Reviews of O.S.P.T.A.

At age 64, my husband suffered a stroke while he and I were out of town. After receiving inpatient rehabilitation, my husband and I returned to our home town where he went for ongoing rehabilitation at a rehab facility. At the time of my husband's discharge from the facility, we had to choose an in-home provider for my husband's physical and occupational therapy. My trusted friend recommended O.S.P.T.A. from whom her father received in-home therapy. This referral was not "on the list" of the care coordinator who assisted with my husband's discharge and arranged for in-home services.
My husband arrived home on a Saturday and the following day an O.S.P.T.A. physical therapist came to the house to conduct a formal assessment and develop a plan of care. Personally, I was not comfortable with having "strangers" into our home; however, the therapist made my husband and me comfortable with her caring, friendly, and professional manner. She was very knowledgeable. My husband and I learned more about the effects of a stroke and the rehabilitation process from this therapist than we did from any of the previous providers. I understood why my friend referred me to O.S.P.T.A. My husband was equally pleased with the occupational therapist who had the same caring, friendly, and professional manner. I would be remiss if I did not comment on the occupational therapist 's assistant who came once a week to shower my husband. She, too, was accommodating, efficient, caring, and professional in her interactions with my husband and me.
Both the physical and occupational therapists worked collaboratively with my husband to prepare him for more rigorous out-patient physical and occupational therapy where my husband is making the expected slow but steady progress as he recovers from his hemorrhagic stroke.
In addition to our satisfaction with the services of the O.S.P.T.A. in-home therapists, I was pleased with how accommodating they were with scheduling in-home sessions. Also, the office staff were very helpful when I, as the sole caregiver, needed assistance with documentation and paperwork.
I was disappointed that my husband's health plan "forced" him to move out of the care of the in-home therapists and on to out-patient therapy. However, I knew it was time for my husband to move on to more rigorous therapy and that the in-home physical and occupational therapists had adequately prepared him for the transition to out-patient therapy.
I endorse O.S.P.T.A. based on the services of the two therapists who worked with my husband.
