They helped her the most by doing basic needs. She is very immobile and can't easily feed herself. There were some people that were very good, and there were some that we not so good.

It is very helpful. I have to run a dance studio, and my mother is 100, so she can't help. He changes him, cooks meals for him, and will put something on for him. He does all that he is supposed to do, but it would be nice to have him clean up more and get the laundry done. We definitely need him. We only have one person now from BrightStar that knows what he is doing, but he leave a lot of things undone. For example, my brother is bed-bound, so if anything spills, it stays on the floor. The aides that come the next day have to clean it up.

All of us were working, but we needed to do a blood sugar reading three times a day, so the agency made it very easy for us to get my mother's diabetes control. They were able to perform the tasks that we asked them to do. They made the experience extremely easy for us as a family in regards to caring for my mother's diabetes. They kept journals that the family was able to see.

What they could do is come assist with more of the plan for the health care. Sometimes they are unsure of what to actively do with my brother, or who they are working with. I have given ideas but constant reminders and making sure they are prepared would be helpful. We are using them for memory care and they don't seem to have a grasp on Alzheimer's or what is entailed with it.

I don't know how they could make things easier. I am very independent. I think they did what I asked them. They were not allowed to give my loved one their medications, and I did not care for that. I used them on a couple different occasions, and we liked the aides assigned. They did very well with my loved one.

BrightStar Care does well because they try to get the caregivers here on certain days but sometimes I have to wait to get a caregiver. BrightStar Care has given me caregivers that I have had some problems with. I had to get rid caregivers before. Then I had to do the work all by myself.

BrightStar Care sent caregivers that weren't really trained. I was told they were trained, but didn't see much training to deal with our needs with Parkinson and dementia. It didn't seem like the caregivers ever wanted to do cleaning. I also had some money missing from our house.

BrightStar Care does their job, and they know what they are doing. We have three caregivers right now, and they are all conscientious, and will jump in to do the work even when mom is asleep. BrightStar Care gives me some time off from caring for mom. They are there since mom can't be alone.

I am less likely to recommend BrightStar Care because the caregiver has not been doing their work correctly. I had to complain because the caregiver was doing crafts and scarfs at the table and not helping my mother. This week the caregiver did do the homemaking tasks such as changing the bedding. Everything was done when I came home this week. The caregiver could make a more positive impact by changing the bedding, cleaning the bathroom, helping with the dishes, and making dinner when I am not here.
