I visited this facility

My husband and I attended a special guest dinner in the Fall of 2022. The food was healthy but not particularly well prepared, except for the salmon. We shared a table with a couple who had lived there a year or so and loved it. We met the marketing and activities staff and the chef. They all seemed very nice. They are a rental with services and 3 meals/day. We heard a presentation about their programed activities, many of which are initiated by the residents. They do community service through more than one partnership. The activities seemed to be their strong suit. We were disappointed that they didn't have much area for walking outdoors, just around the building. The 1-BR apartment they showed us was quite small. They do have 2 BR apts. though. The fitness room and pool were beautiful. Everything was clean and well maintained. We didn't get to the point of talking prices, so I couldn't rate value, but I imagine they are in the same range as other places that offer the same services. A few days later, I read their mission online, which is a religious statement. This was a turn off so I talked to my marketing contact and she was lovely about it. She understood and said she had felt the same when she started, but she has not seen the least bit of pressure on anyone, including herself, to conform to any religious belief or practice.

We visited Cambridge Village of Apex, that one was very good. We were very happy that we went in there. The food was wonderful, and my parents liked a lot about it. It was very new and very modern. The layout of the facility made it easy to navigate and get around. It was nice that there was an abundance of parking for those people that had their own vehicle that wanted to get out and venture, but they also offered the ability to transfer. One of the things that was important to my parents was the close proximity of a church, and would they be able to provide transportation. They assured my parents that not only do they have transportation, that they have a lot of residents that go to those churches, and that they could probably carpool with those that still could drive. So, everything that they wanted was met. The apartment was furnished, and it has new appliances, and stainless steel, and everything was good. Some of the places had ovens, and some of them did not. They have room service, and they have a dining room. There were six of us, we had lunch at the facility and Dad was impressed. He's a soup aficionado, and the soup that he had was delicious. I had a Reuben sandwich, and Mom had a salad with chicken. So, we had a variety of different things, and everybody kind of did a quick sampling of the food. It was also freshly prepared, so it was very nice. They have a nice selection on the menu. Although the menu was generic, it had lunch on one side, and dinner on the other, and they change it out periodically, but it has everything. It has a nice view of a lake and some water features from the dining room. It was nice and quiet. I was very happy with the Wi-Fi. It was one of the first things that I need because I want to check the Wi-Fi I as we were walking around, and it was excellent just about everywhere. The person who took us around was knowledgeable, patient, informative, and professional.

I visited this facility

I visited Cambridge Village of Apex. I liked their activities, the layout of their building, and the people. The main reason we didn't choose them is that they had a yearly assessment fee (upon signing of the lease), and that's in addition to the cost of living. The staff said that that could be $2000 or it could be $5000. It was very hard to narrow down and we didn't want any kind of surprises like that coming up. If you're going to explain the cost to me, I want to know exactly how much it's going to be. I don't think I want a yearly assessment. The people were nice. The place was nice. They had transportation, activities, an indoor pool, and on-site occupational and physical therapy. Their workout facility rooms were very nice. The rooms were smaller, but they were fine. The kitchen wasn't as large as some of the other kitchens we saw. They should do some updates to their kitchens or their rooms.

Cambridge Village in Apex, North Carolina was very, very nice. In fact, we're going in another week or so for their harvest dinner. The people were very, very pleasant there. The place is very, very nice, so that is definitely on our list. Laura was wonderful. The facility itself was very, very good. Their dining area was beautiful. They have a very nice exercise room, and they have a pool. It was very pleasant. We like all the living facilities. We saw a one-bedroom. Most of the rooms were full, but this one was getting ready for a person coming in. It was very nice. The little kitchen area was very pleasant. You would be taking most of your meals in the dining room. If you want to do breakfast or whatever in your kitchen, it was very conducive to that; it was nice. The menu was wonderful. The menu looked amazing. As a starter, they have Brunswick stew or a Harvest Salad with beets, gorgonzola, cheese, sliced almonds, and pears (Yum!). With the entrée, you could have a choice of prime rib with sweet potato casserole and seasoned sauteed zucchini and squash. You could have lobster and shrimp ravioli (Yum!) with garlic bread; dessert was Bananas Fosters. Holy mackerel! The staff were delightful. The facility was very good. It was very nice and very clean. Everything was up to date. It was very pleasant. It is on our list. We like it.

We will be moving my mother into Cambridge Village of Apex. We took a tour, and it was a nice place. It was well maintained. The rep that I met with was thorough with her tour. She answered all my questions and ended up doing a follow- up tour with her. She was very accommodating, and overall, really pleasant. The place was bigger than some of the other ones that I toured. It's been laid out well, it's got a beautiful scenic view out the backside of the building with a fountain, a pond, and a boardwalk. Everything is essentially central. There are two wings to the facility, but everything kinda meets in the middle for the meals, the activities, and the wellness center. They have some other areas sprinkled throughout the facility to where they can go congregate or socialize, so they don't have to make the trek down to the cafeteria or the dining hall. They have a pool there. The pool had a lift, which was good for my mother in particular because she would need assistance getting in and out of the pool. They have game rooms, craft rooms, and they do a service every Sunday.

