I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has moved into Bonaventure of Gresham. They have a lot of space. They have a very friendly and very helpful staff. They were able to help us move in quickly. So far, we haven't had any trouble with them. It has been very good for everybody involved. They have been able to get her to eat, which was one of the problems we were having at the previous place. I'm assuming the food must be pretty good. They have a library, common areas, crafts areas, and all sorts of stuff.

We had an in-person tour of Bonaventure of Gresham. The people who are running it are very, very nice and accommodating. The largest unit there is a two-bedroom with two baths. It's about a thousand square feet. We have eaten there several times. The food has been okay and not super high quality, but still pretty good. The manager is wonderful. You get two or three meals. They have activities. It's in a good location. They have two clinics. The independent care there is mixed in with the assisted living in the same building. Gary has done a wonderful job of working with the people there. He knows everybody by name. He is very cordial, nice, and accommodating. The people seem to work well together there. They have a nice area for entertaining people that come in. The dining area is very nice. They have a library and several rooms for activities. They don't have an indoor pool. They have services to the grocery stores and doctor's appointments. They are in the process of doing some trips. It's a good place for independent people.

My cousins moved into Bonaventure of Gresham. The main reason we chose that place was because they have independent, assisted, and memory care. Plus, they have a pretty good variety of activities for them to do and a lot of functions. So they've got a theater, an exercise room with more equipment, an activity room, a gardening room, and a little cafe that's open all the time. If you want a snack, you can just walk in and grab one. They have several outdoor activities like cornhole and other games. The staff is awesome.

I will be moving into Bonaventure of Gresham. I like the fact that it was all in one building, it covered all of the facilities, the Independent, assisted, and the memory care. I got a nice apartment with a patio. They were excellent, the staff is excellent too. They have a lot of activities. They have an exercise room, a movie theater, and a beauty parlor. They have a refrigerator, microwave, and stove. The washer and dryer are in a separate room, but they're available.

Bonaventure of Gresham was at the top of my list, but it's very expensive. It was very clean. They had good food, and it didn't involve a whole lot of walking. They had a wonderful cook. The meal that we had was delicious. I checked the independent living. I wanted to make sure that wherever I moved to, it would have at least two levels of care, independent and assisted (and maybe the memory care because it might be important later on). The staff was very friendly.

I visited this facility

Bonaventure of Gresham was absolutely beautiful and very roomy. They had a cafe, a theater, a large spacious game area, a library, and lots of different activities. The rooms were spacious. They had several different options. We interacted with one staff member. They had anywhere from studios to two-bedroom units, and one of the things that I really liked about their layout was that in all their hallways they had handrails and places to sit in the event that an elderly person is feeling unstable or they're feeling like they need to rest for a minute before they continue. It's almost like staying in a really nice hotel, but it's big. I was a little bit concerned, especially if you're someone who has some memory challenges, like navigating to get to the dining area and those types of things, but they said that normally there's staff always around until somebody starts to get lost. It's a bigger facility, but it felt warm, clean, it was very beautiful, and it seemed quiet. It was just a really nice, beautiful setting. The salesperson that we talked to was very friendly, took us around, and answered any questions we had. The price per month was fairly reasonable. I was actually surprised that it was less than I thought it would be. However, I asked that in the event that my parents ran out of funds, if they took Medicaid, and the staff made the comment that, "Oh no, we don't take Medicaid, and you'll find that most facilities don't," and that was an incorrect statement. That comment alone has made me wonder whether I want my parents to live there just based on the integrity of the information he was sharing. That was a red flag for me because that although there are some, there are many who do take Medicaid, and that information to me is the critical piece.

Do NOT go to Bonnaventure as we found the help to be in "training" vs having those already trained. The turnover is each week a new face and senior management makes sure if someone leaves to make it as difficult as possible.. held our movers up so much it took them 8 hours to do a single apartment move that normally takes 2 hours. We have found better food, better rooms, better everything for much less money. Run away dont walk from Gresham Bonnaventure!

I got to see Bonaventure of Gresham yesterday. Due to Covid, I couldn't see much of anything but they showed me a model apartment. I met with the marketer, and we discussed what they had to offer. It was a pleasant experience. They're professional; they seemed like they're on the ball. They discussed the required amount of money deposit in order to reserve a room. We had a pleasant conversation; I was impressed. It's a brand new place. I couldn't really spend too much time there. They're not allowing visitors to really tour the facilities. They had to take me some place away where it's safe.

Provider Response

Thank you for such kind words, Brian. We sincerely appreciate it. We're so happy that you were able to see a model room and discuss options and such with our marketer. We would love for you to be part of our community, and if you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We enjoyed your visit! Again, thank you!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm in assisted living at Bonaventure of Gresham. The food is horrible. I do not take a bath at night, but they want to give me a bath at night, and that got straightened out. My room is very small, but they keep it well lit. The elevator was down for a week and the ombudsman took care of that real quick. If I hadn't called, it would probably still be down. We have a lot of good activities like painting classes, bingo, and ball tossing. The activities director is wonderful. We have a bazaar every month. A waitress comes around and serves you in the dining area, but you can get your own salad and soup. You don't have to wait to be served. The building is very nice and very new. I have places in my room that have cords that I can pull for urgency if I fall or anything like that.

Bonaventure of Gresham is new, but the first six months were really rough. Even though they changed managers a month and a half ago, not everything has been ironed out yet. I have one meal a day included and that has been a disaster. I think the problem is they have to follow their corporate standards, even the same menu, regardless of the location. I think they have a dining room manager now and they are finally getting their act together. If you get to the dining room at 4:30, you normally get your dinner by 5:00 and can get out of there. Otherwise, you can have your order taken, but it might be 6:00 before you get served. The dishes are not really clean, particularly the coffee cups. I like my apartment and the arrangement, but everything else could be improved. The parking is limited, and they have limited the medical rounds to twice a week. They have an elevator and the dining room is very nicely arranged.

I visited this facility

Bonaventure of Gresham was brand new. There were in the final stages, and they just started moving-in in November. Everything was beautiful because it was brand new. I had seen a few rooms. The one I actually got on hold was on the second floor and had a little balcony which was good because I had a dog. In their package, you would get one meal a day, and you could choose whichever meal. They had full kitchens in there which were very nice. They would pay for your phone, landline, basic cable, and Wi-Fi. The only thing you would pay extra on was if you wanted to upgrade the cable. They would have day trips to the beach, casino, and up the mountain. They would also help in the doctor's appointments. They would take you shopping on certain days. They had a library and a big screen with the projector, and the seats were nice. I had seen the director, a couple of his co-workers, and the activities director.
