I visited this facility

I liked the staff and the people there at American House Dearborn Heights. I liked the cleanliness of it, I liked the peacefulness of it, the way that they looked out for the residents, and how they have them communicating with each other. They can meet up in the community room and they can interact and not get lonely. They are interactive with the residents. I like how beautiful it is, the comfort of it, the peacefulness of it, the way it's decorated, and the flowers on the outside. It's like a real home to me. The food smelled good because when I went there, they were having dinner, but I didn't get to see it or taste it or anything. The rooms were set up very friendly towards people who could be slightly disabled or elderly. I liked the cleanliness of it. I liked the way it was decorated, the colors that they chose, and they're spacious. There's a lot of room and space for them to put things and decorate, put the furniture if they have furniture and stuff. They were furnished and some were unfurnished. The room that she showed me that was furnished was nice, but it was also spacious if people chose to bring their own furniture. I liked it.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into American House Dearborn Heights. I'm very impressed with them. It's extremely clean, and they pay attention to the residents. My mom is in good hands. The staff is very friendly. They give them quite a bit to eat, and my mother loves cooking. They have various activities for them. The only thing I would say is that I don't think they have anybody as old as my mother there, so they may not have age-appropriate stuff, but my mother will try to do everything anyway. They play games like bingo, and they're doing some kind of Senior Olympics. The food that they serve is excellent, but if the resident is not able to go, then the delivery of that meal is kind of expensive. They have a beauty salon, and they have an outside porch. It has rocking chairs outside, it's very nice.

My mom kind of liked American House Dearborn Heights, but she decided not to take that location. Everything was nice. They spent a lot of time with the seniors. The room needed a few updates, but overall, it was nice. The meals were included, but you had to pay a little extra. They had a library and a chapel. The chapel was only Catholic, though, so we weren't happy about that either. We saw somebody there playing games with the seniors. The dining area was nice. The lady who gave us the tour was very nice.

I liked the amenities at American House Dearborn Heights a lot better, because I would have my own front door and picture window. That's what I loved about it. The person that gave the tour was a nice, very informative, and very pleasant young lady. It was excellent.

American House Dearborn Heights is warm, inviting, very clean, and has a beautiful atmosphere. The staff is really friendly. Everybody we encounter greets you with a smile and I liked how happy the residents were. Everybody we passed by was smiling and laughing. They were greeting us and welcoming us. My grandparents live in a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette. It's open, spacious, and quite large. They can move about easily. It's very clean with all the updated carpets. It's a very lovely and bright space with freshly painted walls. They also rave about how delicious the food is and the options that are available to them. They have memory games for my grandmother such as flashcards and little cues. There's a special tribute wall for veterans where they put my grandfather's picture. It made him feel very proud. My grandparents are very religious and they have a church organization that comes there that they are starting to participate in. There are trivia nights as well. They have a vast amount of arts and crafts and a lot of activities available.

We went to American House Dearborn Heights. The one thing we did like about that one was the hallways were wider. The tour was fine. The lady who took us around was OK. The location was okay. It was weirdly placed up where it was. The rooms didn't quite grab us there. They just weren't appealing or something. It just didn't jump out at us like the one he's in now. The plus was the hallways were wider and the doorways were wider, but that's all I can remember. The staff was okay. They were nice, but I just felt more of warmth at the one that he is in now. They were OK. It wasn't as warm or something as the other facility.

American House Dearborn Heights is under the same management as the other place I went to. It was very clean. The food smelled really good. The people were very pleasant. Some individuals were in the cafeteria eating, and some were sitting out on the patio just enjoying their day.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I moved into the American House Dearborn Heights. It's very comfortable, very nice, and clean. I had a problem, and they came right away and fixed it. I don't like that I don't have a storage closet to store stuff. I liked the location. It's made like a condo. They're nice. I'm very pleased. The staff is very kind. They got the landscaping. Everything is just so nice and clean. They do have a salon. There also are bus tours (where they take the seniors to different places). It's a list of things that they sort of have. They have a lot to offer.

Excellent, caring staff. All through my family's experience we were very happy with the way our father was treated. All additional costs and suggested services were fully explained and tailored to fit his changing needs. I would highly recommend this facility.

The first place we looked at was here, and it's what we chose for my mom. The layout is wonderful, and the apartments are wonderful. The dining room area is lovely and well lit, front and back.

I like the apartments and if distance hadn’t been a factor, I probably would have gone there. Part of it was the fact that the distance away from my family was not good travel time for both of my children. I like the facility but it just wasn’t going to work out for me. I like the location as far as where it was situated on the grounds and the other thing is the meal situation there was not as good.

I liked it the most, but it didn't have a memory care unit. It was clean and really nice, and I liked the people and the way it was set up. The staff were really nice and very knowledgeable. The rooms were nice and a little larger than I expected. I also liked their dining areas with one that was restaurant-style and one that was set up a little differently. They just didn't have a memory care.

I visited for my parents. I thought it was a nice community. It was set up a little bit different than where my parents are at now. They did have meals available. It is a smaller campus, and so it offers better availability for services. The only thing is they did not have availability. Nevertheless, the community was very friendly. They were open to showing you the facility. They were helpful in answering any questions that you ask. It had a very good atmosphere. At the time that I went, they did have a person that was doing activities. The residents were very cheerful. Also the place was very clean. I like the atmosphere. However, like I said, they didn't have the availability at that time.

The staff was fine. I didn’t have any problems with it, but it was not what I was looking for. I like their programs, but I didn’t like the fact they didn’t have handicapped accessible rooms to choose from. Their dining room was fine though.

The staff was very nice and knowledgeable as far as my husband’s diabetes. They knew what type of food to bring. Everything was nice, clean, and orderly. The apartments weren’t as large in size; there wasn’t enough space, and there is one bathroom, but it is fine.

They did not have any openings. It was pretty nice. The apartments were large and clean. The studio apartment was very large for a studio, so you have a choice between it and a one-bedroom apartment. The staff was helpful, friendly, and very professional. They had church services.

It is very nice, and they have lots to offer. It is the location that we are looking at because my children are living further south. I have nothing bad to say about them. They have field trips to the casino and to special events like opera or plays. They answered everything we have questions for.

Mom has finally decided to go, so that's where she is now. It's a wonderful place, and it's larger than where she was. She has a buddy there now. They have a lot of activities. They have scheduled meals in a large dining room and so many more things than she was getting before. They come in weekly for cleaning.

It looked great. It was also clean. Everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly. No problem there. The rooms were also clean. However, it was the cost that makes my mother not able to go there.

The staff were very congenial when I went there. They have a main building and villas and it's very nice. I am pretty interested in the facility and I am waiting for a two-bedroom apartment. I was able to see the rooms and I like it because it was roomy. I felt comfortable with their staff, but the only thing I'm not crazy about this facility is because when you in the villa you have to pay extra for the food and it would be quite expensive if you add it to the amount of the rent.

My father-in-law has been in here for about a month and a half now. The food is good. The people take care of him and he is happy to be there. The facility is very nice. It felt like a hotel when I walked in there for the first time. It's been good so far.
