I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm at The Peaks at Santa Rita. They have about five different apartment layouts, and they're all good. They have an exercise room, a theater, a library, a pool room, a bar, and a dining room. The apartment is beautiful and big. I have a 1-bedroom, and it's big enough for two people. I'm the only one living here, and it's definitely big enough for one person and two cats. They provide everything. They always have it decorated for whatever holidays are coming up. Right now, it's Easter. The staff are all very polite and enjoyable. You talk to them without feeling like you're talking to a bureaucracy. It's pretty neat. I'd recommend it to anybody. Breakfast is free and is included in the rent. You pay $225 a month for lunch. Their chefs are outstanding. I've never had a bad meal here. It's always good. I just love it. The staff is fabulous. They have many activities. It's only 12 years old, so it's a fairly new facility. Value for money is excellent.

I have friends living at The Peaks at Santa Rita. The facilities are clean and well-kept. The staff is very courteous to everyone. A couple of meals that I've taken there are pretty good. The rooms seemed adequate. They're apartment size or smaller. One of the things I don't like about it is it's multilevel and my walking is kind of restricted, especially stairs. I've seen groups doing Bridge and other table games. There's a quiet area like a reading room.

Provider Response

Richard, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at The Peaks At Santa Rita.

Have researched most independent residential facilities in the Tucson to Tubac area The Peaks ranks the best by far when comparing cost, quality, food and concern. Have been invited numerous times by resident friends for meals and events. Never had an unacceptable meal and the staff has always treated me with respect and concern My only concern is the food being so much to my liking that it would add too much to my girth. Currently on the list for residency

Provider Response

We are so happy we left a great impression for you Ted! We can't wait to have you as part of our community every day!

I visited this facility

We toured The Peaks at Santa Rita. We looked at a casita and a two-bedroom apartment. The people were very friendly. No one there seemed unhappy about being there. The casitas, which they don't have available, are very nice. They actually have a kind of walled-in patio yard in the back. We went to lunch with two other residents, and that was very nice. They had a lot of amenities. They had things going on, a beautiful pool, and lunch was very good. Part of the monthly fee is for a continental breakfast. We didn't go for breakfast. She actually gave me the menu, which was interesting. Some things were permanent, which was very nice. Then there was one extra different thing. If you wanted the other meals, you could pay either a fee for the month or a punch card. I thought was nice because sometimes you're not there. You may be on vacation. You might have decided to go out or cook your own meal, so you didn't have to be paying for meals that you weren't going to have. The other interesting part about this was you can travel to any of the other Hawthorne communities for a week. If there's availability and you wanted to go to (let's say one in Florida or one in Massachusetts), you'd pay for your own airfare. You could go there for a week at no extra charge. They had an exercise room. They had a pool table. They had card tables. They had activities and trips. They had transportation to the doctor and to groceries, etc. They have some trips that they would organize, such as a museum with their vans around Tucson. The lady that took us around was Ginger. They're there 24 hours. They're all very pleasant and very nice.

Thank you for your kind words about The Peaks at Santa Rita, Carole. We look forward to your next visit!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been living in The Peaks at Santa Rita. The manager is fantastic. He's like everyone's father, and the apartments are large, airy, beautiful, and the prices are very low. The staff is very caring, but the food is probably a C plus or a B minus. The dining area is fine. It's a big cafeteria, so you take your plates with you, and this is another thing that I didn't care for. I prefer having waiters. We're always booked up with activities, but most of them are card games, and I do not like card games personally, so I chose not to be active.

Provider Response

Hello Carole, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback, we agree that our managers are amazing! Thank you so much again for your feedback! We hope you have a great day!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I've moved in to The Peaks at Santa Rita. It is very nice and very clean. Everybody is very friendly and the staff is helpful. I'm on the second floor and I feel very secure, so I'm very happy with it. I'm in a regular one-bedroom apartment with a full-sized kitchen, a really nice bathroom, and a living area. We have an exercise room, a chapel, library, billiard room, swimming pool, sauna, a putting green, and a hair and nail salon. It's a little restricted now since the COVID. Like there's a bus that goes to like Walmart or Safeway, but only six people can ride on the bus at one time, that sort of thing. There are other games that they've curtailed, and we can't play cards if there's four to a table, things like that. I had a couple of things that were not right in my apartment, and they came right away to fix them. It's been wonderful. The food is like gourmet, we sit at a dining table, and they bring everything to us on China. It's just spectacular, and the food is very enjoyable. It's included with the price of our room.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My in-laws are residents of The Peaks at Santa Rita. So far, it's been wonderful. They have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and since they both have bowel and bladder issues, that was extremely important to us. They have a kitchen and a full-sized refrigerator. They have lots of activities. They have allowed my mother-in-law to play the piano, which has made her very happy. They serve breakfast, but lunch and dinner costs extra. The manager has been absolutely phenomenal, taking them around, introducing them to people, and introducing them to the activities that they have. He allowed them a $500 coupon to help pay for their move. Everybody was willing to help. They got their first month's rent for $99 and they got their first 30 days of lunch, which is their big meal of the day, for free as well, so they could get to know more people in the dining room, which I thought was a wonderful idea. They were able to start making friends and feeling a little more at home almost immediately. They're very happy there. The staff has been in the papers several times for awards. The director, the assistant director, the activities director, and the main lady at the desk are all very encouraging. It's all very personal. Just that interaction alone has made them more excited about this place because they feel like they're wanted. It's beautiful, it's gorgeous, it's clean, and very well kept. Their laundry is right in their apartment.

I visited this facility

I'm going to move into The Peaks at Santa Rita next week. It has everything I was looking for. There is a sense of community; it feels welcoming. One of the things that I like about it is that it is not located right inside the big city of Tucson; it is in the small town in the outskirts. The grounds are well kept and clean. The place itself looks good. The rooms are bigger than ones I saw elsewhere. You bring your own furniture. They have a swimming pool, a theater for watching movies, a dining room, a beauty salon, a computer room, and a library. The staff seems to be very knowledgeable and very friendly. The food is excellent.

The Peaks at Santa Rita is an excellent place with very good customer relations, very good follow through, and a delight to work with. The place is clean, fresh, and up to date. My relative is in a spacious one-room apartment. They serve two excellent meals a day. We're very happy with this place.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We were not ready for assisted living at this time, so we have moved into an independent living facility here in Arizona. It is the Peaks at Santa Rita. Number one, we decided that we'd stay in the Arizona sunshine. Number two, there was one unit available, and that was it. We either take it or wait in a long queue. This facility offered a casita, which is an individual first floor apartment with parking right at the door. The costs were much more reasonable than many of the other facilities we had checked out, and at this time, they offered everything that we needed, which is mostly somebody else to take care of the home. It is a good sized complex. They have exercises and an exercise room, they do offer daily trips -- twice a week for shopping and other days for transportation to the doctor or whatever -- and they have other special activities like they bring in speakers, they have video bowling tournaments, and any number of things or activities that people can participate in. We are very pleased.

The Peaks’ is fantastic, to be very honest with you. It is where at the present moment he will be the most happiest and for anybody who is able to live independently, it is a fantastic place to live. The staff is very caring, it’s a great place, and they have activities like the typical trivia and Wii.

The Peaks is a great place; everyone is very friendly and helpful. They have a pool, a hot tub, a game room where they play cards, and they have a movie room. They serve breakfast and lunch every day, and they have a shuttle that will take you to places. Mom’s apartment is very spacious; it has a full kitchen, and it has its own washer and dryer. It’s very nice. Mom is very happy, she met old friends, she loves it, and she feels safe there. I recommend it highly.
