I visited this facility

I visited Holiday Lighthouse Pointe. They took me on a tour, showed me around and it was very nice. The people were very pleasant and welcoming. They invited me for lunch, so I had lunch there, and I was introduced to quite a few people. It was a very nice place, very pleasant. The rooms, none of them were furnished. The others were either empty or being invaded. They were all very clean. Except for ones being renovated. They were in a renovated state but they were very nice. I enjoyed them. I'm considering it. Also considering other options but Lighthouse Point was very nice. I enjoyed the people there and they were very informative and very welcoming.

My mom moved into Holiday Lighthouse Pointe. The facility is very nice and well-maintained. The staff is very polite. They're also very encouraging for guests to be more sociable and more active, which is what I've been looking for. It's been a great fit. They provide a lot more for what they're charging compared to a lot of places nearby that charge the same amount but offer nothing. They offer community activities, three meals a day, and rides for religious events. They also have in-house religious events, which is also really nice. It's overall an excellent choice, but it's expensive. My mom's studio is spacious. Every time somebody moves out, they renovate that unit, so that way it's always up-to-date and modern. They also have one-bedroom apartments as well. They have a path that goes around the building. It's like following the passage at its full length from start to finish. It's a quarter mile, so you could walk it four times to get a one-mile walk out of it. They also have an exercise room and a communal area where they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have another communal area where I think they have a barber that comes by, and they hang out there for the afternoon. They have a weight-lifting room. They have, like, a communal kitchen area and a card game room on the second floor with a poker table and other small tables. There's always something to do there, which is fantastic. I haven't had any of their food myself, but the options they have are fantastic.

I had an in-person tour of Holiday Lighthouse Pointe. It was a good tour. I viewed four different apartments. Two of the apartments were renovated, and two of them were the older ones. The staff was nice and respectful. The person who gave me my tour was friendly with the residents. You can tell he's engaged with the residents. They're doing renovations throughout the place. I got a chance to taste the food, and it was decent.

Everything about Holiday Lighthouse Pointe was wonderful. However, there was no kitchen in the apartment (all the meals were provided by the facility). There's only a hotplate, just very minimal cooking. You can bring your coffee pot, but you don't bring anything else. They have excellent staff. They were very friendly and very caring. The cleanliness was great.

Holiday Lighthouse Pointe was very, very nice. It had an apartment that I liked. I fell in love with the place, but it's too much money for me. The gentleman showed me everything. I was very happy, very pleased, and excited. He was very polite and very nice. I also met 2 different young ladies and they were super, super nice. They were all so pleasant. Somebody was doing something with puzzles and I met some people that were doing physical therapy. They had a gym and a nice walking path. They had a place where you can go and work on computers.

The staff at Holiday Lighthouse Pointe was very warm in greeting me. The residents seemed pretty happy. The walking tour was very descriptive, and the tour guide was very efficient in answering all my questions. The bedroom units were very clean and the layouts were very efficient for seniors. I loved the fact that they had balconies and porches. The amenities were great. They had an on-site physical therapist. They had almost a 3-star fine dining restaurant-style dining room. They had games and activities, and they had a nice reading area. They had a shuttle service. They would provide maid services two times a week.

Holiday Lighthouse Pointe was very friendly and very inviting. At the time of the tour, they were serving dinner. Some of the residents came and greeted me. I had my son with me, who just turned 5, and they enjoyed him. I think considering what the rooms were set up for, they were fairly decent. The bedrooms were semi-decent, space-wise. They didn't have a full kitchen. They had a half kitchen. They said that you are able to cook in your apartment, if you want to do so, but you would have to use countertop appliances. They offer meals. I saw some baked chicken, potatoes, and vegetables. I didn't really look too much, but it seemed like they had a nice healthy balanced meal. They have a little exercise area and a small library area. When I was taking the tour, the gentleman told me that a couple of those areas were going to be updated. They are going to also put a computer room there. The staff was very nice and very inviting.

