It's clean, nice, and neat. The staff is OK. Unfortunately, they turn over once in a while. The dining area is clean and well maintained. The food is very acceptable and well prepared but could be better if the budget was bigger. We have a lot of activities going on. We can keep busy if we want to. I'm teaching people how to play bridge. It's independent living, plus assisted living, and a nursing home. It's a wide-range place. I'm in the independent living plus area. If I need assistance, I could get it. They have also an Alzheimer's unit.

My mother is in Mount Royal Towers on the fourth floor. They don't have any access to go outside unless a family member checks them out and is responsible for them. She does not like it. She's diabetic, but they were only testing her once every three nights. Out of nowhere, her insulin is getting up into the 500s, so now they have her on two to three different pills for diabetes, plus two shots a day. I don't think that they check on the patients' health as much as they should. They're not very watchful. They allow them to go to the store in that facility and don't regulate what they get, so she gets cakes and sweet stuff. The bulletin board, where they have different activities like bingo and others, is nice.

Mount Royal was excellent and gorgeous, but I could not afford it with my budget. The tour was good, though. The services and the staff were great.

Moved my mom in the independent living in Feb. 2017 and moved her out in June 2017. Big, big mistake. 3 different occurrences of bed bugs that were not treated properly. So we replaced her bed, sofa and a chair. They are actually trying to bill us for the time she was at my house, while there were treating the room. $$$ Also, she did not like the food there, and had a very hard time socializing with the people. I have now moved here somewhere that she is very, very happy. Only wish I had taken more time and found a better place the first time.

The room at Mount Royal Towers was small but had a beautiful view. The kitchen area had a dorm refrigerator and a microwave top. It was an impressive tall building, but I was disappointed with their small dining room. On the main floor, there was a bank, a pharmacy, and a beauty salon. The place was clean, but the room's carpet was horrible because someone had just moved out, and they hadn’t cleaned it yet. The food we had during the visit was OK, but we only had two choices for lunch, and they were snack food.
