I visited this facility

We visited Legacy Village of Castle Pines. I liked the staff. The lady who took us around was very considerate, very open, and took her time with us. What I liked about the apartments was they were quite a bit larger than the ones at the other facility that we've visited and they had balconies and patios. And they seemed to have more closet space. The main floor overlooks a lower level like you were on a loft or something. It looks down on the cafeteria level, and then they have a courtyard where the balconies overlook the courtyard. They don't have the mountain view, which means a lot to us. But it's a very nice forest area. They had a library, a workout room, and a pool table.

I visited this facility

We toured Legacy Village of Castle Pines. All I can say is they were wonderful. They're five stars all the way, but at the end of the day, they didn't have a room for my mom or I would have gone with them. The facility was beautiful. The people that tried to help me were fantastic. It just didn't work out in the end, but all of those things were good. The staff who gave the tour was very on top of everything. She was just very kind and very helpful. She's tried very hard to help us make it work there. She couldn't have been better. The rooms were pretty standard floor plans for assisted living, but they were nice. They had a kitchenette in them. It was adequate. We walked through the dining area, and it was very nice. There was lots of light and lots of windows. They were friendly. They had lots of activities. They had way more than my mom would be able to participate in. They had bingo, they had an audiobook club as well as a regular book club, and they had lots of outings. I don't remember all their activities, but it was an impressive list.

I visited this facility

The tour at Legacy Village of Castle Pines was great. They were friendly. They let me talk to residents. I asked residents, "What's the best thing about this place?" and they quickly both said that the staff is just amazing. The rooms were newer. I think the facility is only about five years old, so it's more modern, but it's fully equipped. They're more expensive. They were clean. The dining rooms looked great. They gave me a schedule of activities for the month or the week. They have a very good movie theater there. They have bingo and happy hours. They bring in somebody from the outside. It's a very nice facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife was at Legacy Village of Castle Pines. She was there for two weeks while I was in the hospital. It was my only contact with them, and the personnel there were outstanding. The layout was very nice. My impression of it was that the rooms were nicely furnished, clean, and very well cared for. My contact with the staff was just outstanding. Everyone was friendly. The residents that I ran into were very friendly and very complimentary of that facility. I only had food in the memory care, and it was OK. It was not great, but it was OK. There was an exercise area. They were doing bingo when I walked by. The director there was wonderful.

Provider Response

I visited this facility

I saw both independent and assisted living facilities at Legacy Village of Castle Pines. It's brand new and beautifully laid out. I really liked the separation of the independent living apartments and the assisted living. I'm assisted living, but I appreciate their paradigm of separating some activities between assisted living and independent. That was a positive for me. However, I decided on the other place because there were more things around. This facility was a rather isolated building. The staff was very helpful and very nice. The food was very nice. I very much appreciated the assisted living people in a separate dining room. They also had a memory care that was another closed area. I liked the separation of the three aspects of aging in place. I wasn't there long enough to observe any activities. I was there to tour the building. Underground parking was a big plus, and there's availability of more than one washing machine and one dryer on each floor. Other than the dining room service, I didn't meet any staff, and they were very nice. We had one meal there, and it was very nice. The apartments were a little bit smaller than I had anticipated.

My mother, who is 93, fell and broke her hip. recently. After rehabilitation, we had to place her in a new living environment asap, since she could no longer live alone. This is really stressful on family! I researched quickly and extensively all her options for Assisted Living. Legacy is FIVE STAR in EVERY REGARD! I know my mom is safe in her beautiful 1 bedroom apt., being taken care of by wonderful caregivers, and Legacy is only about 2 years old. So everything is almost brand new. I would not hesitate to place a parent in Legacy. Thanks Legacy! :)

The Legacy Village of Castle Pines was very good, and I really liked it. The staff was fantastic; they knew what they were doing. It was great. They had a beauty salon for my mom, they had a library, a movie theater, and the set up looked really nice for elderly parents. They had a full kitchen, which was nice, they had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a nice living room. It was OK. Not very spacious, but nice enough for people at that stage.

I visited this facility

I liked the overall feel of Legacy Village of Castle Pines. It's nice and open. I got to meet some of the staff members and I had a really good tour. The dining room was nice, the facilities themselves were nice, and the room was just what I was looking for. We're going to try and get our dad there.

Nice looking facility. Started out okay for respite care and turned into a nightmare. Care was not good for the most part (only about 1-2) were good care givers, administrators played the bait and switch game. Very sad.

My parents have lived at Legacy for 9 months and they just love it. My dad loves the fact that there is a much higher ratio of men to women than there seemed to be at all the other places we visited. The staff is so caring and the food is excellent. When my mom had to go to a rehab facility for a few weeks, someone from Legacy stopped by to visit and bring her flowers. It was such a caring and kind gesture and it made my mom and dad's day. It frustrates me that someone who only came to visit it when it was brand new gave it a poor review. If course, it was quiet and there weren't a lot of residents around...it was brand new! The other residents here have been SO friendly and it's rare to ever see anyone sitting alone. Many of the other residents moved here from other senior care facilities in the area after they opened and all that we have talked to have said how much happier they are here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Legacy to anyone looking for independent, assisted, or memory care for their loved one.

Both of my parents reside in Memory Care at Legacy Village. I moved them there from a facility in Castle Rock that we were not at all happy with. I can honestly say that Legacy Village has been wonderful. My parents love the “Personal Touch” philosophy: caregivers make a point of touching the residents via holding hands with them, rubbing their back, placing a hand on their shoulder or giving a hug. They constantly tell me how much they love living there. Best of all, I am back to being a daughter again, not a part-time caregiver. I am able to travel and enjoy retirement because my parents are in Legacy Village. The facility is modern and very clean. My parents are happy with the food. The caregivers are wonderful and very loving. A nurse is on site to address healthcare questions in a timely fashion and we use the visiting nurse practioner service so we no longer are taking them to the doctor frequently. To sum it up, Legacy Village has been a godsend for our family. To know that Mom and Dad are being watched closely and taken care of in such a loving manner is priceless!

Provider Response

Thank you so much for your review. We love having your parents as part of our community! It is important to us to provide enough support so families can focus on enjoying time with their loved ones. I am glad that we've helped you find that balance so you can enjoy your time traveling too! All team members really focus on making a heart-to-heart connection with residents and families. I'm grateful that you and your parents have experienced those connections.

My dad is now in Legacy Village. It is a beautiful community, but it is probably better for people who are a little bit agile. My dad is in memory care, and right now, there are not a lot of people there, so that's a good thing. The staff members do a good job; they seem to be caring. The food is very good. My dad plays cards, balloon volleyball, and coloring. They have activities as far as people coming in like people that play piano, so that's nice.

I visited this facility

Legacy Village of Castle Pines was brand new. The facilities were adequate, and it was a nice enough place, but there was no one there, and that bothered me. It looked like they had several amenities, but no one was in any of these places they showed me. They had a game room and an art room. They didn't have as many choices for facilities. As far as the grounds, it looked adequate. However, I didn't like the idea that I did not see people around. When I was leaving, which was at lunch time, I had to walk through the restaurant to get out to where my car was parked, I saw three or four people but none of them looked happy and none of them had anybody with them. They were all sitting at the table all by themselves. I didn't like that. It is hard to rate it because it felt very cold. There was nothing really negative except I didn't have a good feel about it.