We toured Holiday Lighthouse Pointe. Overall, the tour experience was excellent. I thought it was great in all aspects. It was very beautiful, clean, and organized. The staff was really very helpful. Even the residents appeared active, friendly, and engaging. They had activities. It's just a really good facility overall. I like the size of the apartments. They're really nice-sized. It was spacious enough. It was in a really nice, wooded type environment. It was just nice to look out the windows. It's cozy, like a very friendly, engaging community. People have privacy, but they also have a lot of sense of community or camaraderie, that type of thing. That's what I really liked about it. They definitely have a beauty salon, places for exercise, libraries, and lots of reading rooms. If people don't want to gather together, they have a lot of private space and all. From what I observed, the dining area was very nice, but I didn't have a chance to try their food. However, I really like the community. I like it a lot.

Holiday Lighthouse Pointe was very nice. I was pleased with it. The manager gave me a tour of the place and I got the package. The only drawback was the cost, but if we could get the money for mom to do this, that would still be the ideal place for her. The tour and the facility were just great. The atmosphere and everything were 100%. The staff was very professional, friendly, and very helpful. One of the staff came out because the way my GPS set me was in the back of the place, so she walked out, and then we saw where she was and we came in the back way. The residents were also friendly. Everyone spoke and had a smile on their face. The employees were the same.

Holiday Lighthouse Pointe was a nice facility. For my mother's needs, it was accommodating. To me, that's more for independent seniors. But it's a beautiful facility and has beautiful staff. Very pleasant. I definitely would recommend them to other families, especially if they have a senior that's a little more active and a little more independent. I think they would find them to be a good option for them. The rooms were nice. They had rooms with bathrooms in them. The one that I looked at did not have any appliances at all. But they had a beautiful dining hall, and they offered snacks and things like that. You can tell the building was very well maintained. Just from the location itself, it was located in a very beautiful section of Chesapeake. The staff came in on his day off to do the tour for me, and I was impressed with that. The staff that was there on the day that I came in for the tour, was very warm, inviting, very friendly, and very helpful. I would highly recommend that to other families. It's just that for me, what I was looking for and what I needed from my mother, I just felt that it was not a good fit for her. The staff who toured me had a beautiful personality. They went above and beyond.

Holiday Lighthouse Pointe was a very friendly community. Everyone was extremely nice. The only reason I didn't go with that one was that the other place is closer to me for my dad. I saw a one-bedroom and a loft, and I wasn't impressed with the rooms. They were OK for what my dad needed; however, there was no stovetop. There was like a microwave and a fridge. It was a nice room, but the kitchen wasn't fully stocked with what I felt it should have. They had a man singing as I was there. It was their afternoon entertainment. He had a guitar and there was a whole bunch of people around. The amenities that they showed me were nice.

I went to Lighthouse Pointe. It was very nice, but that would be for somebody that was a little more independent than I felt like my mom was. We had a tour. We looked at an apartment or two. We looked at the dining facility and all the amenities that they had on site. It was very nice. I did not try the food, but Lighthouse had more of a restaurant feel; it was kind of neat. They had fitness equipment on site. They had apartments with patios, which is kind of nice and appealing. I had an overall favorable impression of it. I would recommend Lighthouse for independent living.

I had gone to see Lighthouse Pointe and liked the community. It's an independent living and it was close to where I'm living right now. I've been here for years and I wanted to stay near my family. During my visit, I didn't see any activity and I did not taste the food. They have worship and activities every day. Everything was fine. It's going to be an adjustment for me to move there, but I have the independence to leave also so if I want to go somewhere else, I can go and not be stuck right there. The staff was very friendly. I've only spoken with the main manager though. The place was very clean. I don't know how many people have gone into a nursing home, but there's absolutely no smell or anything there. If I want to cook, I can cook something. They have the main kitchen where you can cook if you want to make dessert or something like that. All I saw in the gym were a couple of machines, which would be fine for me. As far as walking, there's plenty of walking space there. There's a library and a room where you could watch a movie, or you could take a movie back to your room to watch it. There was a piano and a lot of open space for people to just go around. If you want to be sitting down, you could too. The place is clean and it's got activities. I'm pretty sure there are other activities and other places that would be nice too but I want to go there because I am close enough to my family. My grandchildren can get on their bikes and ride to see me. They can come and go in there anytime they want to and they would be welcome.

