I am not sure how the caregivers could have a greater impact. They have helped the most by helping the client get washed up and changed. They do his daily hygiene and make sure he remembers to eat. The agency needs to be able to retain their staff longer. It has gotten better, but their turnover was kind of high for a second. They were sending a lot of different people in and I don't like a lot of people in and out of my house. We have had the same person for the last couple of months, so that's been good.

Right At Home has wonderful caring employees. When I first started looking for companion level care for my brother, I was getting discouraged. Most agencies put me off saying it would be 6 weeks or more before they can start. The first time I spoke with Katie at Right At Home, I was impressed at how carefully she listened and actually cared about what I had to say. I had the opportunity to speak with several people over time and each and everyone one of them treated me with respect and compassion. Right at Home was able to start the Companionship care immediately. They are very easy to talk to and proved to be a wonderful choice for my brother. I was blessed to find them.

I'd like to offer a very positive review for Jennifer and Ashley of Right at Home in Wilmington, NC. My father has Alzheimer's and many of the associated challenges (both for me --his daughter--as live-in caregiver--and any in-home, third-party assistance.). Right at Home has been incredibly professional, provided quite good communication, and ensures unusually thoughtful, careful, and responsive staffing for in-home care a couple of times a week (to give me a break). Jennifer and Ashley LISTEN and have provided one of the best caregivers/experiences I've tried within the past year. Unlike a few other providers for home healthcare and continuing help, they work to match needs, personality profiles, etc. (Rather than the more typical, "here is a "body" for this week/day or the next, ever-changing staff, and last-minute scheduling/staffing changes.). Regretfully, our current "helper" must take some time off for personal reasons. Jennifer and Ashley are working to not only provide a suitable replacement, but they are having the replacement "shadow" our current caregiver. They are aware we will have to see how my dad interacts with a female vs male caregiver. I realize this has been a long review, but I believe these guys deserve a more in-depth review than most "one-size-fits-all" providers.

I'm very pleased with the care that my 94 year old mother is receiving from Right At Home Wilmington. My mother suffers from dementia and had a very difficult transition to a new memory care facility when it was necessary to move her from Ohio to North Carolina. The initial facility didn't work out and Right At Home came into the picture when she had to move a second time within 2 weeks to a different facility. They are initially providing 24 hour companion care to assist the facility staff in helping her adjust to another new home and I plan to continue to use their services in a reduced capacity even after she is settled. The owner, Jennifer, and her staff have taken a very personal approach to the care they provide, treating her with respect and love. I live an hour away and in so many ways they have gone above and beyond my expectations from having a beautiful bouquet of flowers in her room on move in day to actually taking her laundry home and washing it when the facility's dryer broke and her laundry backed up. In addition they serve as my 'eyes and ears ' since I am not able to be there on a daily basis. I am very pleased with the individual caregivers that have been assigned to my mother. Jennifer has taken great care in selecting companions of varying ages that truly have a calling to work with not only the elderly, but especially with those suffering with dementia. The caregivers understand the disease, are able to see beyond the difficult behavior it causes and connect with the person my mother really is. In addition the owner has made it clear that she is available whenever I need to touch base even on weekends. During a very difficult time for me and my mother; God provided Right At Home Wilmington in answer to my prayers.
