It helped a lot. The caregivers helped the most just by being there and helping the client with her needs. With the COVID issues, staffing has been a problem for everybody and it took them quite a while before they could get me onboard and provide services. That was kind of frustrating. We needed it more immediately and it took probably 3-4 weeks before they could find someone to come. It was only a few weeks that we had them. We weren't with them for a long period.

We chose BrightStar Care Northern Michigan because their caregivers had a little more training, they were a little more vetted, were researched more than the other agencies, and they do drug testing regularly. My dad is happy with them. He thinks that the gal is quite good. She's doing what we asked her to do and she shows up on time. They help him with his exercises, meals, and taking him to his doctors' appointments.

They make things look seamless and easy. The scheduler is very competent and attentive to my phone calls. They are good at calling me back, even if they have to deliver bad news. I can tell that she is always smiling, even through the phone and the bad news.
