Variety of ages and abilities. Average age is 80+. Favorite things to do include parties, bingo, tri-ominos and dominos, lectures on items of interest, occasional trips to eat out, and some crafting.

Fountain Place is only blocks from our village Senior Center, post office, city hall and village bank. Walking trails, water sports, fishing, 2 championship golf courses, lots of village clubs and organizations.

What are some recent off-site events that the community activity director at Fountain Place has organized?

A night at "Crusier's" restaurant with dinner, music and dancing!

What transportation services does Fountain Place offer to independent living residents?

We use community volunteers to offer scheduled transportation to appointments. Out of town appointment trips can also be arranged if scheduled.

What makes the chef or dining program at Fountain Place exceptional? What kind of menu can independent living residents expect?

Home cooking...southern style with some flair!

What common areas are available for independent living residents?

We offer various sitting rooms for bird watching, library areas, even an audio book library. Residents gather in our main house sitting room and visit prior to meal times. We have a party room if a resident wants to hold a gathering such as a bridge group or church group.

What safety features or security measures does Fountain Place offer to independent living residents?

Cherokee Village and immediate area, named "The Quad Cities" also encompasses Ash Flat, Hardy and Highland, AR. Police patrol our campus regularly.Our area crime rate is extremely low and all area cities have their own police forces as well as State Police patrols regularly. Our fire department is only 2 miles away and offers lift assists and EMT service. Fountain Place offers Lifeline Services with fall detectors as part of the monthly fee. Residents of Fountain Place confident that life here is safe and comfortable as each apartment is equipped with deadbolt locks. An attendant is awake and on duty 27 hours per day/7 days per week and just a phone call away.

If Fountain Place accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?

Fountain Place sits on 22 acres and residents are free to walk their dogs anywhere on campus as long as they clean up after them.

Does Fountain Place work with an agency or registry to provide nursing and medical assistance as needed?

There are many options for help in the home in our immediate area. We can provide information for those who need help in their home whether it is Home Health (skilled nursing), Home Care (non-skilled assistance) or even 24 hour caregivers. Just ask the Managing Director!

About Fountain Place

Nestled in the expanse of Cherokee Village in north-central Arkansas is Fountain Place, a Christian Independent Living Campus with many apartments and access to all the amenities surrounding our community. Apartments are available at new rates that new residents will find to be pleasantly surprising!

The origins of Fountain Place started in the 1960s as a Master Planned Community. Mr. Cooper constructed this building as his personal residence. Thanks to the efforts of the Spring River Village, Inc. organization and a coalition of over 50 churches, Fountain Place has been transformed into a wonderful Christian Independent Living Campus.

What Makes Us Special

We offer a "Move In First" program which offers reduced rental until the house sells then a settlement and increase to regular rental price. Fountain Place is the former home of John A. Cooper, Sr. and his wife Mildred Borum Cooper, who developed Cherokee Village, Bella Vista and Hot Springs Village. They were the first planned retirement communities in the United States. The facility sits on the 22 acre wooded estate overlooking Lake Thunderbird in Cherokee Village, just 2 minutes from our Village Town Center which houses the Post Office, Bank, City Hall, Police Department and various shops. Cherokee Village boasts 7 lakes and two 18 hole championship caliber golf courses! It is as private as you want to be!
