I began receiving care from Home Instead after breaking both legs in a fall. They have provided excellent care givers who have met my needs and assisted with helping me become more independent. Rhonie, Beth, and May were outstanding. Anticipating my needs and following my schedule in every way. I couldn't have done without them during a truly devastating time. My parents don't speak English very well, but Home Instead was able to find a provider R who can speak with them in their native language. That's been a huge help, since my parents didn't get along with previous care providers from a different organization. R is amazingly useful to my parents. He helps make sure they take their medications. He helps drive them for shopping and doctors appointments and even goes with them to the doctor to help translate. He is super responsive and texts me with updates and questions. He is also proactive in noticing things like when my mom got scam phone calls. I am glad and feel safe that my parents are cared for so well.

Following a hospital stay, our mom was going to need some daily assistance ongoing to stay in her home. We contacted Home Instead and they made the process smooth to figure out exactly what kind of care mom needed and how much. Her care is six days a week for just a couple hours to prep breakfast/lunch, clean up a little, fill the birdseed, etc. Any requests we’ve made have been handled well by either the caregiver or Home Instead. Mom’s first caregiver, Lettica, still comes a couple days a week and she is so fond of her. They share a few laughs; mom gets a meal and her beloved coffee. Other days she enjoys having Bonita and Crystal take good care of her. We are grateful to these wonderful folks.

My father was in assisted living but need extra individual care. It was difficult to visit him during Covid years and the caretakers from Homestead safely provided the extra care he needed. He had physical issues which made it difficult for him to walk around by himself. The caretakers helped him dress and enabled him to go the group dining room and have meals with the other residents. As he became more impaired, the caretakers made sure he ate his meals and helped him with his personal grooming. In the last few weeks of his life, our case worker made sure we had enough caretakers to comfort him during the times we had to take a break were unable to be present. They made a very difficult time easier to cope with.

The staff at Home Instead are truly care givers. They have a proven staff of administrative individuals who truly want, and do, take care of their clients. Dad has been using Home Instead for almost 2 years. He is able to stay in his house because of the great care he is receiving from Home Instead. Dad had a stroke 10 years ago and has partial use of his dominant hand. He has two different caregivers, Kathy and Margaret. Both are excellent caregivers. Kathy has been with Dad the longest. She goes ahead and starts When we go places like the grocery I drive and she goes in to get the items I stay in the car.She gets the walker out of my trunk when we go to my doctors offices and helps me through the doors.She always listen for any instructions I could have missed with the doctors. She is very good about getting here on time. She always listen to what i have to say and does what I ask of her.The agency has been very helpful when we have to get some one to replace her . We would like to have known more about the process of deciding what caregiver they send to a particular client. We would like to have known more about the people they sent before we met them for the first time, and my husband wishes he could have known how flexible they were with their schedules. Our primary caregiver, Bob, is very proactive in meeting my husband's needs, has very good time management skills, and motivates him to complete tasks and exercises. Bob accompanies him to many doctor appts, is quite attentive, and takes excellent notes.

We were very pleased with the caregiver of Home Instead. There was a little communication problem initially in getting things set up. We were told they were going to start out on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, but they didn’t have it on the schedule after I was assured that was taken care of. People were supposed to call me back, and they didn’t. Finally, I got a hold of the lady, who I initially had talked to at our home, and she told me that somebody was going to be here on Monday after Thanksgiving, which she did. Then we really liked the caregiver, and we’d have her come back again if we could. We just had some communication bumps in getting started with them.
