My grandmother has been living at this facility for the better part of the last 10 years and since 2003 alone, since my grandfather passed away. I think in a lot of ways the Saltzman House is fairly standard assisted living facility. It provides my grandmother and other residents opportunities to do a variety of different activities each day, including trips to local destinations. One thing that I have noticed, that my grandmother has mentioned as well, is that there are a lot of cliques in the building, not unlike a college dorm. In a way, I actually feel like this is a good thing because this suggests that residents are able to choose their own friends and social circles. Residents are not forced to be moved like cattle, made to spend time with each other.I will say that the building is a little rough on the edges when it comes to details, but none in a way that compromises the quality of residential life. But as an example, my grandfather has been dead for 7 years and his name is still on the residential nameplate in the entranceway.
