I visited this facility

I liked everything about The Peaks, A Senior Living Community. It was very nice, well-maintained, and very clean. The people were very friendly and very knowledgeable. Their dining area was also nice. They showed me the pool where they take people in wheelchairs, and then give them therapy. They have a salon and quite a few activities there, and I was very impressed. The outdoor area was very nice. It looked like it's in the woods, surrounded by trees. The swimming pool had all the windows around it where you see the trees and stuff. Very, very impressive. Then they had a fireplace, too.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I went to The Peaks, A Senior Living Community for rehab. I was there for a month. I like the people, I mean, the staff was all very friendly and very professional, and then the other people who were there with me, the other rehab patients were also very friendly. Having been there for a month, it was just a very pleasant community. Wait times sometimes for medical assistance might take a while, sometimes the food wasn't always spectacular, but it was usually fairly good. There were times they did give you several choices to choose from, but every once in a while, I wasn't very happy with any of the choices, so it was difficult for me to pick a meal. The cleanliness was excellent. They did a really good job keeping it clean. For the senior living community, they had a calendar, a monthly calendar of those sorts of activities, and even as rehab patients, we were allowed to participate in any of those if we wished to. So they would have musical performances, film, book clubs, and sometimes they have field trips and things of that nature. It was free Wi-Fi. So you always had access to Wi-Fi. Each room had a television. They were all very friendly and they seemed to be very professional, but again, I'm not sure whether it was because of understaffing or whether that's a systemic problem. Sometimes, you just had to wait a while to have your needs met.

I was in The Peaks for rehabilitation for a few weeks while recovering from a fall and hospital stay. The care was exceptional! All of my needs were met in a timely and professional manner. The food and service were outstanding. I was impressed with the warmth and caring of staff-always making me feel my needs were important. It has my highest of recommendations!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother was a resident of the Peaks for a year in the bungalows and moved to the main facility shortly before passing. We were very pleased with the amount of care and compassion she received throughout her stay. The beauty of the facility/grounds was appreciated by our entire family. My husband and I have already decided that it is where we want to spend our final years! Besides this positive experience, they have been instrumental in finding available COVID vaccines for our entire family. We feel like they are there for us even before we move in! What a positive and caring senior living community for Flagstaff!!!

My grandfather lived in The Peaks before. It was really good, everybody was attentive, they worked with his needs, and they had translators because he didn't speak English. It's actually really clean, it's a really good environment for him, and it was enjoyable. They had a calendar of activities, and they keep the residents pretty busy.

I like the little 2-car garage bungalow that I have in The Peaks, which is independent living. We have activities with the people in the lodge, and activities with the people in the bungalows. We have outings and lots of interesting things. We have a resident council where we listen to the residents and report their concerns to the management. It's a fantastic place and is the baseline for everything else as far as I'm concerned. The staff is totally dedicated to our comfort and trained to learn our first names. It's just wonderful, they're like family. They also provide housekeeping twice a month and 30 meals a month.

My husband and I both loved the Yellowstone area, but I don’t like that they have 10 months of winter. We were very happy with the day that we spent at the Peaks and the residents that were already there. They were very friendly and outgoing. We had lunch there, and it was wonderful. We are going into bungalow, and we only paid one month rent at that time -- which we really liked -- and it was much less expensive than in California. Overall, we just enjoyed all of it.

The Peaks was beautiful, and it’s very expensive. The rooms were very small, but they were very nice. The residents seemed fine.

My dad is in The Peaks. There seems to be plenty of staff, and they get to see a doctor every day. He has dementia, so there's not much socializing for him.

I had an excellent impression of The Peaks. The food was excellent; the rooms were beautiful. They’re bungalows, and in the lodge, they have more intensive care. It’s within 2 minutes of the major hospital in town, but there is also a hospital on site and a beauty salon.

We chose The Peaks because of its location and how beautiful it is. They have concerts and AA meetings which is important. They have games like scrabble. They have speakers and children that come in the facility. They have arts fair as well. They have a beautiful salon and a wheelchair accessible pool. The staff answered our questions perfectly. The rooms are perfect as they can be without being brand new. Nothing looks perfect as brand new, but they put in new carpet, linoleum, and new paint. There is no issue with the smell as well. As a matter of fact, my mother-in-law hurt herself and is now in the post-operative wing. There is no smell there either even though it's more of a hospital care than an assisted living.

