I liked The Woods at Cedar Run a lot. The thing I like the most would be the size of the facility and it's very private. It's secluded in a wooded area and it's not large. I liked the size of the place. They don't have a lot of extras that people our age don't need. The food was very good. They gave me some lasagna. It was wonderful. I just didn't like it that if you get very old and very ill, your family's got to step in and move you someplace else. The dining room was nice and people were eating. They were very friendly. The lady that toured with me was very good, very friendly, and knowledgeable.

The Woods has been a blessing for my Mother and our family. Just knowing the staff and management team are hands on makes the overall process a great fit.

Most people do not know the difference between facilities and what questions are important to ask. This facility was very good at educating me about that and I appreciated it. I did not know that all of them do not take you in for your care from independant living to end of life. The only thing they do not offer is Skilled Nursing which most places do not offer due to the potentially high costs. You need to ask if the facility you are considering is a Medicaid Facility and the financial implications and requiements involved. That's very important. They introduce you to a mentor when you first move in. That is usually someone who has been there a while and will dine with you and introduce you to other residents until you feel comfortable and at home. PRICELESS

I will be moving into the Woods at Cedar Run. It is a wonderful facility. The facility is well kept. The plants, trees, flowers, everything on the outside is just as beautiful as the inside. Everybody needs to know that it's an incredible organization. They know what they're doing and they take very good care of their customers. The staff is upbeat, friendly, informative, and they answer all your questions. They solve any problems or issues you have. They are wonderful. They have music, with charcuterie boards and wines. The food is delicious. The apartment that I'm moving into is beautiful and good enough for me.

My father moved into The Woods at Cedar Run. We chose it because it is located close to my house, the price was right, and the community was right. He has a 1-bedroom apartment and it's nice. They have a couple of activities every day. He's in the Bible club and the chess club. He plays bingo, and they have movies. It's an older facility, but it's nice. What's nice is they have a cleaning person that comes in once a week to vacuum everything and do light housekeeping in my dad's apartment. There were just a few little things like they were a little slow on getting my dad's evening pass to get in the doors from outside after 7 PM. It took him about a week and a half to get that form. Just little things that were kind of upsetting, but they weren't dealbreakers by any means.

My father will be moving into The Woods at Cedar Run. They were all friendly. My brother and I felt that our dad would be comfortable there. He is going to be getting a lot of good care. The staff and the Director of Nursing were very friendly, helpful, and caring; that is why we decided to go there. The food was good. My brother and I had a free meal along with our dad when we toured the place. I had crab cakes, french fries, and vegetables. We were satisfied, and my father enjoyed the meal. The place was very good and very clean. We liked it a lot compared to where my dad is at now.

My father moved into The Woods at Cedar Run. It's wonderful. His unit is a one-bedroom about 700 square feet. It has a full kitchen, a bathroom with granite, a washer and dryer, and a balcony. It's a beautiful facility. They go to the grocery store three times a week. They have plays. They have a movie theater on site. They have a chess club, devotionals twice a week, and bingo twice a week. You name it, they have it all. The food is excellent. They eat dinner in a solarium that overlooks a creek and a walking path. Their common areas have a dual-side fireplace with a library and a computer room. It's nice. The staff there are all very accommodating, very nice, and very pleasant.

The Woods at Cedar Run is fantastic. It is one of the highest-rated ones that I visited. The place is absolutely beautiful. It looks like an apartment building rather than like a facility. They even are very proud of the fact that they do not want to be known as a facility, and that they are known as a community. They never want to hear the 'facility' word. The apartments are fantastic. They have memory care there. Their memory care is smaller. They only have 18 in their memory care, but it's lovely. It looks more like a hotel than it does any type of community. They have activities for their personal care as well as for their memory care. They have a huge calendar of activities. The rooms were beautiful, and they had different sizes. They starte with a studio. They had one-bedrooms or two bedrooms, and some were very large. They also had a cafeteria there if people wanted to get something in between the main meals. They have a salon, a bistro, and a beautiful movie. From what I saw of the staff, they were fantastic. The staff also took me to the memory care side, and everybody seemed very nice. They were doing activities even with the individuals in memory care. I got to talk to some of the staff and they all seemed very, very nice. Something else they told me that I thought was very nice is that they have what's called an ambassador program. So, any resident coming in will be assigned another resident and that resident will make sure that they understand the activities and kind of keep an eye on them and help get them involved. I was very, very impressed with them.