The hallways at Lighthouse Pointe were very narrow. They provide meals which makes it more expensive. The rooms were small, but then again, I don't need a huge room so that was not a problem. A friend of mine went with me, and the management was very friendly but a little pushy. The facility was very clean. They have activities, and they were playing bocce ball. They did have community rooms, a game room and a library. They have a special day every month or every week, that they honor veterans, which is a nice thing. They had pictures of some of the veterans who live there now and had lived there in the past, and they had a wall that they were all hanging on to honor the veterans. So that was a really good thing. They showed us a menu and the food looks good, and if you didn't care for what they were having, you could get a hamburger. If it was a meal you didn't like, you could get something else and that's a good thing. I just didn't like that you've got senior citizens with walkers, and the hallways were so small and almost built closed in, and the rooms were small.

Lighthouse Pointe is a fabulous place. It's very nice. It was very organized. I like the sales representative. He explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. The place is very spacious and very clean. They have a lot of activities for the seniors. The rooms are nice. They also offer PT and OT as well. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were well kept very clean and organized. They have housekeeping services as well, which is excellent. The outdoor was well maintained and well-manicured. It was more of a courtyard feel. From what the gentleman said the layout is like a cruise ship on the inside, which it is, and you can overlook the dining area and the entertainment area.

Lighthouse Pointe is strictly independent living with three meals a day and lots of activities. That's the closest to an over 55 community, but I think that's an over 62 or something. I was impressed with that and I stayed and had lunch, and the food was good. I sat with three other ladies who live there and eat together regularly. That seemed like a decent place. The people were interesting and interested. They have all kinds of things going on. They've got a new manager who's just been there a short time, but she's moved there from one of their facilities. She was very positive and I completely liked my experience there. They have some balconies in their places, so there's a way to get outside just in your own home. They don't have full kitchens. They have refrigerators and a lot of people have put microwaves in, but because they're getting three meals a day, they don't have full kitchens. That would be the only drawback as far as I would be concerned. I think my friend who I'm looking for would be perfectly content with that. It's very refreshed and very comfortable. There are lots of open places from the dining room where I had lunch. You could see the pool table, which is a sort of at a mezzanine level, and you'd be able to see if anybody was up there playing pool so you could go and join them. Other things were kind of open and then they were getting a bingo game going right after lunch. The calendars that they have been handled well. The wait staff for the meals are the same people that do the cleaning for the units, so there's a continuity of people. You're not having completely unknown people all the time. You're having people that you have gotten to know because they come in and they do weekly cleaning of your place and then you'll see them again at the meals and I kind of like that. I had lunch there and they had maybe three choices and I got fried shrimp. They were good and they were hot when they came. They came fast. The other people at my table had already been served their meals because I sat down late, but they didn't forget me. They brought my choice promptly, then they had a small serving of ice cream for dessert or an offering of fresh fruit. It was just very, very pleasant and very relaxing and people seemed busy. The main person I talked to was the manager and she was very good.

Dad was going to go for independent living at Lighthouse Pointe, but they needed to assess him, and when they did, the price went up big time, so I couldn't afford to put him there. I wasn't too happy with that because I really liked that place. I loved it but it was two stories, which wasn't bad, but it was open where they could see over the railing. I didn't care for that too much. It was like an atrium where they can look down. I wanted it to be closed in where he couldn't get to the railing and maybe fall or get lost. I didn't care for the setup because it's not a setup he would remember. Where he's at is the perfect setup because it's squared off and it's closed in on all sides. The apartment looked great. It was big, roomy, and nice. I really liked it. The staff during the tour was wonderful. She showed us where he would stay in the studio apartment, what they looked like, where they were, and how the building was set up and arranged. She did an excellent job. They were clean.

I didn't see anything I did not like at Lighthouse Pointe. I had signed up with them even that first day after the tour and then things took a real different turn pretty quickly. I loved everything about it, the location, the grounds were just gorgeous, the apartments were nice, and the balconies. I met some of the residents while I was there. My mother-in-law would be living there now if things hadn't changed. I thought it was wonderful. Some places although very nice had more of an industrial look and the Lighthouse Pointe looked very homey and I liked it. I think she would've loved living there. They had balconies out over the courtyard. Everything was just very nice. The staff was very nice. My mother-in-law couldn't be with me that day, so they sent food to her home. They gave me a meal for myself and her that I was able to bring home for her. We had dessert and the chef came out to find out what she liked and what I would like and customized the meal, I'm sure, based on what he had on the menu that day, but it was very nice.

