I wish they would do more to help the client with certain things. I wish the caregiver would help the client in and out of the shower when she is there and make sure she is getting a shower weekly. There could be more care for the client besides what she is doing in the house. They're good. They're very good with the client and have the patience. When someone is scheduled, someone is always there then, whether it's the same person or not depending on what's going on.

The impact is out of my control. My mom loves company, so it has been enjoyable overall. The caregivers could have a better understanding of my mom's care plan and what she needs on a weekly basis. I would say the initial caregiver was phenomenal, but the care plan has fallen short of the expectations several times. There is not even a full day's worth of meals. There are tasks that have not happened.

I only have them for a little while now. I am dependent on them if I have to go for a transfusion or something like that. I am going through a difficult medical issue and trying my best to care for my loved one as well. There isn't anything they can do to make my life any easier, it is just a different life. I think they need to improve the training for their caregivers. It feels like they send people who aren't familiar with what they are supposed to do. I think that they took advantage of my experience.

So far, they send nice people but last Friday they sent a girl who my wife didn't like because she didn't know my wife's problems. They give her a shower, make her bed, clean her room, and also clean the bathroom.

They were quick to respond. I think that they did a fine job, and I appreciate what they did for my mother-in-law. The communication could have been a little bit better. My mother-in-law's oxygen was not working, and we had a note on the refrigerator on how to contact us if something happened. The staff member who was there contacted hospice about the problem but not us family members. She didn't contact BrightStar Care either, so they did not notify me of the event. My mother-in-law went without oxygen for several hours even though they were there. We didn't find out about it until the next day.

I would not recommend BrightStar Care because they got rid of my caregiver and didn't tell me, so I sat around for four weeks and didn't get any laundry done. They sent me another caregiver and they didn't tell me who she was or when she was coming. BrightStar Care hardly helps me at all. All BrightStar Care does is one load of laundry for two hours. The county who is paying for it won't give me any more time.
