I think out of several of the ones we looked at, Town Village Crossing was just very joyful. The whole ambiance was happy, upbeat, and kind of exciting instead of discouraging. The apartment had a full kitchen with a refrigerator, an oven, a stovetop, a dishwasher, a garbage disposal, and a microwave. That was the best-appointed kitchen out of all of them. I like it a lot. The person who took me around was very energetic and knowledgeable. We ate with them, and the food was good. The restaurant was very good. The place was very well kept.

Town Village Crossing had a very updated facility. They had ten acres, so they had a long walking path, which is nice. It was just very pretty and calm. The staff was very friendly. She did a very quick tour because she wanted us to have lunch and meet some of the residents. So we spent more time with residents than we did with her. The residents were very friendly, welcoming, and very active as well, which I think helped my dad to talk to some other men his age who were in his situation but not deteriorating. They had transportation. They had a Bible study group going on when we were there.

We toured many places prior to moving mom into Town Village Crossing. Initially we loved her new community but lately, the community is not the same. Not because of the hourly staff but because of the management and corporate. The food looks better than it taste lately. We arrived to eat a meal with mom and was disappointed in the food. Meals are included in her rent and the quality is not what it once was. The potato salad had radishes, the salad bar lettuce was old and expired, and the food itself had no flavor. The community recently changed internet and phone providers and it’s been a nightmare ever since! Prior to the change, we paid for mom to have her own modem. Initially, we didn’t like having to pay for it but looking back at it now, we would go back to paying for it without complaint. The community has one person, Chris, who handles all the complaints and fixes the problems when it’s fixable. We made the mistake of asking Polly once for help…well she was no help. She was rude, short with the answer and told mom she had to wait for Chris to return on Monday. Today while visiting mom we learned the phones and internet was out yet again. We have been dealing with this problem for months now. This is the “free” internet they advertise. This isn’t a problem only my mom is having but the entire community. We have placed several complaints with the front desk, Windy and Polly, and nothing is being done. We are told that we can wait it out or set up an account with Spectrum. The building is old and it shows. There are multiple leaks with every rain storm. Since moving mom in there have been at least 3 floods due to old pipes. It seems as though the things needing to be fixed aren’t being fixed yet new furniture continues to arrive. This week their back gate broke, again! The top portion broke and was leaning forward, a true safety hazard and do you think it’s fixed? No! They just put cones up and leave it. The worst part is that management will raise moms rent and continue to put referral flyers in her box to help move people into a building that is failing apart. Most of moms friends have now moved out as there seems to be someone moving out every week and we are counting the days when mom will too.

My mother moved into Town Village Crossing. It has a very homey atmosphere. It has grassy garden areas that she can go out into, which is a plus for her. It has many activities. It was friendly and cozy. The apartment that she got has a full kitchen in it, which she wanted, and an oven stove and a refrigerator. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room, so it's roomy. She has a study where she has a desk, a computer, and a sewing machine. She has plenty of room. She has meals, and it's all-inclusive. There's a church on the property, a beauty salon, activities like art classes and exercise classes, book clubs, Bible studies, games and competitions, board games, and special nights where they have special food and special parties. They have happy hour with dancing. She is having a lot of fun there, and she's met a lot of people. Everyone's nice and helpful, both the people that work here and the residents. That's why we chose it. It also turned out to be even better than we thought. The staff is friendly and informative, gave us several tours, and gave us all the paperwork, calendar, menu, and everything we needed to make our decision. Mom says the food is very, very good. The food's better than she thought it would be, but I haven't eaten there.

I don't have any negative about Town Village Crossing. It was our favorite. We liked that it has a very homey atmosphere. It didn't seem like a retirement community, not like you're moving somewhere where you were left to die. I liked the meal options they had. Everybody was personable. About 20 people were sitting on the front porch that day, it was a nice day, and they were all friendly and have been there for years. So that was encouraging that people liked it and stayed. They were doing some remodeling. It didn't look bad, it's just they were redoing a couple of things, but that was no big deal. It was very clean. The staff was very nice. They gave us a little dessert gift as we left, and mom liked that. The staff was very personable, very nice, informative, and very caring. The dining room was very clean and had a very inviting atmosphere. It wasn't really an assisted living, but they had the option that you could call it at-home stay, where you could still be as independent as you could be, and you could still get someone in there to help.

We will be moving my mom into Town Village Crossing, and it seems to be great. We've been here a couple of times. She is in a studio apartment, and it is a pretty nice apartment. They have physical therapy, occupational therapy, exercising five days a week, church on Sundays, and other indoor and outdoor activities like bingo and things like that. They also have a movie theater. The place is very clean.
