I visited this facility

Emerson at Rosemeade Park was awesome. It used to be the Corinthians, and we had looked at it before for my father-in-law, and so I really liked it. People had dogs, and my cousin likes dogs, and the room we're looking at opened out to a courtyard. They had buses that would take my cousin to Walmart. Once a week, they'd go out to dinner. They provided the three meals, and it was close to where I live. It was seven to ten minutes max to get there on a busy day. The facility was great. We saw a lady that was 103. The people looked happy. They took my cousin out to meet some people that were out smoking to get acquainted and they were by far not your older, older people that were in wheelchairs or anything like that. We also saw a group later on as we were getting ready to leave, one of them could have been my grandmother or mother, and she was praying and four others were singing hymns. We really liked the atmosphere there. They were having a luau and we were invited to come, but my cousin wasn't interested because it was just really hot. They had activities. They would have doctors come. It was beautiful on the inside. The person during the tour was terrific. She had a sense of humor. I liked the room we saw because it was on the bottom floor and it had a patio where you could put two chairs or something, and all of the people let their dogs run. My cousin was happy about that, but her memory just wouldn't do it. Independent living is all there is. There's no move-up place to go. They would have to leave or have extra care brought in. Their dining plan wasn't real strict. You could go in anytime you wanted. It was served like restaurant style. They'd give you a menu and you would choose from it. They had a salad bar always. They had a library, a TV room, and an area where they did chair basketball. They had an activity room. They offered a lot, like they would have something weekly or monthly. They had media rooms that had movie nights and stuff like that. I really liked it. They didn't have the beauty shop or anything like that, but that's easily fixed.

I went to Emerson at Rosemeade Park. It was very large, very clean, and very comfortable. They have games and recreation. I thought it was nice. You could eat in your room if you didn't want to go to the dining room. They have like a studio available. I think for what they are charging, it's too much. All seniors can't afford that. For the cost, I think the room was small. As for activities, they have a pool table, and if you like games, you could games. I thought they were very nice and considerate in trying to get me one of the units. But you have to look at the fact that you have to pay a $500-deposit to get them to hold them. It's like a security, but it's like you're paying a whole cost upfront besides the cost, like an administrative type fee. It's already expensive, so you're almost doubling the cost to move in. It was too expensive. However, the staff was very good.

I visited this facility

I went to Emerson at Rosemeade Park yesterday. The staff was very friendly. I got to see all the open common areas, we went and looked at one of the apartments, and they're actually pretty spacious. They've got a lot of activities that they scheduled. They served three meals a day, so that's pretty good. The one downside that I can see for my parents is that there's not a pool onsite. That was something that they were really hoping for. The staff member was great. She was very, very knowledgeablem, everybody she walked past, she knew them, and everybody was friendly and said hi all the way through. And so it was good. They have a small refrigerator/freezer, apartment size, and they've got a microwave and a sink. I asked, and you're allowed to bring a hot plate or something like that, a coffee maker if you want one, but they don't have full kitchens.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for the review. We're happy you took the time to visit and look forward to hearing from you again.

Emerson at Rosemeade Park was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The square footage was a lot smaller than I expected though but I understand why the building was set up that way.

I visited this facility

I went to Emerson at Rosemeade Park. It was a very nice place, and the people were all very nice. The main thing was when we were talking, and they found I had an open wound. I am missing a leg, and I am wheelchair bound right now. It was more that I had an open wound, and I was under wound care. That was their biggest thing, but the facility was nice. Everybody that worked there was very nice. It seemed to be kept very well, but they just couldn't handle my situation. I was looking at having some help for getting transportation to and from doctor's appointments, getting around, and doing things like that. I wanted to have home health available, medications, and also meal service. It was all available. I walked around the room and looked at it. The rooms are nice. They would have accommodated me with the wheelchair, and there were bars on the walls and things like that for handicapped. There are multiple floors, and I'm looking for rooms on the floor. The rooms were big enough, and they were big for what I needed myself. The social programs seem to be great at getting people to gather and having things available in their own property. There were grounds behind it and around it, and they seemed to be well decorated. The staff was a really nice lady, and any questions I had she was able to answer. She was very knowledgeable and very welcoming.

The one-bedroom was really tiny. I would have to get rid of so much of my furniture. I didn't want to go there. Some people were in wheelchairs, but most of them were independent. They're doing some upgrading on the property. They provide some activities, but there's not a whole lot. The two people that I met seemed OK. It was a clean facility. The meal looked pretty good. They were having meatballs and vegetables when I was there.

It was in the process of doing some remodeling. The rooms that they've already remodeled were a lot nicer than the ones that weren't done yet. The place looked clean, and the one staff I met was very knowledgeable and friendly. They had movie nights and game nights. The dining room looked good. They've got a bus that can take people around if they have appointments or if they want to go to the stores.

The staff was very friendly. The facility was very well decorated. We toured an apartment and it was quite roomy. As my husband and I walked around, all of the residents told us they enjoyed living there. I was happy to see there was a chapel on site that had daily mass.

I visited this facility

I had a very brief visit. It seemed nice but it just didn't seem nice enough for what I was looking for at that time. What was appealing to me was the outside of the place. It was very attractive. However, when you walk in, it was not. The staff seemed very kind. Their residents seem happy though I only saw a few. Their rooms were very simple.

We liked that it was a smaller community so it had more personal contact. The facility was bright and open. I had the opportunity to talk to the residents as we walked around and they knew the people that worked there. They all felt comfortable together.
