We toured Layton Terrace Senior Community and the least I liked was the heating and cooling system. The woman, I think her name was Chris, took us on a tour. She was very generous with information, very attentive, and very thorough. She showed us different options and views. I couldn't think of anything more to ask. They were very, very accommodating. The rooms were good size and what I expected. It was a normal size, big enough for what you would need to have. The layout was good, and the bathroom was set up well. We saw the dining room. They look very nice. We were walking on sort of a bridge over it and we were looking down into the dining room. We couldn't see the food, but the setup looked very inviting. It was a pleasant dining room. They seem like they have a lot of activities going on. There was something regularly listed on the calendar. I think I even got emails inviting me. Even if you weren't a resident, you were invited to some of the events. There seemed to be a regular schedule of an interesting variety of activities. I remember the pool table room because we kind of asked about that; my husband was interested. We saw the therapy area and the laundry area. There were a lot of people visiting in the lobby. It was a very spacious and comfortable lobby. The place is very clean, and well laid out, and the elevators were in the right places.

I went to Layton Terrace Senior Living. The tour was great, but I didn't like the apartments. They were kind of outdated and dreary looking, so that's what turned me off. The staff who toured us were great though. The price was way too high. The rooms looked like somebody took an old kitchen cupboard and put it up. Nothing was updated. I just didn't care for it.

The memory care unit at Layton Terrace Senior Living was small with only 30 residents. The location was ideal. They had apartments there instead of a room. You had your own little apartment there, so we liked that aspect of it. I'm just a little concerned that the entry is on the lower level and memory care is upstairs. And it was a little busy down there because they had senior living, assisted living, and memory care in the same facility. So, it was a little confusing on which is where and where to go. But we've only been there once, so I'm sure we could get used to that aspect of it.

Layton Terrace Senior Living wasn't as friendly. The staff seemed a little disorganized. The person that I met with was 15 minutes late. She wasn't on time. We were waiting. We were the first ones there, so there shouldn't have been a problem. It was OK, nothing special. It was dated. The dining area was beautiful. They updated that. They had a lot of activities.

I toured Layton Terrace Senior Living and I liked that they had a lot of activities and things scheduled for the residents. So we liked the programs they had set up, however, the facility itself was rundown and needed a lot of updating. It was a little dark, and we were looking for a different feel. The staff who gave the tour was very welcoming and informative, but she just seemed a little sick. They had a gym, a salon, and also several activity rooms where they would hold cooking demonstrations, and that was nice.

I like Layton Terrace Senior Living. It's clean here. They're remodeling a lot of stuff and painting stuff now, but other than that, I've got a great view out the window. There's a whole big long piece of green grass, and then there's about five or six evergreen trees and other little trees. It's a great view. So far, the people I've talked to have been nice. They are great.
