I visited this facility
Brookdale was an excellent facility. The rooms were well-maintained, they tend to paint after somebody moves out, the kitchens were a bit small, but otherwise I was impressed. The manager is very nice.

I am a friend or relative of resident
My mother has been a resident of Cambridge Place for over two years. Although still independent, at 102 her needs for emotional and physical support are steadily increasing. The caring atmosphere and professional staff have enabled her to have a quality of life that exceeds family expectations and provide confidence that this is such a good place for her at this stage of life. I cannot say enough about the staff and administration. We trust them implicitly to do what is best and keep the family well informed. We are lucky to have them in Great Falls.

The employees at this facility are wonderful. I spoke with the director and asked him how he found great employees. He specifically looks for and evaluates 'heart' or concern for others. He has certainly succeeded in that goal. Fabulous.
The activities are varied and frequently offsite. Family members are invited along. Mom and I recently went on a trip to Philipsburg Montana where they mine for sapphires. What fun!
The facility is well-maintained both inside and out. The maintenance staff goes out of his way (one guy) to do everything he can for the residents.
My mom and I wish we had known about the assigned seating at meals. When we first visited the facility, we were told that there was no assigned seating and residents could sit wherever they wanted. Unfortunately, that is not the reality. The same tablemates at every meal leads to very quiet mealtimes as the stories have all been told! While someone could ask to be moved, that is perceived as a slap in the face to the previous tablemates and is very rarely done. It is a missed opportunity to not mix it up every meal.
With the one exception of meal seating, I would recommend this facility.

I visited this facility
Emeritus at Cambridge Place is a very professionally managed independent retirement home. Every time I visit, whether it is to attend their monthly breakfasts that benefit local non-profits, or to conduct genealogy workshops, I am greeted with smiles and enthusiasm. Their staff is very friendly, and always helpful. I am also very much impressed by the friendly and respectful manner they treat their residents. They are considered family. The grounds are also kept well-groomed and watered, and the interior is always very clean and orderly when I visit. I certainly recommend anyone interested in independent retirement living to consider Emeritus at Cambridge Place.
