I am a past client of this provider
i recently moved my father who has alzheimers in with my husband and me. We contacted senior helpers and they were quick to send someone out. However, the lady that came to our house had been drinking - that should have been our first of many red flags. Then they sent out a man, who I worked with and showed what to do, and yet he still didn't do what I asked. He was also consistently late, and calling in sick - second red flag. We were getting new people all the time which really wasn't much of a help since I basically had to train them time and time again. The third and final red flag was when one of the scheduling women told our helper that day to just leave my father alone if she had to leave and we weren't home. That helper quit senior helpers the very next day. Senior helpers tell you have they experience with patients with Alzheimer's but they do not! I was being generous giving them even one star!!!
From Senior Helpers
An integral part of Senior Helpers' care model involves personal companionship; caregivers can organize indoor and outdoor activities such as reminiscence exercises, current events discussions, movie hour, scrap-booking and outings to visit neighbors, friends and local entertainment venues. Senior Helpers has developed a non-medical Alzheimer's training program for its caregivers as well, which supports its mission to prevent premature institutionalization.