My friend was at The Peaks for rehab, and after two weeks they set her up in a studio apartment there. She is in it now, and she is doing very well. She has gone from not being able to walk without assistance to a walker to walking with a cane, and she tends to be able to walk without a cane. But I do not like their rehab because this lady that I knew -- she had a back problem -- needed her bed to be raised, and she was in a bed that automatically would raise. Something went wrong with the mechanism, and they said that as soon as someone else moved out that they would replace her bed with theirs, but no one ever moved out, so she had to lay flat on her back. It is a beautiful facility, and their dining room is great where you go in and sit down, they have a menu to choose from, and their food is very good. I just don't like their rehab. I don't know if they have any nurses, but their help is not trained to put the patient first. They can improve by answering the patient when they turn their lights on and being there for them, but the staff and the nurses all -- with exception of one or two of them -- all seemed to be very friendly.

We are familiar with The Peak. It also has nursing care. It also is a little more expensive. The rooms were a little bit larger than the rooms at the other facility. As far as the staff, the ones I had limited contact at that time had been friendly. Their activities are probably well above average. They have an excellent physical therapy program. Overall, probably the most outstanding thing is the building itself; it was very attractive. In my opinion, the least appealing part of it was that it is too big.

Both my Mother and Father live at The Peaks. They started in The Bungalows which is true independent living and need to move to The Lodge where they receive more care each day. The staff is great. However, what makes The Peaks wonderful for my parents is the friendships they have with other residents.

Very nice and clean facility with caring staff. The food smelled surprisingly good! I was impressed with the varying degrees of nursing staff available to the residents based in their individual needs. If a resident has high needs, there was a nurse available all the time. If the resident was more independent, then the staff would give them the respect and space they requested and deserved. There always seems to be activities going on at The Peaks. Weather its performances, game night, good old bingo, or simply sitting chatting with other residents, there seems to never be a dull moment for residents. Did I mention the grounds of The Peaks are stunningly beautiful? nestled in the Ponderosa Pines and clean breezes of the outskirts of Flagstaff Arizona The Peaks has beautiful views of the San Francisco Peaks and abundant wildflowers during the summer months. This makes a simple walk an adventure.

This assisted living was incredible. I have no negative things to say about my experience. The staff were extremely helpful and the rooms that were at the facility were nothing short of gorgeous, Flat screens, private balconies, and a personal staff. The food from the kitchen was good and my mom enjoyed the hearty roast beef that they served for dinner one night. The gym was very large and housed numerous different machines to help with physical therapy. My mother especially enjoyed knitting and crafting with some fellow friends she met at the facility. The weather is flagstaff is always beautiful and always comforting to someone who has to recover. Overall this is one of the best nursing homes that I have experienced lately and would highly recommend this facility to anyone in this area looking for good care, and comfort for their loved one.

Entered this very pleasing structure. They have separate facilities - one for Independant Living, one for Assisted living (divided into Assisted Living and Memory Care) there is also a Skilled Nursing Care facility. I went to the Assisted Living facility which is called The Lodge. This is a very friendly, clean facility. The residents seemed happy i.e. I noticed alot of the residents together - there was no exclusion of others. One group noticed a resident alone and 2 or them approached the resident and started talking and laughing with her. She was not just invited to join the group but made to feel as if she "belonged" there. They shared stories with each other and details of their lives etc. When the lone resident felt comfortable and accepted by the 2 other residents then they invited her to join the others with them. I felt that this was a very nice way to include someone in a larger group. what I liked most about this facility was as a resident needs increased they were not immeditely moved to another place but could remain in their own apt. where she/he felt comfortable and familiar and their increased needs were met . A resident did not seem to feel a burden nor upset over being "moved". In one instant the resident did not even seem to realize the increase in care needed. It was a very reassuring atmosphere all the way around for a resident there.
