I have multiple experiences with six local agencies (3 hospitals and 3 independents) over the course of eight years. Spoon River was the one who listened the best. None are perfect, but listening to the client, being receptive rather than defensive and an attitude of seeking solutions rather than explaining or blaming go a lot farther than lip service. In home care is largely dependent on accurate assessment, diagnosis, and appropriate personalities and skills to handle the task at hand. Spoon River brought all these into our house consistently, and whenever there was a concern, they were quick to resolve it, learn from it and stay the course. I'd have them back in a minute, and know I could depend on them listening, hearing and performing accordingly. It is so very important to communicate your thoughts, fears, concerns and needs. They listen!
