I am/was a resident of this facility
I hate Ivy Apartments, but it’s better than others. The food is horrible, and what’s on the menu is not available. The staff is very pleasant but overworked, and they cut the wait staff. The rooms and apartments are nice but tiny. The staff is very good, but I don’t like the management; they are a 0 to me. They have some activities, like bingo.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
This is a full-service facility that has assisted living on one side and is connected to a nursing home on the other side of the building. I have had experiences with both facilities.Staff - My Great-grandmother was 99 years old when we made the decision to put her in this nursing home. She was mentally alert, but due to dementia, was unable to move very well and could no longer climb the stairs to get to the bathroom or the bedroom. As expected, she was reluctant to go,however, the staff greeted her warmly and it was only a few weeks before she felt at home.My grandmother and grandfather were, 86 and 85 respectively, when they decided that they needed to go to a facility. The staff conducted an intake interview, where they asked lots of questions about what they like and don't like. In the first few weeks, they received lots of knocks on the door inviting them downstairs to participate in activities that they liked. It helped make the transition much easier.Amenities - Both sides offer quite a few amenities that make life easier, housekeeping, rides to appts and scheduled grocery shopping trips, meals are served 3x's per day in the dining room as well, seasonal activities for holiday shopping and July 4th celebrations, and in-house entertainment is scheduled throughout the week.Facility - The buildings are kept up nicely. I run into a housekeeper several times during week when visiting and my gp's laundry in kept up consistently. The maid even washes up any dirty dishes that are in the sink when she comes.Overall - My grandparents are all very comfortable in this facility and I rest a lot easier at night knowing that they are being looked after so well.
