My brother-in-law has moved into Vanadium Woods Village last week. We chose that one because of the distance between my house, my daughter's house, and my son's house. It was very convenient for us. The minute we came in, we were greeted and welcomed. We were able to spend a day there where we enjoyed the food, which was very good, and it's correct portions for my brother-in-law. The actual facility is very nicely laid out with very nice community spaces. There are three different community spaces. My brother-in-law loves activities, and they have exactly what he enjoys doing like bingo, they do exercise, and they have music class. They have all kinds of activities. What sold that place was Gina, she's the activities director, and she is over-the-top phenomenal in what she does. My brother-in-law can progress to different care facilities should he decline, but he's very independent right now with very limited meds. He could do everything himself. They have that home care kind of service. This was a big point for us because we could do half our units of those where they go and just do med check reminders and shower reminders. And it was very reasonably priced, and that was the most important selling point. We didn't want him to go broke living his life. For less than $2200 a month right now, he is well taken care of and he loves everyone there. There's a refrigerator there that they supplied. My brother-in-law has a studio, so it's different if he were in a one-bedroom. There's a common washer and dryer area and that's included. They have a wonderful front porch with rocking chairs. It is in a wooded area, so it's very nice and calm. Even though it's off of a busy street, you wouldn't notice it. So that's in the front, and then in the back, they also have another area for outdoor activities. They have a shuffleboard, there's a putting green in the front, and they have a little walking trail outside. Another nice thing is they have a sunroom. My brother-in-law has a slight mental impairment, so that's why Vanadium Woods Village is good for him because there's an older crowd and he's always around with the older people more. They have set breakfast, set lunch, and set dinner and you can eat in your room (but we don't want him to do that), and we needed that kind of structure.

My friend moved into Vanadium Woods Village. I think it's great there. There's nothing that I don't like about it. I think they give them their independence. The staff who assisted me gave great information, and everybody there is very nice. We got my friend a studio efficiency room. They have someone who comes in and cleans once a week.

Vanadium Woods Village is quite a place. It has excellent food and is clean as clean can be. They keep you busy, and I like it. The food is good, and there's plenty of it.

We went to Vanadium Woods, and that seemed to be we thought where we might go. It seemed to have the most of everything, and that seemed to be our choice in the end. The rooms were nice and alright. The small rooms were almost too small, but the 2-bedroom rooms were just about right. They had a lot of activities, and they had a vehicle that would take you either to a doctor or to shopping. There was no charge which seemed to be good. They have a couple of banks that would come to the place. They had a main dining room, a little workout room, bikes you could ride, and things you could walk on.

Vanadium Woods Village was a lovely place. They didn't have any one-bedrooms available, only the studio apartment, which was quite small and compact. They served three meals a day and had a lot of different activities.

I liked Vanadium Woods Village very much. They had good people. They would come in and entertain you all the time. It was beautiful. It was right near the city and was up on the hill. It was very nice. I liked that when you go in there, everything was all-in with your monthly bill. They also do something for veterans. The apartments were very nice, but they were a little expensive.

In the winter of 2010, the tiny town of Cuddy Pennsylvania experienced a town-wide power failure, and with temperatures plummeting to 10 degrees F., local senior citizens whose home heating had failed were picked up by the local Volunteer fire department and taken to The Vanadium Woods Assisted Living facility in Bridgeville, PA. about 4 miles away. My mother, who at the time was 79 years old, was one of the seniors that was brought there. She suffers from Diabetes and takes insulin daily. Her stay at the facility lasted for just under one week. The staff at Vanadium Woods provided her with a private room and three meals a day. There wasn't much care to ensure that her meals were "Diabetic friendly", but bowls of fruit and cookies were put out for snacks and all of the seniors were urged to eat from them. The facility's rooms were well kept and clean. All of the seniors brought there were able to spend time in the main communal room during the day, but were urged to return to their rooms after having spent a couple of hours there. Overall my Mother's experience there was acceptable.
