I really did not see anybody until they came out every 6 months to reevaluate my mother. That is all that they were supposed to do. She did not get anything else. Nobody came out as a weekly or monthly thing. No nurse came to check her. The young lady came in to help my mother with taking showers and whatever she needed so it was good.

This review is shamefully overdue. Bright Star Home Care is the best at what they do. I've had nothing but positive experience. I'd particularly like to compliment Jenny, who is beyond wonderful! She is so on the ball, thoughtful, proactive and thorough. For instance, she had visited me just once. The next time she arrived, she had purchased cleaning and other supplies we'd just touched on in that first visit. I mean, weeks had gone by and she remembered and went to the trouble to acquire the items! She is a credit to Bright Star and a good example to the rest of us!

The aide comes and helps my mother bathe and that's fine, but the light housework is where the problem comes in. We've had women going through her things, but with an elderly woman with Alzheimer's you can't change anything. They've gone through her drawers, closets, the kitchen, and changed things around, and that's caused a problem. I'm not satisfied. My loved one is a 91 year old with dementia and Alzheimer's. We just went through the 8th caregiver since signing up with BrightStar Care.

The only thing I can say is that in bad weather, they call off work. We are able to get by with family help when that happens. We cant rely on them. They don't replace people when they can't come. We live where there are lots of bad roads though, so we understand somewhat when they cannot come. We would be lost without the help. They usually get her up and shower her. They dress her because all the rest of the family is gone. It is dangerous on her own.

I would not recommend BrightStar Care because one of the caregivers was lovely and very nice, but they just didn't know how to vacuum, and the other one was lazy, but that one knew how to vacuum. They had a home of their own and children. They would sit there on the computer while me and my husband were sitting there in pain and needing help. Going to the grocery store was fine, but dusting and doing the dishes seemed to be difficult for them. They didn't seem trained to do certain things, like taking the laundry out of the dryer before it was dry. The clothes got cleaned because they were in the washer, but they just weren't dried thoroughly and were totally wrinkled. I wasn't up to ironing and was afraid to ask them to iron. They would also just vacuum one spot. The one girl sat and talked on the phone and was on her computer in the afternoon.