My visit at Cambridge Village of Apex was good. We were favorably impressed. We have a specific apartment under our option, and we can get our money back if we decide not to take it, and we are having it held for a period. They have just re-worked and re-painted it and it became available, and that's the reason we went to look at it. We liked the layout reasonably well. In an overall sense, the layout is very similar to the apartment we're in. It's a little bit smaller, which is our biggest holdback. The staff who toured us was knowledgeable, friendly, and cooperative. We had a favorable experience. We had breakfast there, too.

Cambridge Village of Apex is lovely. The amenities are nice. It's more upscale than other places. The community is very nice. It is in a very nice location. There's a beautiful fountain that you can see if you're in the back apartments. The front apartments get views of the parking lot, but they don't cost as much as the ones with the view. It's very nice. I told the people that it's probably going to be at the top of my list when I'm ready to move. The staff was very friendly. The woman that was taking me around, she knew everybody by name and spoke to them in the hallway. There were a lot of people out and about. It was still lunchtime, so there were people still waiting to go into the restaurant. The dining room is kind of a restaurant style where you wait to be seated and then you have a wait staff that brings you the meal that you ordered. The facility is in excellent condition. The model that they took me to is the newest. I saw the menu and it looked lovely. They got a lot of activities there also.

Our tour at Cambridge Village of Apex was quite favorable. It's one of the three places that my wife and I consider. The staff who showed us around was very nice, it was actually off hours when we went there but they had someone there take us on a tour. We looked at the particular room arrangement that we were interested in, it was a very favorable presentation. The advantages that I felt was that the bedroom was a larger size than other places, and the amount of closet space they have available. They have programs for physical therapy and rehabilitation which is very important. They also have social programs available.

The rooms were large enough for my mother, and some apartments have porches which are very nice. The area behind the buildings has a pond and is beautiful. The dining is like a restaurant, and the staff was very accommodating. My picky mother loved the dining here. The staff was caring and helpful, even when my mother would be in one of her fits. I moved my mother because she wanted to be a little closer to her old neighborhood. Big mistake. Cambridge was a great value and mother was happy here. I did not realize how difficult to please she was until after she left Cambridge. The only minus I have is that they are only Independent Living and do not have Assisted to move to when the time comes. I have had parents at other facilities in the area and have visited almost all facilities in town. This one is a gem.

Cambridge Village of Apex was bright and new, but it was in the middle of nowhere, and there wasn't any mature landscaping. The apartments were very well-appointed but smaller than the others. There was a group coming from the farmer's market, and they were planting things outside. There were people playing cards, and there were men talking in the library. However, my parents thought it was too big, and they did not have assisted living. The staff was awesome.

Provider Response

Hi Ellen! Thanks so much for your review! We do have 24 hour nursing care available through Interim Healthcare but not a separate building for assisted living. And we have a floor designated for higher care near the nurses office. We wish your parents the best at their new home!

A neighbor is at Cambridge Village of Apex, so we went to see him, and I was very impressed with this community. It is quite expensive, but it's a good size place. They offer everything. They have doctors and medical assistants. My neighbor has been very pleased with it. I thought it was very nice. It seems like a high-end place.

Cambridge Village of Apex is a new facility that is adding buildings. The main complaint my mom has had is the food. They have a new food service, which is more restaurant style, and are trying to work on the food. She likes it a lot. It is nice and bright. She is on the fourth floor in a studio, which she didn’t think she wanted, but she took it because there wasn’t a one-bedroom available after waiting for three or four months. She has made lots of friends in that hall, and she didn’t want to move, so she was happy where she was. Everything has been really good. They have what they call supported care, and they tell you upfront that it is not assisted living. They have one hall in one building where they will help you with dressing and medication and stuff like that. They are not certified assisted living and insurance won’t pay for that.

Cambridge Village of Apex's facilities are dependent on the care coming to the client. They don't move them to assisted living. I liked the apartments, and the place is updated. They have a wellness center and a heated pool. I liked the fact that they had a lot of classes, exercise, and water activities. I just wished their apartments were more open with a patio and more natural light.

My mom is living in Cambridge Village of Apex. It is a wonderful community indeed. The staff is caring for the residents. The food is very good, and there is a lot of variety for the residents. The chef does a good job. They also provide a lot of activities for the residents to keep them active and interactive with each other. They have a movie theater and a swimming pool and take trips. There is something for everyone. It gets the residents out of their apartments to do some fun things.

Cambridge Village of Apex is beautiful. It is a great place. The only difference is that it is not close to me. My best friend has her parent there. They have the same kind of amenities as with the other facility. It is very pretty. They have a pool and a gym.

The people at Cambridge Village seem nice. The food is OK. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help. The apartment is very spacious. They have a full kitchen, washer and dryer, two bedrooms, and it's very nice. They have bingo, theater, and outdoor activities. It's also close to where I live, just 10 minutes away. That was very important for us. It's clean, people seem friendly, and it's not very strict, so I like that.