Lighthouse Pointe is in a nice location, and it was mostly quiet. The person that gave the tour was OK. We had an appointment, but I think the person that I was supposed to meet was not there for whatever reason. The person I met might not have been assigned to me because she acted a little flustered. I was a little frustrated with that because I made the appointment a week ago. I think they're a little shortsighted to not have at least one wheelchair to roll a person around or even a stroller. I know it's not their job to provide the equipment, but it just seemed kind of shortsighted if you're trying to sell these places. Someone could come in and need that stuff. They didn't have it, so it was a turn-off.

Lighthouse Pointe was a good facility. They offered a lot of things with the members, a lot of activities, and outings. The staff took us around and showed us multiple rooms for options, the activity rooms, and the schedule of events. Everything was really consolidated. You can get to everything with no issues. There is a lot of space. It's kind of spaced out, so there's a lot of moving room.

Lighthouse Pointe is a beautiful place. They come across as being very organized, very friendly, very clean, and they encourage a good variety of social activities. They offer a good amount of security and safety, they have pull lines in the bathrooms, and the rooms are of a pretty good size, too. They also have studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. They are located off of Great Bridge Boulevard, so there is not as much traffic as there used to be. They are way back up the actual street itself and kind of sit in a cul-de-sac with a really nice wooded area, so it is a really nice, secure environment. I was with a particular women's organization, and we used to always meet in their activity room. We got to talking with some of the staff, and they gave me a tour. As a matter of fact, I just spoke with them not too long ago, and they were encouraging me to come out and take another tour. They used to bring us nice little snacks for our meeting, which was very sweet of them, and everything I had there was very good. The staff members were very friendly, very patient, and very kind.

We are very happy with my father being at Lighthouse Pointe. It’s beautifully decorated and has a gorgeous dining area. They have a library, a game room with pool tables, and a bus that takes the residents to the local malls and doctors' appointments if their family can’t do so. We are very happy, but they are not assisted living and don’t have medical services when he gets to a point where he might need help with his meds or other things.

One thing I didn't like is you cannot cook your own food in the apartment because all the meals are provided, and included in the cost. The dining area was very neat. My grandmother lives at the Lighthouse Pointe, a great independent living facility that does not offer much assisted living. They provide a lot of activities for the residents. The food is amazing, which is the highlight of the community. They keep it all well updated and have a lot of live musicians come in for mini concerts. It’s a very lovely community and very affordable, but the only downside is that they only have one elevator and it has three floors.

Lighthouse Pointe was beautiful. If I were 20 years older, I would have no problem going in because the average age was 80. I loved the place. I had a tour. The dining room was humongous. It was out in the open and not closed in. Anybody could sit at the table; it was not restricted, and it was pretty cool. They had activities, and they also had the holidays. They were the ones that said you could stay in one of their properties for vacation, which I thought was very cool. The rooms were in nice sizes. I was looking at the two-bedroom, and I thought it was a good size bedroom. The staff was very friendly. They knew everybody's name, which was always a plus. The place was very ornate, very open, and I loved it. I loved the elevators and the arena type setup where you can see downstairs from the balcony. The food was wonderful, and the service was great. While we were there, someone started playing the piano, a lot of the seniors started singing, and it was a very friendly atmosphere. They were active seniors. We walked into a chair aerobics class that was going on. It was very relaxed, and it was a very beautiful facility. I did like it, but it is totally out of our price range.

I visited this facility

Lighthouse was pretty good. The location and the staff were both very good. The residents were also nice to me, and when I left, everybody was saying: "I hope to see you back." I felt good about the way they treated me. The dining room was clean. They had activities.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm staying at Lighthouse Pointe for almost a year now. It's a little bit more than what I want and what I'm accustomed to, but it's really a very nice place. We have a dining room where we have our meals and these are all prepared by the facility. The food is good, it's not my home cooking but it's good. They have many programs and activities scheduled and majority of the residents here are very content, pleased and happy.
