The first caregiver that was sent was too young and did not know what she was doing. She sat on the chair and was on the phone, the next one was wonderful she was older, and did more. I can't think of anything right now.

I am a client of SYNERGY HomeCare of Waupaca. Overall, it is good and bad. The Veterans pay for the gentleman that I have come in. They are double charging because the Veterans are paying for it. They told me they get $30 an hour, and Jerry is here for 3 hours; however, they charge the Veterans for six. I don't think that's right. He sits here and watches television with him to make sure he doesn't fall. I'm only gone for 3 hours, and I come right back. My husband's able to pretty much get around on his own and do his own thing. I just don't want him to fall or walk away because he does have dementia. Jerry is awesome. We love him to pieces. He has became one of the family already. He really does a wonderful job. Too bad they don't have more men because that is perfect for my husband. The scheduling is worked out, but the billing is all screwed up. I think they are ripping the Veterans off, and I don't like that part. If you worked for 3 hours, why should you get paid for six. They said, "Well, the Veterans must think your husband is worth it."

The first caretaker we had come in, we thought it would be convenient for her to come from a client from across the road. With the light cleaning jobs we had her do, she wouldn't do the whole thing. We've only had the second one now for two weeks. They have tried to do what they can to make things work for my wife and I. The agency has been informative.

My life is much easier. For the last five years, I have gotten up every morning, given my husband a sponge bath, and have taken him to work. I would take him to work, and my children all work, so it was hard for them to help. I like to sleep in a little bit, and I have been able to do that since getting SYNERGY HomeCare. They do not do anything to bother us. We needed somebody to take care of him, and they found somebody. It was very well done.

The owner has said that if she wouldn't send a caregiver to her parents, she won't send them to anyone else.
