If I had some dishes that were in the sink, she would wash them. She would pick up a little bit. She was just really good to do things without me saying anything. I liked the idea that when I didn't feel like doing something she would do it. I appreciated everything she would do for me. If she knew I like a lot of ice water, if I sat down, she'd automatically fix my ice water.

Because of the COVID restrictions it is difficult to answer this. My mother tested positive for COVID and so the caregiver did not come in and sit with her. In this particular case, the whole reason for the care is because my mother needs someone to help her with daily functioning. If the caregiver is not willing to be with my mother then she can't get the help she needs. Once she got 2 negative tests the caregiver came back in and is there to provide what my mother needs. I am not local to where my mother is located. It is nice to have someone local who is managing the home care worker.

It was helpful to have someone available when I needed them. Having some workers with experience would've been great. They seemed young and earlier off in their career. We would've liked someone with extended experience. I would've liked that if there was a life threatening situation, they could communicate with me or know how to handle it based on their experience.

The sitters that come are valuable. They are there when I can't be to make sure she doesn't fall. I don't really know all the sitters and I wish I could. I do talk to them on the phone sometimes when I call. Now with all the protocol in place with people not being able to come in, it is hard for me to know for sure that they are actually there with her. If there is some kind of way for me to know for sure about that it would give me peace of mind. I know they are supposed to have a cell phone and check-in.

The former caretaker had a degree in occupational therapy, but we lost her to another employee. The current caretaker we have is very nice and personal, but she has no occupational skills and training. I wish we had someone with a little more skills in dealing with patients with dementia. I think their employees have been very prompt and punctual. They are very accommodating with the scheduling, and they seem to be very passionate about the work they do.

There is a lot of give and take, but overall it was hard putting her somewhere, at the same time it has been beneficial in that my loved one is closer to us. Before we moved her there they lived in a different town from me and my family, so we had to get in the car to see them. I like knowing that there is someone there with them all the time. It gives them some Independence. I go there everyday so I know most of the people there. The caregivers are all so nice and so helpful. My loved one really loves them and they know them. They know things about them, which makes it really nice.
